Mario Propaganda Posters: Long Live the King! (Koopa)

Fro Design Co. made these motivational war posters for Koopa sympathizers. Knowing how Mario’s games always end, these posters must have been as ineffective as they are beautiful.

“The Koopas are fighting, why aren’t you?” Because Mario will kick our asses, that’s why.

Unfortunately the posters are already sold out, but if you’re willing to settle for the digital versions, rally your mouse cursor and march to Fro Design Co.’s blog to see them all in their high-res glory. Edit: Good news Koopa Troopas! Eagle-eyed commenter Splitinfinitive alerted us to Fro Design Co.’s recent announcement. They’ll be re-releasing all 4 Mario Propaganda posters – plus a couple other old prints – on August 29, so mark the date and bookmark their website if you’re interested in buying copies.

Melting Light Bulb: is This How Salvador Dali Lit His House?

Light bulbs are made out of glass, so they shouldn’t melt unless you heat them to a couple of thousand degrees Farenheit. That is, unless you get one of these kooky lighting fixtures from Propaganda.

The lamp lets you fool people around you into thinking that your bulb is actually melting like a Good Humor bar on a hot Summer day. From a distance, the melting bulb lamp looks very convincing. Up close, you can see a bit more of its rubbery construction, but it’s still pretty fun.

While these lamps have actually been out for a few years now (they actually won a Good Design Award all the way back in 2002,) I thought they were still worth a mention. They seem to be sold out from most places I’ve checked, but they might still be available from Harbee’s for ¥10,500 (appx.$86 USD.)
