When I’m done using my laptop, I stow it away in a sleeve printed with zebra stripes all over. The sleeve looks pretty beat up from months and months of use, but I just haven’t found the time to look for another one that would appeal to my taste. But I don’t think I can say no to these handsome outfits, cut and re-sewn especially and specifically for laptops and iPads.

These are the brainchild of Richard, who owns Finders and Keeper’s. He basically puts together an outfit (presumably from his old clothes), custom tailors them to fit your notebook or iPad, then lines it with soft organic cotton to make sure your gadget stays safe and snug inside.

Pretty fun, right? I never thought I’d see the day when we’d actually get to dress up iPads and laptops as we would dress up our nephews or sons. (Not that I have any children yet.)

This line of computerwear (as Richard calls them) is available from his Etsy shop, where they range in price from $55 to $75(USD).

This gamer girl top looks great and is super stylish. Perfect for the geeky girl who wants stripes on top and an old school NES controller at her waist. The D-Pad and buttons are in the perfect spots for tickling, so I think I would be tempted to do some gentle button mashing here.

This good looking top was made by Etsy user morosemelonhead using an officially licensed Nintendo mens t-shirt. Sadly, the item has already sold for $49 (USD), but I’m sure she would be willing to make more if you have the money. At least you can try and convince her.

This top makes me want to open an 80′s style cafe, where the waitresses all wear one of these and the customers can play the NES all they want while getting wired on coffee. I’m weird like that.

The hospital is one of my least favorite places in the world. I just get a negative vibe whenever I’m in one, although I haven’t really had a particularly traumatic experience inside one myself. What I have tried, though, was being admitted to a hospital a few years ago because I had been a running a high fever for several days straight.

One of the hassles of being an in-patient is that you’re often hooked up on to monitoring machines and are literally confined in your hospital room. However, a team from the Universidad Carlos III de Madrid in Spain want to change that with their Nuubo smart shirt.

Obviously, this shirt is no ordinary piece of clothing. You can think of it like a portable monitoring machine that you can wear to keep track of your vital signs, and can alert doctors and nurses if anything is amiss. It’s also embedded with a GPS unit that will let hospital staff locate you if you wander too far away from your ward. Moreover, the shirt can even be programmed to run an EKG chest remotely with the push of a button.

The shirt is currently being put on a trial run in a hospital environment, and I hope it’s something we’ll be able to see in use in hospitals very soon.

Global warming and climate change are a drag. The effects of such phenomena are clearly prevalent nowadays. I’ve never seen so much rain fall during the supposedly warm months of summer as it did this year where I live.

Extremely hot weather makes for extremely hot heads.

That was one important lesson I learned then. Never before have I seen my boss sweat so profusely and turn a dangerous shade of beet red when he lost his temper. I mean, usually he’d just give everyone a long and boring lecture, but this time, he really blew his top.

And for bosses and people like him, in general, who can’t take the blustering heat in stride, there’s only one solution: the Kuchofuku Air-Conditioned Cooling Work Shirt.

This shirt looks just like any other old shirt on the outside, but its insides are a different story. It’s got two battery-powered fans continuously cooling you down as you go about your day without breaking a sweat.

But who said keeping cool was cheap? This shirt retails for $186 (USD) from Japan Trend Shop, which might be a more than what a lot of people are willing to pay.

The weather on my side of the world has been crazy lately. One minute it’s scorching hot, and the next, it’s so humid that I can literally feel the water vapor hanging in the air condense on my skin.

Okay, that might be an exaggeration, but I’m not kidding about the erratic weather. Now if only there were some kind of clothing that could automatically cool me down once I begin breaking out a sweat. Oh, wait, there is already clothing that can do that.

Released and developed by the Columbia Sportswear Company, the Omni-Freeze line of clothing automatically cools down once sweat comes into contact with it. Each item in the line is made with special flat yarns that encourage the release of heat and altogether feel cooler to the touch. Aside from that, the flat yarns are bonded with a special chemical that reacts with sweat (or water) to provide a cooling effect.

The whole thing sounds like a really good idea to me. However, I can’t help but wonder: what if the wearer gets caught in a downpour? I doubt anyone would ever want to cool down even more during a heavy storm.

Football is a rough sport and players get hurt all the time from the forces and impacts that are generated in the game. There have been some calls for new safety gear that will monitor the force of hits and strikes. The NFL is also using high-tech clothing to help trainers and coaches see how well a player performs.

During the NFL Scouting Combine this weekend, some players were wearing high-tech shirts from Under Armour that have sensors that are around the chest height. The sensors inside the clothing were used to measure the players’ respiratory system, heart rate and G-forces as they ran and performed other tasks.

According to the NFL, the sensor-laden shirts will help trainers to get players into peak form. The G-force sensors for instance will let the trainer and coach know that the player can’t cut as well from one side as the other so they can work on the off side to improve performance. Eventually, the sensor-laden shirts will find their way to the consumer and other sports.

