It would have been a funny device if the shoe was actually the phone, instead of this weird bloated inner foot form thingy.

On the plus side, it’s cheaper than most real high heeled shoes would cost you, selling for $22 (USD) over at gadget4all. On the minus side, they are phones that look like fugly high heels and who uses land-line phones anymore? Maybe this is what Maxwell Smart would have used for his calls if he were a cross-dresser.

These shoes are no one-note craft, though. In addition to the Dalek painting on the front, you’ve also got “EXTERMINATE” written on the back. Ergo, no matter what direction you’re facing, your shoes will be shown to be more unique than anyone else’s.

These were created by kelly_bear, who originally envisioned a Dalek on one shoe and a Cyberman on the other shoe, so that her shoes could reenact an epic battle at a moment’s notice. Upon realizing it was too hard to paint a Cyberman she decided to go double-Dalek instead.

You’ve gotta love the choice of pink argyle to soften up the evilness.

The three LEDs on the flap (supposedly) show you how much Wi-Fi action is within 50 meters. If the lights are blinky, you’ve got bupkis. If they’re solid, you’ve got a wifi signal. Question: why couldn’t they just make the lights turn competely off if there’s no signal? It seems inane. Still, if you’re worried these will keep you awake all night with their blinking, don’t fret- the LEDs only become activated when pressure is detected on the insole, or in layman’s terms, if you’re walking around.

These kooky kicks are a collaborative project by mstrpln and Ubiq. Their goal was to merge “digital culture with fashion and design into a wearable technology.” I think they got the digital part down OK, but the fashion thing is questionable, eh? Generally I think of blinky light-up shoes as the bailiwick of the under-8 set.

These awesome hand-painted Pac-Man shoes turned up recently in a Flickr photostream from someone going by the name thekalaka. I’m not sure if they’re for sale, but thekalaka.com sees to be a Brasilian boutique specializing in urban wear, so if you happen to be in São Paulo Buenos Aires, you might be able to pick up a pair.

For the rest of us, we’ll just have to admire them from a distance. Wakka, wakka, wakka.

Apparently, there’s a complete Nintendo Entertainment System stuffed inside of this Nike tennis shoe. Not since Maxwell Smart’s shoe phone has there been such a great combination of footwear and technology.

According to the description, the watch will feature wireless integration with Nike+ in-shoe sensors. It can then display distance, pace, elapsed time and calories burned information on the watch’s LCD backlit display. A USB port is provided for downloading data to the Nikeplus website for historical progress tracking. As one would expect with such a leak, no pricing or release date was revealed.
