Take a look at the pair of glasses below. They look like your ordinary pair of contemporary sunglasses, no? Well take a closer look. Wait a second, those aren’t lenses at all. They’re sticky notes.

I’m doing my best to not call them Post-Its, as I know 3M’s itchy-trigger lawyers will send me a nasty note if I dare refer to them as Post-Its. So I’ll just call them Whats-Its. Or sticky notes. Let’s go with sticky notes. Now why would you want eyeglasses with sticky notes on them, you might ask? Well, here’s why…

See, you can make funny faces with them – turning your face into sort of a real-life Nintendo Mii. The possibilities are endless. Well actually, they’re pretty limited, but they’re still pretty awesome.

I spotted these Memo Eyes eyeglass note pads over at Funshop, so good luck finding them outside of Korea. But even if you could, it’s not like you could see out of them anyhow, and I’m certain they’re not covered by your company’s optical insurance.

Light Switch Sticky Notes Remind You to Turn Off the Lights

I used to stick Post-It notes on our refrigerator door, cabinet, mirror, computer monitor, and possibly a hundred other different locations when I wanted to leave a note for my sister on those occasions that I would be sleeping by the time she got home and she would still be in bed when I would be leaving for work.

It used to be a lot of work, trying to think of the place that she would most likely spot my note. But something that helps take the guesswork out of the entire process? Light switch sticky notes!

Light switches might not be the first thing a person notices when he or she steps into a room, but it’s definitely something that a person is bound to see sooner or later.

I mean, take me for example. I don’t really look at the light switch, but when I go to the bathroom to wash my face and brush my teeth, it’s the first thing my hand gravitates to. When I enter the kitchen to fix some breakfast, out goes my hand to flick the light switch on.

And when it grazes that small sheet of paper by the switch, then bingo! Message transmission successful!

The brainchild of the Light Switch Sticky Notes is Jihyang Lee and they’re currently available for £7.50 (~$12) from Suck UK. (I know, weird name to call a store.)

Tetris Sticky Notes: Post-it Puzzlers

Retro gamers, here’s a great way to take notes, while at the same time playing a round of Tetris. These sticky notes come in Tetris-inspired shapes, letting you create puzzles as you write. Although I’m not sure completing a row of these actually makes them disappear from your wall.

The note pads are officially being sold as “Block Notes,” presumably so as not to offend the makers of Tetris or Post-It® notes – or at least to avoid the ire of their lawyers. Either way, I’m still gonna call them Tetris Post-Its®, because that’s what they are to me.

They come in sets of 8 pads for £7.50 (~$12 USD) , including a variety of block shapes and colors, courtesy of our friends over at SUCK UK.

Post-It Printer Concept: If You’re Forgetful and Lazy

…or if like me you have bad handwriting. Dongyeon Kim’s Take-it Post-it Printer concept syncs with both PCs and mobile devices and would print on Post-it sticky Notes. It also doubles as a container for Post-it Notes, so you can still tear off a piece and write a note manually.

It would be nice if you could program the device to print notes at preset times and dates so you won’t even have to remember to make notes. Unless of course you make a note to remind yourself to make a note.

Super Post-It Mario

I’m guessing that this Super Mario Bros. stop-motion animation took just a little bit of time to orchestrate and shoot.

Actually, the guy who shot the video says it took him about 2 weeks of shooting for 3-1/2 hours a day to get it done. Total production budget: ¥500 (appx. $5.48 USD) – presumably for the Post-It notes themselves.

Now that’s what I call a real Super Paper Mario.

Perfect Weapon for the Office Apocalypse Shoots Post-It Notes

I have had a couple bosses in my day that I would have totally lit up at the site of this Post-it gun. Thankfully, if my boss is a jerk today, I only have myself to blame since I work from home. Back when I had a “real job,” we would occasionally have office wars where we would throw things at each other. One guy was burned with a steam cleaner once, but serious injuries were rare.

If I still worked around people that I would throw things at I would want this concept gun for sure. Honestly, I still want it. The thing has a clip that you load with Post-it notes, arguably the greatest office invention ever.

Pull the trigger on the concept and the sticky note is shot out the end for you to use. Too bad the thing can’t shoot them across the room like ninja stars. That would be perfect for those coworkers you’d like to paper cut to death.

Double Duty: Flash Drive With Sticky Notes

Flash drives are really useful for managing data, particularly if you’re moving files around between computers, but sometimes you just need to scribble something down. On paper. But how often is a notepad around when you need one? Now these petty problems are easily solved with this flash drive that features a pack of sticky note flags built right in.

If you’re like me and end up writing a lot of random stuff down, something like this seems incredibly useful. The flash drive has 2GB capacity and holds 100 little notes… and with that, all I want to know is: is it refillable? Because no one wants to drop another $30 for a new drive just because you’re out of paper. I’m sure you could wedge another pack in, though, if you tried hard enough.

This USB drive is currently available in Japan, though of course, you can import one if you so desire.

Nintendo Guerilla (or is That Gorilla) Advertising

Check out these recently sighted Nintendo ads comprised of thousands of individual sticky notes used to create giant versions of The Big N’s classic gaming icons.

Taking some obvious inspiration from this earlier video game Post-it art, the colored notes were used to create pixelated versions of Mario, Donkey Kong, Zelda and other gaming characters. Each individual note could be removed by passersby, revealing a small advertisement for the Wii’s virtual console.

From what I can find out, these photos were snapped a few weeks back somewhere in Italy. Hopefully, we’ll see this clever campaign rolled out to other locations sometime in the future.

Donkey Kong Post-It Note Art

A group of engineering students over at the University of California Santa Cruz took time out of their busy academic schedules to create this larger-than-life work of art made from Post-it Notes.

The Donkey Kong installation took the team of ten people about five hours to complete, and used over 6,400 colored Post-it Notes (although they had to buy over 14,000 of the little sticky buggers to get all the colors they needed.)
