Have you ever been annoyed by your mouse and it’s incessant clicking while you navigate the web? Actually, you probably haven’t. However, your partner might have a problem with it, depending on how close your workstation is to the bedroom. I try to keep things as quiet as possible when my wife sleeps, but this mouse will make your clicking almost silent.

The Nexus SM-8000 is a silent mouse compared to the other ones on the market. The SM-8000 has got 5 ultra-quiet buttons, plus it’s wireless and comes with a nano 2.5GHz receiver.

You can check out how these two mice compare to a Logitech MX mouse in the video below. You can see (and hear) how the Nexus mice are quite a bit quieter.

There has been no price announced, but the SM-7000 sells for $35 (USD), so you can expect the cost of the SM-8000 not to break the bank.

I have never built a computer for myself or anyone else in my house that couldn’t play some video games if the need hit. The big downside to cramming powerful video cards, CPUs and fans inside your computer is that the things tend to be loud. My wife uses one of my old computers and it’s in the office I work out of at home. It drives me crazy with how loud the fans get then the room gets warm in the summer. That computer sounds like a military drone flying overhead.

I have been in search of a different case for the machine that might block sound of that noise, and NZXT has a new case that might just do it. The new case is called the H2 Classic and promises “a new era of whisper-quiet gaming.” That’s what I am talking about. The H2 uses a layer of noise dampening foam between the gear inside and the outside so you won’t hear as much.

The case uses a three-phase fan controller too with a controller letting the user put the fans at 40%, 70%, and 100% speed depending on the need. The case has eight front facing HDD cages and a hot swappable dock on the top. It also has 25mm of space behind the mainboard tray so you can hide those cables for airflow and good looks. The case will come in black or white and will sell for $99.99 (USD).

Tired of the Bluetooth Borg collective yammering into space, as if anyone cared about what they had to say? Here’s a brilliant concept that could put an end to all that annoyance.

Boston artist Nick Rodrigues created the modern day version of Maxwell Smart’s Cone of Silence (more like a Cube of Silence) as part of a series which illuminates the odd and sometimes amusing interplay of technology and humanity. Rodrigues’ work is represented by R H Y S Gallery.