That’s Apple’s other Steve, Steve Wozniak, wearing a shirt that refers to Gray Powell’s infamous blunder. Powell is the now famous Apple engineer who last month went to a Redwood City, Calif., bar to celebrate his birthday but left behind what is believed to be the prototype of Apple’s next-generation iPhone.

Wozniak apparently sent the above pictures to a friend, Dan Sokol, and said that he (Wozniak) would laugh if the same thing happened to him. Yeah, because you’re the co-founder of Apple. Shrewd Woz!

We often use what we’re wearing as an improvised rag to clean our gadgets or glasses. Design duo fift wanted to put a stop to this silliness, so they and came up with the Wipe Shirt, a dress shirt with a built-in microfiber cloth on one of its cuffs or shirt tails.

It doesn’t take a genius to figure out how to take advantage of the Wipe Shirt:

I’d rather have the version with the microfiber cloth on the cuff, where it’s slightly out of sight, because the microfiber looks like a giant ink stain. On the other hand, having it on the shirt tail makes it easier to use:

Whichever style you prefer, you can order the Wipe Shirt at Generate Design for $159 (USD). Personally I find it too expensive, even though it is a cool concept. Sorry clothes, you’ll continue to be my rags.

Actually the design was made by David Soames & Gavin James. Yet another boring origin. Sometimes the truth isn’t fun as fiction is it? Grab the shirt at Woot! for only $15 (USD), and be quick about it, because the design might be gone by next week.

Valentine’s Day is around the corner, and what better way for us geeks to show our love than with another geeky shirt? But the 8-bit Dynamic Life shirt isn’t just any geek shirt; it’s specially made to show your loved one that you’re more alive with them around. When the wearers are far apart, the heart containers are depleted, with only 2 and a half hearts filled up.

But if the wearers get within “hugging distance” of each other, all of the heart containers fill up! Awwwwwwwwwwww, what a cute way of getting you to buy two shirts at once. Love (and radio frequency detection) at work.

Click to View Embedded Video Clip

You can get the 8-bit Dynamic Life shirts at ThinkGeek for $18 to $25 (USD) per shirt (price varies depending on size); in addition to everlasting love, you need to 3 AAA batteries for each shirt. But what if your special someone is a something? ThinkGeek’s got you covered – instead of buying another shirt, you can get a Transmitter Pack. Place it near your blow-up doll favorite object and watch your life max out when you get near it.

Whatever the case, one thing’s for sure: you can’t minimalize Pac-Man. Check out Browning’s photoset on Flickr for the rest of the art; I think they make for good iPhone wallpapers. He’s also selling T-shirt versions of some of the prints at MySoti.

Even though it seems that the scientific sleuths of Mythbusters have run out of actual myths to test, we can’t deny that their show has brought us a ton of geeky fun throughout the years. Neatorama’s Busted! shirt puts a spin on the show’s catchword:

The thinking geeks at ThinkGeek recently unleashed one of their most awesome creations: WEARABLE ROCK. Their Electronic Rock Guitar Shirt features a semi-guitar with 14 major chords – which were recorded from a real electric guitar – assigned to different areas on the neck, so you can play songs for real without really knowing how to play the guitar.

It even comes with a magnetic pick for some strumming action, and an awesome mini amplifier that has “Think Geek” written on it using the same font that Marshall uses on its amps. Aside from controlling the volume, the amp also has a tone knob.

Ready to go beyond randomly waggling your fingers when you’re rocking out to your favorite song? Then get the Electronic Rock Guitar Shirt at ThinkGeek for just $30 (USD).

When we love someone or something, we tend to overlook its flaws and shortcomings, and we say to ourselves that these flaws and shortcomings are just part of the person or the object that we love, they’re included in the package, even though we could mine these flaws and shortcomings for comic material, thus putting them to good use. Take Star Wars fans. I’m sure that a large percentage of them are intelligent people. And yet it took more than 30 years and a shirt to bring this point up: When you think about it, all galaxies are far, far away.

If you’ve heard the joke before, I apologize for the hype. Personally it made my 2 a.m. so much more awesome. But if it had the same effect on you, you might want to thank Debbie Vega for making the joke up by buying her t-shirt at TypeTees for only $10 (USD).

Listen kids, too much of anything is bad for you. Look at Mario. You think he’s still as healthy as when he was fighting ol’ D-Kong back in ’81? You all think you’re doing him a favor, feeding him all those stars and flowers and leaves and other inedible but somehow magical power-ups. And don’t get me started about them mushrooms.

Yes, our favorite Italian can’t go without the extra toughness and instant growth that the fungus gives him. He’s grown so fond of it, and all this time you’ve been giving him millions of coins to fuel his craving.

From now on, try to finish his games without using any power-ups. The exercise will do the man good. Spread the word and wear this shirt. Get one at Threadless for $18 USD.
