The guys over at Computer Choppers (who previously gave us the gold-plated MacBook Pro and the digg casemod) have a new trick up their sleeves. Working their secret alchemy, they’ve managed to coat the matte aluminum surfaces of Apple’s latest 24-inch iMacs with shiny chrome and other metallic platings…

Remember that 24-karat gold plated MacBook Pro I told you about the other day? Well the case mod gods over at Computer Choppers were kind enough to send me over photos of the finished product, and it looks even more fantastic than I had envisioned.

Other than the diamond-encrusted Apple logo and the LCD screen, every surface of this shiny spectacle is covered in gold…

The talented case modders from Computer Choppers are currently working on a project to create a golden Apple MacBook Pro laptop. I’m not talking about a little spray paint here. This mod includes a full 24-karat gold plating of the case.

They’ve even gone so far to color-match the keyboard, then re-engrave the letters for a seamless, professional design…
