The headline says it all. According to Sony’s European website the PS3 has been delayed until March 2007 in the PAL territories of Europe, Russia, Middle East, Africa and Australasia. Launch date remains November 17, 2006 for North America and Japan, but I wouldn’t be surprised to see that date slip given Sony’s recent track record…

Gamesradar has done a side-by-side comparison of the Sony Playstation 3 and the Microsoft Xbox 360, using an accurately sized display prop provided by Sony.
I’m not sure what the Japanese market will think about this beast, given the past failure of larger consoles in that market.

The folks at TrustedReviews have learned that the Playstation 3 will require a special adapter in order to load saved games from PS1/PS2 memory cards. This quote is pulled directly from Sony’s Website:
To use saved data on a PlayStation 2 memory card, you must copy the data onto a virtual memory card within the hard disk…

According to an article at gamesindustry.biz, Nintendo is likely to price its first party Wii titles at $49.99 USD, keeping their pricing in line with the GameCube, Xbox and PS2. This is in contrast to the $59.99 price points for most Xbox 360 games, and the $59.99+ price points that have been mentioned for PS3 titles. Could this move drive the price back down on multi-platform releases?..
