While it’s common for casemodders to go to great lengths to convert their desktop systems into portables, It’s not often that I see laptops transformed into desktops. But in this case, the end result is truly a major improvement over the original.
This beautiful acrylic and perforated steel system started out as a beat-up Apple PowerBook that was nearly at death’s door…

Not that this is the first time we’ve heard of a laptop exploding due to defective LI-ION battery, but this is one of the more spectacular examples of devastation we’ve seen. Clearly, leaving your laptop on and unattended has its potential consequences. Note that the machine got hot enough to melt an imprint of the keyboard into the LCD screen…
