While the name might be a bit of a mouthful, the Sony Ericsson Live with Walkman is basically an Android smartphone that comes with integrated sharing services, specifically for music, thanks to a dedicated hardware button on the phone.

The button allows you to share and discover content through Facebook integration. It also will let you explore the Qriocity service from Sony, which provides streaming music and video content. The phone has got a glossy finish and a mineral glass display. It will be available in either black or white, but the white version is certainly distinctive.

It has a 3.2 inch touchscreen and a 1GHz processor under the hood. You’ll find two cameras, including a rear 5MP AF one that will capture 720p HD video. It also features Sony’s “xLoud” technology, which lets you crank the volume all the way without distortion. Since it’s an Android phone, it will have access to the 250,000 apps in the Android Market. The Sony Ericsson Live with Walkman will be launched later this year – sometime in Q4. Prices haven’t been announced yet.

I get dozens of iPhone app announcements every day, but this one actually made me prick up my ears and listen. That’s because instead of sending text messages, Tinyvox sends voice messages.

The cool thing about the little app is that it makes it stupid simple to record personalized voice messages and send them to your friends or post them to social networking sites. All you do is click the “Record” button, then the “Share” button when you’re ready to send your audio message. You can choose to send your message to either your own e-mail box or to friends, as well as to share it on Twitter, Facebook or even Tumblr. E-mailed sounds are simply sent as an MP3 that you can play back right then and there. Sure, the iPhone already has its voice memo recorder that can send via E-mail or SMS, but it only sends .M4A files, and can’t post and share them online, and TinyVox’s interface beats Apple’s too. Sounds shared online are are stored on the TinyVox website, which is sort of like TwitPic, but for audio snippets. The only thing I don’t like is the lack of privacy controls on shared online messages, and I couldn’t find a way to delete them once they’re posted to the TinyVox site. Hopefully, they’ll add that feature at some point.

In addition, all of your messages can be stored on your iPhone on virtual “cassettes” for later playback, or shared again. Best part of TinyVox is that it comes in a free (ad-supported) version, which actually does everything that the paid “Pro” version does. And with the Pro version selling for a pricey $19.99 (USD), I imagine they really are betting on the free version taking off. On the other hand, if you really do love the app, I’m sure the developers won’t mind you buying the full version to help cover their hosting and development costs.

You can grab TinyVox over at the App Store now.

There are lots of ways of accessing your files remotely, the easiest of which in my opinion would be to use Dropbox. But if you need more storage, or are just too stubborn to learn how to set-up your own Dropbox account, then you might want to check out iTwin.

As you can see in the picture, iTwin consists of a pair of USB devices with a special connector. In order to use iTwin, first connect one of the USB ends to your PC’s USB port with the two halves connected to each other. This generates a private security key that the two halves will share.

From there it’s as simple as using Dropbox. Just drag files, folders and even entire drives if you want into the iTwin window to indicate which ones you’d like to access remotely. When you take the other half and plug it in to any other PC, you’ll be able to access and edit the files you specified, as long as both PCs are powered on and are connected to the Internet. Think of the iTwin like the two ends of a giant, limitless USB cable, and it makes way more sense.

Click to View Embedded Video Clip

I’m fine with the space that my Dropbox provides, since I only use it to store select documents and images anyway. But I know a few people who would find the iTwin very helpful – especially because of the unique device-to-device security feature. You can order it now at Amazon for $100 (USD); a grey version is also available. Check out iTwin’s website for more info.

Looking for an easy way to copy songs and movies from one iPod to another? Then look no further. This compact device connects two iPods and lets you easily transfer tracks without any computer required.

The $99 miShare snaps between two iPods and will copy tracks with the press of a button. A single button press copies the last song or video played or a pre-selected photo folder. A longer press duplicates any files you’ve got stored in your current On-The-Go playlist, so you can easily copy multiple files.

The device is perfect for moving non-DRMed tracks between the players, but can also copy iTunes DRM tracks with the caveat that you’ll need to authorize the device using iTunes once they’re copied.

Unfortunately, the miShare doesn’t currently work with the iPhone or iPod Touch, but should work fine with all other iPods with the standard 30-pin dock connector (Mini, Nano, 3G, 4G, Video (5G), and Classic (6G) models).

SanDisk’s latest entry into the mobile media player market does one thing that makes it stand out from the pack… it can download tracks directly via a Wi-Fi network. The Sansa Connect will let you access popular online music services without using a PC, letting you download and stream content over a wireless connection.

The Sansa Connect player lets you listen to internet radio stations wirelessly as well as to listen to music subscription services on the go. SanDisk hasn’t been forthcoming with details about what music services they’ll support, but if I had to guess, I’d say they’ll end up supporting PlaysForSure subscription-based services such as URGE, Napster and MusicNow among others. Taking a page from Microsoft’s Zune, the player also offers social networking capabilities that let you see what other friends are listening to, and listen to the same tracks as long as you have a valid subscription for the same music.

The initial model features a nice 2.2″ color display, 4GB of flash memory and a MicroSD slot if that’s not enough memory for you. Priced at $249.99, it should hit stores this March.
