Yep, and this keyboard won’t just have five color-coded buttons on it. It’ll be a full 25-key, two-octave range keyboard, and you’ll be playing the actual notes you’d be playing on a real keyboard if you can ever find the time to put down the controller. You’ll start with very simple note ranges, but as you increase difficulty level, you’ll be using the full keyboard, and learning the real notes. Check out the video below to see an early prototype of the keyboard in action, and hear more about the game’s other new features:

This has to be the best news I’ve heard all week: a new Elder Scrolls game has been sort-of confirmed, finally. Time to wrap up those last few quests in Oblivion, folks. It only took, what, a year or three to finish that one? Probably as long as it takes Bethesda to make ‘em.

The news of the newest addition to the Elder Scrolls‘ lineup comes from an unusual source: a tie-in novel set after Oblivion. Or rather, a line about the tie-in novel’s place in the franchise timeline that referred to The Infernal City‘s taking place between the last game and the next game. That puts this unnamed-sequel some 200 years after Oblivion. Let’s hope that, in the intervening time, someone has figured out a way to allow you to decorate your houses without resorting to haphazardly flinging things at the bookshelves.

In other related news, there’s a rumor rolling around that we may be seeing a marriage of awesome with Bethesda’s parent company considering buying Valve. I don’t know about you guys, but I’m not sure I could handle that. I’m about to lapse into paroxysms of extreme joy at the very thought.

ZOE fans rejoice! In an entry at Kojima Productions’ blog (translated from Japanese) last Saturday (Oct. 17), Kojima revealed that 2003′s Zone of the Enders The 2nd Runner (released in JAPAN as ANUBIS:Zone of the Enders) will not be the last installment in the beloved series. Kojima’s exact words were: 時期の約束はできません。でも、続編の約束はできます。Google Translation: “Can not promise when. But can promise a sequel.” BAM!

Like the more-recent Valkyria Chronicles, Zone of the Enders 2 earned lots of fans because of its unique graphics and neat gameplay, but in the end had poor sales. Kojima doesn’t want that to happen again, and he says some more stuff regarding what happened back then. I think he said something about the wrong timing of the game’s release, and he sort of apologizes to the fans. I’m not entirely sure however because I can’t read Japanese, not even Google Translated Japanese: “But his second and, by close to the original “ANUBIS” Despite what is luck, I missed the opportunity to hit an explosive… All the producers could identify my mistakes… At that time, the release date be wrong, “Anubis” is “MGS” continue to do things he still continues to expand as a brand staple Kojipuro series… The staff and the fans think of the things I’m sorry.”

But in the end he goes and drops the bomb that makes all the pain go away. So yes, there will be a ZOE 3… Kojima just can’t – or won’t – say when it’ll be out. I would be royally pissed if it comes out on the PS4.

Left 4 Dead 2 is bringing all sorts of new zombie mayhem to the table. No more is the apocalyptic experience just about running from point A to point B (where the transportation is!); the sequel is bringing mission-style multiplayer in a new game type called Scavenge.

So what are you scavenging? Gas cans. The setup, at first, is not unlike versus in the first game; one set of players step into the shoes of the survivors, and others act as special infected. But instead of escaping, the objective here is to collect gas cans and bring them back, while the zombies do their best to ruin everyone’s day. The team that, in their time as the survivors, collects the most gas cans wins.

Other aspects Left 4 Dead players should be used to are still in effect here: infected players have limited spawn points, of course, and there are always all the other zombies. But the added fetch challenge stands to add a whole new dimension to the co-op game, which is out next month.

The gorgeous WiiWare game LostWinds debuted last year to instant cult status. As one of the first games released for Nintendo’s original games service, LostWinds quickly emerged from the shadow of Square Enix’s My Life as a King to rock reviewers and Wii owners all over the world. You know what that means: a sequel!

Frontier Developments says that LostWinds: Winter of the Melodias will pick up Toku’s adventure while adding new aspects to the experience, like a new spirit who gives the power to change the seasons. And oh! The screenshots are absolutely beautiful. If all Wii games were LostWinds, life would be pretty okay.

Well, that’ll sure get your attention when you’re just flipping past game covers at the store.

Renegade Kid was very free with video and screen shots from the first title, but they have been largely quiet on the sequel thus far. A release date in February was just announced, however, so I’m sure more information will pop up later this year. For now, that cover is enough. If you need me, I’ll be huddling under the covers with all the lights on.

BioShock 2, the sequel to Take-Two’s alternative history shooter has been delayed to the first half of 2010. The horror! The sequel was originally slated to debut late this year, just in time for the holiday buying season, but the title has been pushed back.

Does the game need more development time? That’s part of the story. The other? Money. Take-Two chairman Strauss Zelnick admitted that the company expects that next year will provide “a better performing product in the marketplace.”

So suck it up, gamers. No BioShock for you yet. At least one group of people might be pleased at the delay: BioShock-obsessed crafters. More time to work on those elaborate projects before the game’s release, at least.

If you build or play mods for the PC version of Left 4 Dead (Xbox gamers am cry), odds are the announcement of the quick sequel, whether or not it was welcome news, had you grumbling just a little. After all, some of those mods are dead awesome, and it’d be a shame to give them up. Luckily, you won’t have to.

If you can play such killer mods as the above, the replica of the mall from Dawn of the Dead, you wouldn’t want to give that up! But Valve has helpfully assured Left 4 Dead fans that all custom content from the first game will be immediately compatible with the second, which is due later this year.

Capcom today confirmed that Dead Rising 2… is coming to not only the Xbox 360, but to the PS3 and PC too. Not too much else is known yet, but any game that involves bashing zombies over the head with a roulette wheel is fine by me.
