This gigantic Darth Vader soap weighs a full 1 kilogram (~2.2 pounds), and is sure to last you a very long time in the bath. At that size, it’s about 10 times the weight of an ordinary bar of soap, so you’ll probably need to slice it up to use it. It’s made by Etsy seller La Pretentieuse (The Pretentious), using their bamboo and spices soap as a base. While I never quite imagined that the aroma of the Dark Side was bamboo and spices, I suppose it’s better than the smell  of Anakin’s burnt flesh and sweat.

You should note that since the jumbo Vader soap is made with black oxide, that it’s lather will be grey – despite the fact that it’s getting you clean. I like to think that bathing with this would eventually pull you over to the Dark Side, but that’s just me.

Priced at $85(USD), it’s definitely the most expensive bar of soap I’ve ever seen, but somebody has to help fund the construction of the next Death Star I suppose.

The pieces are life-size – the king is about 3″ tall while the pawns are about 1.75″ tall – so you really can play with them if you want to. There is one caveat though – the pieces have flat backs, a compromise to their soapy side.

You can order a chess soap set from Etsy seller A Breath of French Air for $24 (USD). The sample pieces shown here are black and white, but you can customize the colors and even the scent of your order with fragrances like lavender, lemongrass and green apple. I’m not sure if you can get them to make you a soap chessboard though.

While you probably don’t have a need for a Rubik’s Cube in your house these days, you definitely need to take a bath from time to time to keep from stinking. So why not make it fun, and grab this Rubik’s Cube soap block, from DigitalSoaps?

This thing is a dead-ringer for the original puzzle, with all the perfect grooves and 54 colorful stickers hand-applied to the underlying form. Only the bottom is a little different (it’s completely flat), presumably because that’s how the soap molding process works. Still, it’s got yellow stickers on it, but you probably don’t want to show off that side.

Just like the original Rubik’s Cube, you’ll need to peel off the stickers to solve this puzzle – unless you want a bunch of stickers stuck to your bottom when you get out of the tub. Unlike the original Cube, this one smells like grape soda. This was only the case with the original if your little brother got out those Mr. Sketch scented grape markers and drew all over yours.

These stackable soaps were made by Digitalsoaps and come in three different scents and colors, including “The Executive”, a set made of black, gray and white pieces. Because nothing says you’re a person of authority like owning video-game themed soaps.

Thankfully, all you need to do to rescue R2 is to take a bath or ten. You know you probably need to hose off anyhow, you scruffy-looking nerf herder. You definitely work up a sweat fighting the Empire all day. Once you eventually work your way through the clear, lavender-scented exterior, you’ll get to the chewy candy center find that R2 himself is actually made out of soap too.

Actually, the reason that BlackWyrmDesigns encased R2 inside a clear block of soap was so you can enjoy him in the bath for much longer than if he were fully-exposed to the elements. Good idea. And if one R2 unit isn’t enough, you could always go for a double:

Keep in mind that the twins are miniature versions of R2, so you’ll probably wear them down quicker. Both the R2-D2 ($8 USD) and R2-D2 twins ($7) soaps are available over at BlackWyrmDesign’s Etsy shop.

A pretty neat solution? Fruitwash labels.

They’re fruit stickers that turn to fruit soap when rubbed under running water. Aside from eliminating the need to go out and buy some fruit and produce soap, you can just go rub-a-dub and wash off water-resistant wax, fungicides, and pesticides off of your fruit.

Scott Amron came up with the concept for these Fruitwash labels just recently, and I’m surprised why someone hasn’t already done so earlier. Scott is currently selling off a 10% stake in the Fruitwash label intellectual property (in other words, patents) for anyone who wants to participate in this unique invention.

Bearing a striking resemblance to the ADB mouse that came with my old Macintosh IIci, this bar of soap will sure brings back memories, while also getting you squeaky clean. It’s made by Kylee Lane of SoapLane, from Earth-friendly ingredients, and with no animal by-products or testing.

Best part about this Macintosh mouse soap?  It actually smells like McIntosh apples. The fruit, not the computer, that is. Mac-heads can grab a bar over on Etsy for just $7.50 (USD). 3.5″ floppies not included.

They resemble doll hands, which is probably because that’s how etsy seller foliage makes them, by creating molds from doll hands and then making creepy soap. You get 8 hands in different shapes and colors, with sizes ranging from 3/4” to 2” tall for $16 (USD).

