I went on a trip last November and ended up buying an extra suitcase before returning home because my stuff just wouldn’t fit into the original bags I brought with me. I really tried to pack light, but there are just some thing that I had difficulty not bringing, like the obvious toiletries.

If you encounter the same problem when trying to pack that usual bag of toiletries into your luggage, then it might be time to consider going Travelon. I don’t know why I always discover these things a tad too late, because it’s probably going to be a while before I go on another trip again.

These Toiletry Sheets by Travelon are perfect for the frequent traveler. I mean, they basically have sheets for everything: shaving, shampoo, conditioner, body wash and hand soap. They even have laundry soap sheets, for crying out loud.

Imagine replacing all those tiny bottles and tubes and boxes with these small plastic cases. Now imagine all of the additional space that you’ll have to cram more clothes and souvenirs in your suitcase. It’s a pretty picture, isn’t it?

If you want them, you can get them online from Travelon for $4.99(USD) for a pack of 50 biodegradable sheets.

Panasonic’s new Shampoo robot, recently shown off at CEATEC 2011, has hairdressing salons scared. Okay, not really. They don’t have anything to fear from this thing just yet. Although it looks like it might feel like a good massage (until it peels your scalp clean off when it becomes self-aware), it is as slow as Jessica Simpson in a physics class.

This thing is basically a car wash for human craniums. It soaps you, scrubs you, rinses you off and repeats. It may not be perfect, but shampooers everywhere have been put on notice. You might want to turn down your volume for this video clip since the sound is all wonky, but you don’t really need to hear it to see what’s going on:

Click to View Embedded Video Clip

It won’t be long before this robot is washing hair in hospitals, salons etc. Once they tweak it some more, I can even see it dying grandma’s hair blue and giving people rough haircuts in under 5 minutes. Maybe it could even cut some pre-loaded designs into people’s hair and tattoo skulls. Personally, I don’t care what it can do, I won’t be trusting my fragile skull to this thing.

This isn’t exactly high-tech, but it’s a strange enough gadget that I wanted to share it. It’s a waterproof radio for your shower that’s disguised as a shampoo bottle.

Sooo… what’s the rationale behind this product? The only thing I can think of is that it’s to prevent theft of your super awesome shower radio. But that doesn’t make sense because this thing looks really cheap. I mean, I have single bottles of real shampoo that probably cost more than a whole case of these things. Whatever the reason, this wins the prize for being the most pointless gadget I’ve come across lately. (OK, so realistically, maybe it’s a tie with the s’mores maker, but it’s definitely up there.)

The stats: it takes 3 AAA batteries and adds absolutely no value to your life or decor. It looks like it’s a wholesale item, so if you’d like to stock these in your (obviously somewhat craptastic) shop check out the deets on Alibaba.
