This 100% cotton quilt was made by David McFarling (aka “McFrogling“) and it features the likeness of DK himself, Jumpman (not officially known as Mario at that point), and the damsel in distress (definitely not Princess Peach.) The pixelated characters are placed into a larger-than-life setting of girders and broken ladders, just like in the arcade game.

It measures in at 60″ x 58″ and definitely would look good on a full size bed (or probably a queen too), so this isn’t just for the little kid’s room. I like how Kong id dropping a barrel nowhere near the plumber, so he hasn’t had to whip out the sledgehammer yet. On the other hand, it looks like the only ladder up is broken, so his chances of reaching his ladyfriend are pretty darned slim. Oh well, it wasn’t designed for its gameplay accuracy? Creative license and all, right?

GeekUnique makes these “Lil Geek” 8-bit quilts featuring the likenesses of such iconic video game characters as Mario, Luigi, Donkey Kong, Frogger, Ms. Pac-Man, Dig Dug, Q*Bert or Link.

Each blanket is machine-quilted with a cotton top and polyester batting, and fits a standard 36×36 crib. And since each one is made to order, you can specify colors if you don’t like the standard ones – although we can’t imagine Pac-Man in any color other than yellow, Q*Bert wearing anything but orange, or Mario without his trademark red overalls. But it’s your choice. Go to town and get a grape-ape Donkey Kong for all we care.

This lucky gamer’s wife took twenty of his Halo 3 screenshots and immortalized them in a handmade quilt. The only possible way to improve on this idea is to make a Halo Snuggie. Get on that, crafty types.

Quilter byneedleandthread has been working on the quilt since last summer, apparently (it was made as a gift!), and used available sprite patterns for some of the blocks, while others–like the Zapper and the Nintendo logo–were designed just for this project.

The blue parts are appliqued on with yellow buttons sewn on for the dots. The characters are hand-sewn for maximum cuteness!

Crafter Curegreed made this as a treat for her boyfriend. She said it took hours and hours to get it right. What a lucky guy! Check out this animation of the game in action.

Emily from Carolina Patchworks is at it again with another one of her pixel-y good video game quilts, this time with those pesky monochrome 8-bit invaders coming in for a landing.

The Space Invaders throw measures in at 48 x 67 inches, making it just big enough to keep your kneecaps cozy and warm while you sit on the couch playing one of your newfangled “next-gen” video games.

Each throw is custom made to order, and retails for $250. You can get your hands on this – or one of her other cool game quilts – over on Etsy. Got a special request for a video game quilt? Just drop her a note, and she’ll get you a quote.

Dig Dug was one of the first games I mastered, so if anyone wants to make these for me, feel free. In fact, seeing these inspired me to fire up my Firenes app and check out how accurately these pillows were rendered. Of course, I ended up playing a few rounds. The verdict: I am no longer a master. So I’m gonna have to wrap this up and get back to practicing.

Does Ms. Pac-Man have a beauty mark? For some reason, I never noticed that until now. I guess I was distracted by her luscious lips and sexy hair bow.

Can I have one of these on my bed? Please?

Stitched by the arcade fans from Carolina Patchworks (who’ve also brought us some great Galaga, Mario and Zelda quilts), the 110″ x 50″ Pole Position throw is wide enough to keep four people cozy and warm under its race-car adorned surface.

It looks like Mario just hopped out of his green drain pipe, only to have to face a tough decision. Should he go for the gold coin, flip the Koopa and toss his shell, or squash that Goomba? Oh, life’s little decisions. Why not go for all three in a spectacular display of dexterity?

The 64-inch square quilt was sewn by the fine folks at Carolina Patchworks (makers of the most-excellent Galaga and Zelda quilts). If you just have to have this on your bed, gather up your gold coins ($350 of ‘em) and jump on over to Etsy before its gone.

Designed and sewn by a Crafster contributor going by the brilliant screen name “iddosteveperry”, the quilt features pixelated icons from the 8-bit Nintendo series. Each of the game characters’ bitmaps was painstakingly assembled from 1.5-inch squares, then combined into this enormous 8′ x 8′ quilt.

While it doesn’t feature the likeness of Donkey Kong, it is big enough that he could be sleeping underneath.

Handcrafted by North Carolina artist CarolinaPatchworks, the quilt offers up a giant (18:1 scale) interpretation of the bitmapped icons from arguably the best top-down shooter of all time.

Maine artists Shawna, Patrick (and their turtle named Bruce) from Potatocraft crafted this machine-pieced patchwork quilt from numerous individual squares of colored fabric to create giant pixels.

Measuring in at 36″ x 66″, the $75 quilt is perfect for a twin-sized bed or as a wall hanging. You can find this one, along with a smaller Mario baby quilt ($50) perfect for budding gamers over in their Etsy shop.

She’s done a valiant job recreating the details of the game, including the game’s signature isometric diamond blocks you jumped on, those spinny colored escape platforms, and a couple of those weird enemies. Best of all, Lenore documented the construction process, so you can make your own too.

Actually, the best part of the design is the score of just 400 points, which is about as far as I ever got in this game before perishing from that stupid purple snake (his name was “Coily”, thanks WikiPedia!) @!#?@!
