He has nice long arms and legs and looks like he might actually be climbing through some trees with his Wookiee family on Kashyyyk. Now, I’m not saying that Chewie is lazy (I don’t want him pulling my arm out of it’s socket, after all), but this one also looks a lot like a sloth. I guess that’s what makes him so adorable.

Sadly, you can’t buy this one right now. Hopefully, maker Denn Rodriguez will create more of this guy for her Etsy shop. He sure does look soft and cuddly. If all Wookies looked like this, no being in the Star Wars universe would be scared of them.

Why can’t they create original games like Super Mario Bros. today that have enduring and adorable characters? I’m starting to think we may never get such games again. But hey, at least we still have the classic games and tons of cool merchandise to go along with them.

This plush Koopa shell backpack is awesome. It measures about 16-inches in diameter, and turns you into a Koopa in like two seconds. Of course you run the risk of people jumping on you and tossing you across the room, but still, it’s a great way to carry your stuff.

You might be tempted to walk really slow back and forth like a Zombie with a shell, or feel the urge to go all Hammer Bros. on someone and bar people’s path even, but I say as long as you look the part, go for it. Just don’t be surprised when a plumber jumps on you and your shell goes flying.

You can get one for $44.99(USD) from Amazon.

On occasion, my daughter or son will call me from one of their bedrooms to come help with something. I know things are not right when the first thing I hear is “Pillow Fight!” and then start getting hit. The bad part is that when my daughter runs out of pillows to throw, she has been known to resort to chucking Barbie dolls and Hot Wheels at me.

What we need for those pillow fights is these plush weapons by Bryan Ku to make things more realistic. They’re made out of everyday fabric and stuffing with different weapons like a grenade, ninja star, axe, cutlass, and even a lightsaber silkscreened onto them.

I am really digging the lightsaber and the nunchucks. Though I wonder if that long and thin lightsaber has enough rigidity to be effective in a pillow fight. I’d stick with the nunchucks and go all Bruce Lee on my opponents.

While these plush Star Wars vehicles won’t exactly make the jump to hyperspace anytime soon, they should do just fine for impromptu battles in your living room. Or at least to keep your neck in a comfy position while you sit on the couch crying over the changes Lucas made to the Blu-ray edition.

Choose from Luke’s X-Wing Fighter, a soft and squishy AT-AT or the ship that did the Kessel Run in twelve parsecs, the fiber-filled Millennium Falcon. Each one of these plush toys measures about 6 inches across, and will look great scattered across your couch like the aftermath of the battle on Hoth. (Though a Snow Speeder would be more appropriate than an X-Wing.)

These each sell for just $9.95 (USD) each over at ThinkGeek. I only wish they had a plush TIE Fighter and Death Star to go with.

These pillows are made by JezebelRose and you can have your own for $150, which is expensive, but they take between 3 to 6 weeks to complete, so you’re getting your money’s worth. These proton packs are made to order, so you’ll probably be the only one that has one on your block. With a few friends, you can probably assemble your own Ghostbusters squad.

The trap doesn’t come with the proton pack, so you’ll have to get that separately here for $40. All in all, these are the best (the only?) Ghostbusters-themed pillows I’ve ever seen.

I play Angry Birds and Cut the Rope. On occasion, each of them will really piss me off though and send me looking for something else to do. If you are a big fan of Cut The Rope, starting at the end of September you will be able to get some new toys to get you through the frustrated time with the game.

The developer behind the game, ZeptoLab, has announced that a full line of plush toys will be coming out that looks like the game’s little monster hero Om Nom. The green plush toys will be in different sizes and will have the different facial expressions that Om Nom uses throughout the game.

The developer is also on hand at Comic-Con this week for another interesting announcement. The company has teamed up with Ape Entertainment to create a digital comic strip based on the game. The comics will tell the story of Om Nom before the game. The comics will be distributed through a standalone app that will hit the App Store in late August. There is no word on if the comic app will come to other platforms down the road, but I bet it will come to Android.

Solid Snake might be a little rough and tough, but that doesn’t mean he doesn’t have a softer side – and by that, I mean plush and squishy.

Despite having no idea who Solid Snake was, Crafter averyg ended up having to make a plush Snake for Craftster’s Poppet Mini Swap (yes that’s “poppet”, not “puppet”), in which crafters have to make a requested doll for their swap partner.

Other than the giant head and lack of a nose or mouth, the felt and pipecleaner version of Snake is a dead ringer for Hideo Kojima’s Snake. Although I’m not quite sure about the eyes either. I’m pretty sure that when the government wanted to create the perfect soldier, they weren’t thinking about his eyelashes.

Photography geeks listen up. You can get gigantic pillows that look like lenses, and that would look really cool on your couch or bed. These things remind me of when I worked in the hospital; we had a giant 1-liter syringe used for calibrating machinery. I would at times whip that thing out and tell the person I needed to get a little blood. That is the only thing I miss about a “real” job. You could do the same thing with these giant lens pillows, just tell your subject you need a close-up and then whirl around with this thing on your camera.

You can get the lens cushions from a company called Plushtography. They are made from fleece material and felt. I suspect that felt would be as itchy as a pillow made from cat hair. The pillows come in three different versions including the Canon 24-105mm pillow that is the largest one available. The other two are smaller and designed to look like a Nikon 35mm f/1.8 lens and a Canon 50mm f/1.8 lens.

All three of the pillows have the correct markings on them from the real lenses. You can order them up now directly from Plushtography with the big pillow costing $80 (USD) and the smaller ones going for $35. Where is the giant DSLR body pillow to go with these lenses?

