The Resident Evil: Operation Raccoon City gameplay shown here illustrates the need for team work, with four team members working together to defeat the infected. It looks pretty intense and it may even add some a little something new to the franchise. It should be some hectic and brutal action.

The game takes place during the events of Resident Evil 2 and Resident Evil 3: Nemesis. It’s set in Raccoon City, where all of the people have been turned into zombies after the T-virus outbreak. And as you can see from the trailer, you will have to splatter more than a few heads. Resident Evil: Operation Raccoon City is coming our way on March 20th for PlayStation 3, Xbox 360 and PC, and can be pre-ordered over on Amazon now.

The latest RE game is set 10 years after the Raccoon City incident, and Leon and Chris will team up in this game. It will take place in a town called Lanshiang in China, in the year 2013. Other characters include Helena Harper: a secret service agent and the president’s bodyguard, Ingrid Hunnigan: Field Operations Support for Leon, and the US president Adam Benford. There’s also a mercenary character who has been told that “he is the man to save the world.” That’s all we know about him.

The game will also feature a revamped control scheme, including the ability to shoot while moving, and slide and roll tactics to get to cover. The zombies will also have some new tricks up their sleeves, the ability to run, jump and wield weapons. Seems like this could make it a whole new game. No more slow zombies lumbering towards you. This should be interesting. In my opinion, the franchise has been getting stale and this should definitely spice things up.

That’s a good question Barry. The Resident Evil Wiki says that Capcom decided not to release this port because of poor quality. Then late last year an Assembler forum member named kiff claimed to be in contact with someone who has two cartridges containing unfinished builds of the canned game. That someone will be kind enough to upload the contents of said carts online for public consumption, but not kind enough to do it for free. The person is asking for $2,000 (USD), hence the fundraiser. Here’s some gameplay footage of the port, uploaded back in 2007 by YouTuber Dot50Cal.

Jill looks like a monster herself. If that wasn’t horrifying enough, remember that these are unfinished copies we’re talking about. They have significant glitches and missing content, such as non-functioning enemies and weapons. Kiff also said of one of the builds, “I am not 100% if any of the endings work.” And yet as of this writing kiff has raised nearly $1,500 with almost a month to go, so there’s a good chance that these builds will be released.

Then again the donors to the fundraiser are probably less excited about playing the game than the thought of virtually digging up a relic from a bygone generation. Head to Assembler if you’d like to donate as well. I wonder what the original developers think about this.

This game takes place on an abandoned cruise ship in the Mediterranean. Of course the ship isn’t very empty. There is sure to be plenty of action and plenty of zombies for Jill Valentine and Chris Redfield.

While the photos of this awesome thing already look pretty damned polished, modder Ron L. Christainson says he’s still got a couple of months of work left to finish up his Biohazard PC – which he started over a year ago. It’s not clear from the pictures, but I think the part with the fans will form the left wall of this massive Umbrella Corp. complex, but if you look closely, you’ll see a couple of USB, Firewire and audio ports there on the right side of the fan wall.

Ron is building the insanely complex custom PC from polystyrene sheeting, and various and sundry parts from science fiction models. As you can see from the pics, the mod is loaded with incredible details, echoing the weathered looks of the decrepit Biohazard plant. Once complete, Ron’s PC will have a high-end watercooled gaming system under the hood – perfect for a round of Resident Evil 5 while he waits for R.E. 6 to come out.

This premise sets such high expectations. I was actually interested to see how an 8-bit Diablo II would look like. Would it be a side-scroller, an even more primitive version of Golden Axe? Or would it be more like Wizardry?

Or it could be a generic RPG with no relation to Diablo II at all, except for the probability that Diablo himself might have made the game. As I said, andrew-cole is selling these and more NES de-makes like Dragon Quest VIII and Megaman X on eBay.

If you’re feeling unusually decadent today, you might want to buy one of these just for the heck of it. But I sincerely hope that Tyrael descends from the heavens and lands at the speed of light on your heathen ass if you so much as consider buying that Diablo de-make. Andrew-cole should pay you to play that game.

Leon Kennedy can apparently tear up unfortunate farmers even when he’s been broken down to his most basic elements. Also? His jacket remains chic and stylish. Is there nothing this man can’t do? Personally, I’d be more than happy to play the 8-bit adventures of Leon Kennedy, but for now we’ll have to settle for a painting instead of a game.

This particular painting was originally sold at a Child’s Play auction and now the prints–as above–are available at Etsy on canvas for $35. The charity goes on, though; half of the proceeds of each print sale goes to Child’s Play. Who says gore never helped anything?

Ah, lovely, colorful, and not-quite-deadly. Two out of three ain’t bad, as they say. Id’s softer, gentler grenades are at least life-size, so you know they’re satisfying in the hand, even if they are significantly more squeezable than a real grenade. Also? Less useful against zombies, or not-zombies, as the case may be (those last Resident Evil games have been veering away from the normal undead menace, after all… if you can call any violent, face-pounding menace of any sort normal).

But they look great in Photoshop, and really, that should be enough for anyone.

Can you imagine walking behind someone with the T-virus bobbing along in their hair? I’m not sure if I’d ask ‘em to get some coffee or if I’d be forced to karate chop them into the next world in order to save this one. Probably the former. But let’s not linger on my violent tendencies, and instead look at another example: Portal hairsticks. There’s a game that’s been really popular lately with the crafters.

At $20 a pair, I can’t say these are a bad deal, but you’d also have to deal with hearing “The cake is a lie!” over and over and over….

I’ve seen at least two more RE 5 sets that have different freebies. Fortunately, you don’t have to look for the right Limited Edition or shell out lots of money if all you want is the chainsaw; just do a bit of searching on eBay and you’ll find these chainsaw USB drives for sale. EverythingUSB found one that’s selling for $22 USD, and I found another chainsaw drive that’s going for $36 USD.

I fear that we will never know the answers to these questions. But what I do know is that vests are the best, and the best kind of vests are Raccoon P.D. vests. And if you like my style, then you will want to check out Ebay veteran masahikox‘ current items for sale.

The first item is Chris Redfield’s vest in Resident Evil: Code Veronica. As you can see it has anti-zombie embroidery at the back, while in front are numerous pockets, perfect for storing 7 green herbs, 6 different guns, 933 bullets and 2 typewriter ribbons.

The vest also has this label that would not make sense at all if you were a member of the RPD, but is nonetheless a neat touch:

Masahikox is selling the Code Veronica vest for €550 ($710 USD). I know, I know: some of you are saying, “Meh. I’d have broken my son’s piggy bank ten seconds ago if that vest was green.” Well your son can kiss his money goodbye, because masahikox (online names = ftw) is also selling a green RPD vest!

Masahikox describes it as the vest that Chris Redfield used in the Resident Evil game on Gamecube, which is a long way of saying that this is the vest that Chris Redfield used in Resident Evil 1. Unlike the black vest, this one is green. It’s also shiny and puffier. Like the black vest, the shiny puffy green vest also has numerous pockets as well as a logo on its back.

Sweet. And it has this “this vest is fo realz yo” label:

Masahikox says that all three were made by Phantom Tokyo. Masahikox also says that all three of Chris Redfield’s clothes have never been worn, which is kind of obvious since the person who’s supposed to be wearing them is imaginary.
