Max Payne 3 Bullet Time Preview Looks Awesome

We’ve been waiting patiently for the third game in the Max Payne series, and if this recently released Bullet Time demo video is anything to go by, it will be worth the wait.

It not only looks awesome, it appears to be even bloodier this time around and the effects are better. Slow-motion Bullet Time is always instantly satisfying when you are playing a game. Well, if it is done right. In Max Payne 3, you are in control as bullets fly by within an inch of your head and your opponents have no idea that you can bend time. Bullet time will also replenish based on multiple factors such as risk, skill and shot precision. Opponents not only will move in slow-motion during Bullet Time fire, but you can see detailed injury reactions as you precisely aim for your victims.

This game looks like it should be a lot of fun when it arrives on May 15th. I can’t wait to check it out.

Max Payne 3 Gets an Official Release Date

Many of us have been waiting for the Max Payne 3 game for a long time, and now we finally have a date. It was originally supposed to arrive back in 2009 (two full years ago) but the game faced several delays and missed a few launch dates in both 2010 and 2011. And now Rockstar Games has announced that Max Payne 3 will finally arrive in March of 2012.

So what can we expect? Well, this game will be the first in the series to have multiplayer, for one thing. There’s also a new reward and leveling up system as well as character load-out options. These options may be worth the wait alone.

You can expect it to be much grittier too. The game takes place 8 years after Max Payne 2, and is based in Brazil. It tells the story of his downward spiral. This is not like other Max Payne games, Max is addicted and broken, hence the story is dark and twisted. I think it’s safe to say that we can expect lots of violence. I can’t wait to play this one.

Oh, Irony: Pirates Unleash Grand Theft Auto: Chinatown Wars Early

Word on the internet streets is that a copy of Grand Theft Auto: Chinatown Wars has been leaked and the downloads are flying. The game, the first in the franchise for the Nintendo DS, is scheduled for release next week.

There are some reports that the ROM is not fully functional, or may not be working on all DS flash carts, which must be something of a relief for Rockstar Games.

Chinatown Wars drops players into the role of 25-year-old Huang Lee after his father’s death. As you can see in the video below, the game makes use of the Nintendo handheld’s touchscreen interface, because everyone loves interactive theft games!