As we all know, the world of Minecraft is about creation, not destruction, violence or fighting (not yet anyway). But there are still a handful of things that a Minecraft player fears, and of these few nothing may be more so than the Creeper. This plushie may be your best chance at revenge at those bastards.

The cool thing about this stuffed toy is that its parts are held together by Velcro, which makes it quite convenient for repeated dismemberment and general punishment. Or accept defeat at its hands and feign death when you make it explode.

Of course, if you’ve grown fond of the green guy then the plushie is also perfect for you. You can re-arrange his limbs to give him a more human-like form. Or use his body as a pillow. Or bring his head with you wherever you go.

Those Angry Birds and pesky green pigs are everywhere these days. They’ve even invaded Flickr, where I found these sickeningly cute little handmade Angry Birds plushes made by Heidi Kenney of My Paper Crane.

All of the little plush birdies and pigs were made for her son, and are filled with a mix of rice and polyfil so they’re heavy enough to actually shoot with a slingshot using these and a bunch of pigs placed amongst some wood blocks. She doesn’t mention if the black ones actually explode or if the weird looking ones are tiny boomerangs, but I’m going to guess no.

All tolled, she made a dozen of the birds and six pigs, and most of them are small enough to fit in the palm of your hand.

She doesn’t say, but I bet that little red one is completely useless just like the one in the game. At least she made one of the big fat red guys too. At least those ones are good for something.

Anyone who’s a fan of the Cthulhu Mythos and HP Lovecraft will enjoy putting this Peeping Cthulhu Suction Cup Plush in the back window of their car. It’s the combination of things, the cuteness of the plush toy, the fact that Cthulhu was never meant to be cute, and the fact that most people driving behind you will have no idea what the hell it is that makes this one a winner.

Yes, we all know that Cthulhu is watching us, but this peeping Cthulhu will allow you to scare anyone who’s looking at your windows. Maybe “scare” isn’t the right word. Maybe “perplex” would be better. This 7″ suction-cup plush will undoubtedly produce more smiles or looks of confusion than scares.

This cute Cthulhu is available for pre-order for $12.99 (USD) at EntertainmentEarth. If that’s not enough, check out this plush toy for your little ones, perfect to school them from a young age into the lore of the Old Ones.

The huggable dynamic duo were made by Jennifer aka Kittyzilla, who expertly fashions a variety of materials to make great plush toys. I’ve included a couple of her other creations to show you how great she is at capturing the essence of characters, while imbuing them with the charm that only things that come in bright colors and quaint sizes can achieve. And also some action shots of Batman and Robin that will make you sing the theme song to the classic TV show.

Check out Kittyzilla’s Etsy shop, Handmade Stuffs, for details on ordering your own custom plush toy. Generally she charges $40 (USD) for each toy. The toys are usually 19″ tall and have jointed arms to make them poseable.

I really like Angry Birds, even if it does occasionally frustrate me and I fear the bill I will get from the in app purchases my daughter made. We have seen some plush toys made in the likeness of the Angry Birds characters before, but those were seemingly for US geeks only.

If you are a UK geek, you can pre-order your own Angry Birds plush toys right now on Firebox. The company has three different lines. The largest of them are 8-inch plush toys in blue, red, and yellow birds or the green piggy. Any of the 8-inch offerings will sell for £9.99 with shipping.

You can also get backpack clips in blue, red, or yellow birds for £3.99. If you really want to annoy the people around you, you can get a collection of the toys for £4.99 each that make sounds. The sound collection is offered in black, blue, red, white, and yellow birds and the green pig. I want to know where king pig is. Pre-orders are underway now with shipment set for March 1.

Actually, that’s not how it works. Instead, Twitter Monkey alerts you in an annoying way when it ‘sees’ specific keywords come up in a Twitter stream by wildly gesticulating its arms. This is done thanks to some servos and an Arduino controller. It’s funny how people enjoy being annoyed by their tech.

I guess it makes some sense if you are watching for specific terms on Twitter, or any other website. Personally, I’m looking forward to the Twitter Monkey which could actually Tweet all by itself.

An iPhone or iPod touch is like catnip for kids. They get a glimpse of the phone, realize there are games close by and descend like little locusts and abscond with the device in short order. If you fear the early demise of your iPhone even if it is in a case you aren’t alone.

Griffin has unveiled a cool new case that is perfect for kids and it’s heavily padded to protect your device. The case is called Woogie and looks like a stuffed green flower with six petals. In the center of the flower is a clear sleeve for you to poke your iPhone into.
Click to View Embedded Video Clip

The Woogie has a speaker built-in and power for the speaker comes from a pair of AAA batteries. Once you have the iDevice in the Woogie case it would be pretty much impossible for your kid to break your phone. You can order one up now for $19.99 (USD) and there are even books available to go with the Woogie App in the App Store right now.

Just like that computer on your desk, this 17-inch tall, one-of-a-kind plush iMac comes with a matching wireless keyboard and mouse. Unlike your computer, it’s made from felt with polyester stuffing. (Unless you still have one of those awful Performas made back in the early 1990s.)

If you’ve ever played any table top RPGs, you’ve probably heard of the Cthulhu Mythos. It was one of the first systems that made it fun to go just plain bonkers. The trick of the game was to just remain sane enough to play.

That being said, these plush Cthulhu shouldn’t make you go crazy, but they’ll sure remind you of Lovecraft’s disturbed universe, wherever you put them. A bunch of different cute and cuddly Cthulhu accessories are available over at Entertainment Earth.
