Why print on boring old paper, when you can get your message across on some nice bouncy ping pong balls? The appropriately named PingPongPrinter can print dot-matrix messages directly onto the spherical surface of ping pong balls…

This odd-looking photo printer from HP has a style that you’ll either love or hate. Reminiscent in some ways of the original egg-shaped iMac models from the late 1990s, the Photosmart A826 printer looks a bit like something out of an old science fiction movie.
While its design might be a bit outlandish, functionally, it’s pretty robust for a dedicated photo printer…

While most conventional printers use ink, toner or wax to print, these new portable printers from Zink will print full color images without applying any substance to the surface of the paper.
Instead of ink or toner, Zink’s compact printers will use a special paper, embedded with color dye crystals that are activated when heat is applied…

Samsung’s upcoming CLP-300 and CLP-300N claim to be the world’s smallest and lightest color laser printers.
The printers measure just 15.4″ W x 13.5″ D x 10.4″ H and weigh less than 30 lbs each. They feature a unique toner system which minimizes the size of the printer as well as cutting down on the noise of mechanical toner systems in competitors’ printers…
