Here’s the perfect thing to plant out in your garden if you’re too busy stuck inside playing video game to water your plants.

Based on the various flora from the Mushroom Kingdom (not including the mushrooms themselves), these potted plants require absolutely no care.

The plants themselves are made from melted Perler beads, doing away with that pesky soil and water and replacing them with, well, styrofoam and nothing. I suppose you could sprinkle some water and plant food on them if you really wanted to, but they’ll do just fine without. Although the Piranha Plant does like to be fed the occasional plumber.

The set of plants was made by Etsy seller Melloduck, and includes a Piranha Plant (10″ tall), a Fire Flower (7″ tall), and the lesser-known Nipper Plant (5″ tall). A set of 3 plants, including matching green terracotta pots – will set you back $35 (USD) – a small price to pay for a completely care-free garden.

With winter around the corner, I could use a new scarf. But I’m not sure I’m confident enough in my own masculinity to walk around wearing this crocheted Super Mario Bros. Piranha Plant scarf around my neck.

The Softest Toad You’Ll Ever See

Toad is probably the cutest character from the Mario ‘verse (Mario in various boots and outfits aside), but he doesn’t show up as often as many of the other characters in crafts outside of cosplay, which is why I was so thrilled to see this adorable knitted version.

He’s all fat and puffy and soft, like a sock monkey but about six hundred times (I measured) better. But what’s one iconic Mario character? Lonely, that’s what. Gotta have something to complete the set… like a piranha plant!

Upside down and clearly panicked Toad does not approve, but I sure do. Flickr user and knitter SkyRacer8 has a number of knit plushies on display, from an adorable Totoro to some more random items.
