Late last year, a service called Prinstagram surfaced on the web. It allowed users to order mini prints, photo books, and posters of their Instragram shots all compiled together. But if you’re looking to get larger prints of your shots without having to go edit them in Photoshop, then you can go for Snapstagram.

The web-based service will offer an easy-to-use interface to select batches of 12 photos from your Instagram account and have them output into 4″x4″ square prints. A “roll” of 12 prints will cost you $6 (USD) including shipping.

Snapstagram is currently raising funds on Kickstarter, where a minimum pledge of $5 will get you a promo code for 1 roll which contains printouts of 12 photos. They’ve already hit their goal, so they’re definitely moving forward with the site.

That was then. Now fast forward to today, where people are taking photos like mad thanks to digital photography. Most devices now come with built-in cameras, from laptops to tablets and smartphones, like Apple’s ever-popular iPhone. The current reigning photo-sharing app on the iPhone is (in my opinion) Instagram. Aside from letting you post your photos to Facebook and Twitter, you can also add some pretty cool effects and filters to transform how your shots look. Plus, it’s free, so really, nothing to complain about there.

But if you’re a bit old school and want to be able to take some of your best Instagram shots around with you, or hang up posters of the prints in your room, then you’re in luck because that’s what Prinstagram is looking to offer you.

Choose the shots you want to keep forever, then have them printed out on a poster, mini print, mini book, or tiny book.

Or if you’re the playful type, then print them out on stickers instead. Prinstagram prices range from $10 to $25, so they’re still pretty affordable, since you get concrete versions of your best memories in exchange for that amount.

The series is called Disassembly, and it’s quite compelling. Each image shows you just how many components went into these old pieces of technology. The flip clock and typewriter are impressively complex, as are the old cameras.

There are two types of photos that make up the series. One features the disassembled tech, all laid out neatly, which I prefer, and others are part of the Apart sub-series, which show the tech basically being blown apart.

Even Darth Vader needs a holiday from time to time. After all, there’s more to being a Sith Lord than running the Empire and torturing and killing Jedi. Here you’ll find Darth Vader taking a stroll, going for a surf, using a Segway, and just basically trying to have fun.

Apart from relaxing and sleeping in seedy motel rooms at night, you can expect Darth Vader to take surfing seriously, even if he has to use a white surfboard instead of a more customary dark one.

To be fair, you don’t really see anything that’s too NSFW. The photos just imply that these toys are ambling across naked bodies.On closer inspection, there’s a woman and a man involved – standing in for the rolling sands of Tatooine. All of the photos were tastefully done, obscuring any truly explicit details.

And it is that exact moment that Junior decides he wants to pull your hair or scream for ice cream or look the other way as the picture gets snapped.

So to decrease (since it’s probably near impossible to aim for eliminating them completely) the odds of this happening at the next family gathering or vacation, Samsung has announced that they’re making 21 oh-so-adorable camera animations available for download for free to display on your camera LCD so your kid will find something worthwhile to look at while they’re photos are being snapped.

The animations are only available for the Samsung ST700, PL170 and PL120 though, as announced at CES 2011, so if you’ve already got one of these in your camera bag then head on over to Samsung’s site in a few weeks to get the animations.

LEGOLAND California will be the first of three parks to launch the Star Wars Miniland, including six scenes from the movie series, and one from The Clone Wars, comprised of about 2,000 individual models and over 1.5 million bricks.

The pictures show the LEGOLAND staff unloading boxes filled with all sorts of goodies, including a giant Millennium Falcon, an AT-AT, an X-Wing Fighter, along with other smaller characters like an AT-ST and R2-D2. Here’s a little video showing off the delicate flight of the Falcon as it makes its way to the model shop for final assembly, along with some other juicy LEGO treats.

The LEGO Star Wars Miniland should be open to the public this March, so if you happen to live near Carlsbad, California, you know to block out some time on your calendar to drop by this Spring. No word yet on when the exhibit will make its way to the other LEGOLAND parks in Denmark and Germany.

The pictorial features models Irina Voronina and Sasckya Porto posing in not much more than their birthday suits, painted with glowing with the ethereal cybernetic blue and orange hues of the world of TRON. If you look closely, you’ll notice that they’re riding those awesome real-world lightcycles from Parker Brothers too.

We’re only comfortable showing a little bit of what’s revealed in the pictorial here, but if you head on over to Playboy’s TRON tribute gallery, you can find plenty more glowing boobies and buns to whet your whistle.

They’ve also got a fully nekkid version behind the pay wall if your hormones are raging and you just can’t take it anymore.

These guys destroyed Apple products, which include the iPad, iPhone, as well as the MacBook, and created this stunning photographs of the aftermath. Each device was broken, shot, crushed or completely annhilated. It’s interesting to see MacBook unibody cases and iPads utterly in pieces.

I think my favorite is the iPad that’s been shot a dozen times. It’s definitely beautiful, in a strange way. It’s definitely more newsworthy than Apple telling us that “the day that we’d never forget” was them making an announcement that we can now purchase a catalog of Beatles music that we’ve been able to listen to already for the last 40 years.

His most iconic shot is of a stormtrooper doing some moonwalking, which he calls Stormwalking. He’s got shots of all sorts of Star Wars toys, including Star Wars LEGO minifigurines.

Gareth has also taken 365 shots of a LEGO minifig Boba Fett, which he calls Year of the Fett. Much like Stefan Le Dû’s  365 stormtroopers, you can find Boba Fett in all sorts of strange situations throughout the year.

Stefan also constructed a loose storyline, in which the two stormtroopers, TK479 and TK455 travel through the world, reporting back to Darth Vader, staying clear of the infamous wookies, and writing hate mail to Luke Skywalker. I think that took place in Episode 37.

The website is called Avatarize Yourself. You simply upload a photo of yourself and let it work its magic. Soon, you’ll have your own Avatar. That being said, they definitely give some comical results. It’s true that Avatars don’t look like Smurfs, but some of these photos made me wonder if that would be better.

Anyway, go check it out and share it with your friends. It’s sure to give some interesting results, depending on the type of photos that you upload. I wonder what would happen if I avatarized my dog?

The company behind these unique OLED-based artworks is called Nanobrick, and their displays are called Miyoul. Some samples of their displays were showcased last week’s CES show.

Each different display has several OLED screens, which are from 3.3-inches to 4.1-inches. They are designed for viewing digital photos and videos – each one custom shot to match the sculptural display. Sounds a bit obscene at this price, but hey, if money is no object for you, why not?

The best of the Miyoul is the one called Flowers. The others look pretty strange to me. Here’s some video the guys from OWLE shot over at CES where you can see some samples of Miyoul in action.

Now as much as the ring box can be used for good, it could also be used for evil. The surefire way to get kicked to the curb with one of these would be: a) to spend more on the box than you do on the ring or b) to not pop the question in person, and instead record a video proposal.
