I think me and my sisters would have thought differently though, if my dad told us we’d be sleeping in a giant pizza inside our tent. Not a real one, of course, because that would just be gross – but this Slice of Pizza Sleeping Bag instead.

This comfortable sleeping bag looks like your basic slice of pizza with tomato sauce and some vegetarian toppings. Personally, I prefer white sauce pizzas, but this will have to do. The coolest thing about it is probably the toppings. If you haven’t guessed already, they aren’t just there for decoration because they’re actually pillows. I don’t think I’d like any broccoli on my pizza though, but olives, mushrooms, and pepperoni? Count me in.

These delicious slices of stuffed sleeping goodness are handmade and customized by Brook of B Fiber and Crafts and are available for $250(USD). Extra toppings as pillows cost an additional $20 each, while sown-on toppings are priced at $10 each.

Now excuse me while I go call and have a box of pizza delivered…

This particular pizza features the red Angry Bird, and he appears to still be pissed off, despite the fact that he’s made up of delicious mushrooms, black olives, and just the right amount of onion. I could skip all that red pepper though. Maybe he’s grumpy because he knows he’s about to be eaten.

Apparently, the guy who made this decided not to go with making a green piggie pizza, because that would have required using moldy ham.

Apparently, Domino’s is trying to one-up their rival Pizza Hut, who in 2001 paid the Russian space agency to deliver a batch of their pepperoni pizzas to cosmonauts in space. Delivering pizzas to space is one thing. Building, running and maintaining a four story building on the moon is something else entirely. Why not shoot for Antarctica instead? At least you’re sure there are customers there willing to wrestle a polar bear for some hot pizza. Yet here’s the president of Domino’s Japan presenting their daydream idea himself:

According to The Telegraph, a Japanese construction firm is “coming up with a plan”, which will involve sending 70 tons of material to space on 15 rockets, at an estimated cost of ¥1.67 trillion (~$21.70 billion USD). Here’s an awesome quote from a Domino’s Japan spokesman obtained by The Telegraph: “We started thinking about this project last year, although we have not yet determined when the restaurant might open.”

This just in: Technabob has announced that we will be the first blog to have a writer assigned to the sun. We will be discussing our plans with a very imaginative 6-year old, and we think we’ll need about 749 tons of stuff, which will be spent to space via the rockets that Domino’s will use to send their stuff to the moon, thereby reducing our cost estimates to about $5 trillion. We started thinking about this project just now, although we have not yet determined when the writer will be sent. We will be drawing straws to determine who gets the honor of representing our blog. At least until September 27th, PS3 owners will be able to order Papa John’s pizza without having to do anything complicated, like move, or even navigate all the way to the PS3 browser. Web browsers and typing… that’s all for the plebeians.

Of course, this special promotion only means that a button has been added to to the system browser. At any time, PS3 owners are free to open up the browser and order anything from pizza to delivery Chinese… but it takes so much effort. What if I only want to move my thumb a few times?

The Porta-Pizza oven could be just what the doctor ordered. This 12-volt pizza oven looks almost like an April Fools prank from The Onion, but it’s real. Now I’d be afraid that I’d kill my car battery with the amount of power you’d need to cook pizza, but what the heck do I know? And what’s to stop you from making toast in your front seat with this? Inventor Claudio Torghele (not sure if he’s the guy in the pic) says that he got the idea ten years ago while he was working in – drum roll please – the United States, in California to be precise: “At food courts I saw a trend toward vending machines.” I’m wondering why he didn’t choose to put up the machines in the US rather than earning the ire of his countrymen.

Let’s Pizza offers four kinds of toppings: tomato and cheese, vegetables, ham, and bacon. After a topping is selected, the machine mixes flour and water into a drum. The drum spins to form a lump of dough that is then pressed to form a 12-inch disk. A squirt of tomato here, a sprinkle of cheese there, some… other stuff, and then it’s baked in an infrared oven. The finished product is then placed into a cardboard tray.

Pino Morelli, head of the Association of Italian Pizzerias, is insulted that such a device will soon co-exist with local pizzerias:  “It might be alright for McDonalds and other fast-food chains or for foreign markets like the US, China and India but anyone wanting to eat a real pizza has to go to a traditional pizzeria.” He’s not pissed off because there’s a new competitor in town – and I also think that fast food has a long way to go before it can be as delicious as restaurant/homemade food – he’s concerned that the machine might give pizza and Italy a bad name: “The pizza is the symbol of the ‘Made in Italy’ brand and we should let it live and prosper in peace.”
