Over on Etsy, you can now purchase a tiny little LCD TV for your dollhouse.

The TV measures about 3.74″ (w) x 2.24″ (H) x 0.67″ (D), which I guess makes it the equivalent of a somewhat thick 42-inch HDTV in 1/12th dollhouse scale. But I guess that all depends on the size of your dolls. If you’ve got really small ones, you can pretend it’s a 70-inch set, right?

The tiny TV was made by a guy named Amatheria over in Seville, Spain (he also makes tiny IKEA furniture), and it even can play video and audio that you load into it via a USB connection (but not over-the-air TV). The TV itself appears to be made from plastic and cardboard, and is engraved with various speaker and button details, as well as logos for the guy who made it.

The only thing not to like about this little TV is the price – it’s listed for €195, which works out to be about $284 (USD). I’m pretty sure you can get an actual 42-inch TV for just a little more than that at Wal-Mart these days. Sure, developing a shrink-ray will set you back a couple of billion dollars, but that’s okay, right?

Thankfully, this dancing monkey won’t fling poo all over your house, rip your face off, or make you buy Windows ME. Nope, the fantastically named Magic Music Monkey simply plugs into your music player, listening to his own little silver headphones, and jams out to your tunes. That’s it, and he’s damned proud of it.

Z Gallerie sells the Magic Music Monkey for $29.95 (USD), but they’re currently sold out (boo!). If you’re willing to try a little JPY to USD conversion, you might be able to find one over at Japan’s Flyers99, but then again, your monkey might only dance to J-POP.

Over at AnimalsWithLightsabers they do one thing, and one thing only. They put dangerous lightsabers in the hands of woodland creatures, pets and other animals. Actually, they don’t. You do. All of the wacky photos and videos are contributed by people just like you and me – with a little PhotoShop or video compositing skill and a sense of humor. They even take care of the hard part by providing lightsaber images you can layer onto your own pet’s photos. Here are some of my favorites:

Designed and choreographed by custom robot builder Sumy Family, the bots were clad in grass skirts and native garb, and programmed to do some traditional Hawaiian dance as part of the final round of the 2007 ROBO-ONE competition at a Hawaiian-themed resort in Japan.

If you think that’s a bit expensive for a single video clip, keep in mind that the creators of the iYule are donating a portion of their profits to charity. For the cheapskates among us, you can probably find a video clip of a fireplace over on YouTube to achieve the same result.

Captain Ødegård’s giant-sized wood media player measures in at 8.25″ x 5.5″ x 2″, giving it about 90-times the volume of a regular Zen Stone player. He even got out the old woodburner to provide all the logo and control icons.

Just try and lug one of these around the next time you need to store something on a flash drive. As a matter of fact, I’d think it would be impossible to use this without a USB cable. Thankfully, this one appears to be a one-off that won’t make it to market.