If they were holding little gadgets that would make them a bit cute. Hey look, babies holding gadgets! But all I can think of are these hands slowly rising up from a counter and grabbing at me like a horde of Demon babies. How could you ever feel clean using these? Excuse me while I shudder and scrub myself until I feel clean. (Using non-hand hand soap.)

The Halo soaps are not just available in different colors, but in different scents as well. The green Spartan has a Mountain Dew scent, the red has a Dr. Pepper scent and the blue has a Pepsi scent. Sorry Coke fans.

So what better way for you to get that time and space funk off but with a bar of TARDIS soap.

While it’s unclear if this TARDIS (Type 40 TT) soap bar is any larger on the inside than out, it’s a sure thing that it smells like roses (not Rose Tyler, although I have it on good authority that she smells like daisies.) Each bar measures 4.5″ tall by 2″ square, and weighs in at a substantial 8.5 oz. Each one is made by Etsy seller Luxury Lane Soap using environmentally-friendly natural ingredients, and they’ve never been tested on animals (nor was the TARDIS for that matter).

The TARDIS Type 40 TT soap sells for $16.99 (USD) over on Etsy.

Perfect for Portal fans (or if your name just happens to be Chell,) this 9 ounce handmade cube soap is guaranteed to help you solve puzzles in your bathroom – although it doesn’t come with a functional Aperture Science Handheld Portal Device. Still, it should help to hold any buttons down that you might have in your bathroom – maybe the one that turns on the whirlpool would be a good start.

The Enrichment Center reminds you that you can purchase the Soapy Companion Cube over at Digitalsoaps’ Etsy shop for $23 (USD). GLaDOS insists that you buy one so that you can continue to test. Just don’t toss it into a fire when you’re done with it.

While it doesn’t have quite the luster of the real Razer Orochi mice, everything else is spot on. It’s even got an awesome “Dragon’s Blood” scent (not that I know what their blood smells like). Digitalsoaps originally made a batch as a prize in a Razer contest, but she decided to make and sell 50 more.

The soap glows with a sickly, radioactive green light and the front is printed with the periodic table element marking for Uranium. The soap has to be exposed to light to glow, much like anything else that has glowing properties.

The strangest thing about this soap isn’t the glow, it’s the scent. The bar of soap smells like the ocean. I assume that means salt and rotten fish. In the case of the Texas Gulf Coast, the soap might be crude oil scented. A bar will cost you $6.99 over at Perpetual Kid.

The grilled sausage scented iPhone soap was made by Boston area soap enthusiast Twoeggplants. The overall weight of the soap is around 3.75 ounces, in case you care how much your soap weighs.

Thankfully, it’s not only available in the grilled sausage scent. You can order a bunch of different aromas, because I don’t know who in their right mind would use a soap to smell like a fast food joint. But hey, if that’s what you’re looking for, then go right ahead! While this particular bar has already sold, Twoeggplants has got some nice Game Boy soaps as well. However, those smell like peanut butter and jelly, so they’re not exactly a good substitute for smoked sausage..

Based on the design of the original NES gun controller, the soapy version comes in “energy citrus” scent, and is guaranteed not to be able to shoot down any pixelated ducks on your TV. But it might shoot bubbles at the duckies in your tub. While it looks awesome on this side, the backside is flat and lacking detail – presumably because of the mold they created to cast this soap. But I won’t hold that against them. It’s still cool.

What’s especially cool about these soaps is that some of the more gnarly strains actually glow in the dark. These handmade soaps are available in a variety of “infected” flavors, including E. Coli, H. influenzae, Serratia marcescens and Salmonella. Yummy. Nothing like getting clean by lathering up with germs!

GEEKSOAP makes these fun soap bars that look exactly like carts from the NES, N64 and Game Boy.

I suppose the reason there are no Gamecube or Wii versions is that those would be some awfully thin bars of soap.

They sell for between $2 and $6 bucks a bar, and are available in lime mint scented or unscented versions. Just don’t try and actually plug these things into your console – unless you need to clean out your cartridge slot.

From the photos that I’ve seen, this is a pretty good likeness of Solo frozen in carbonite from Empire Strikes Back. Alright, so this is only a bar of soap, not carbonite. Instead, these bars of soap are made from pure olive oil, shea butter, and aloe vera. Still, it’ll make you smile each morning when you get into shower (until it melts).
