The MiniWoouf sofa was designed by Barcelona, Spain design shop Woouf!, and is a dead ringer for the original synthesizer, complete with all of its knobs for adjusting its sound waveforms. Of course, the sofa doesn’t actually play any notes when you sit on it – which I think is a good thing. I think that would get really annoying, really quickly.

I’m not sure how much the MiniWoouf sofa sells for, but if you head on over to the Woouf! website, you can get in touch with them and you’ll also find a variety of other cool music-themed furniture, including amp an boombox stools, and synthesizer benches and foam pillows.

Probably picking up on this cue, Tembolat Gugkaev designed the Softa Outdoor Bench that’s not exactly a bench and not exactly a sofa. You can see that it basically looks like a sofa but it won’t feel like one. That’s because it’s made from fiberglass and carbon(fiber?) so it’s water, heat, cold, and bump resistant.

On Softa, Gugkaev says that he knows “the world will be ruled by beauty and harmony” someday, so why not add an artistic element to our street benches?

I doubt it’s a very practical design given how much space it takes up and how much material is needed to make it, but it’s a fun and comfy looking design nonetheless. What do you think?

One major advantage to such devices is that they’re often more handy and way more convenient to install and use rather than the conventional item that already has it built in instead.

However, that’s one advantage that the n•a•p Massaging Bed Rest doesn’t really have. It’s sort of a contraption that’s meant to be placed on top of your bed so you can recline and do whatever it is that you do normally on a couch or La-Z Boy there instead. Aside from a built-in massager, the n•a•p Massaging Bed Rest comes equipped with an LED light for easy reading, huge side pockets to fit random stuff, and a cup holder.

Measuring 71″ x 35″ when fully inflated, the Blow Sofa is made of a couple of dunnage bags, which are made from scrap wood and are traditionally used as cushions or airbags for cargo. A couple of rubber straps tied to what seems to be an easy to assemble metal rack hold the bags together.

I’m sure I wouldn’t be able to fill up the bags on my own, but it’s nothing that a small air pump can handle. I could see myself buying one of these, as long as designer Malafor changes the sofa’s name.

The sofas were made by creative design studio Cabracega for last year’s International Festival for the Post-Digital Creation Culture (OFFF). As you can see (you’ll have to squint a little) the sofas have USB cables coming out of them. The 4 sofas store a total of 14GB of files which doesn’t seem like a lot, but I’m pretty sure no other storage device can accommodate up to 4 people. Top that Brando!

The USB Sofas are meant to encourage people to share porn content, but depending on who you’re hanging out with it might also help spread malware instead.

Auto-modder Edd China of Cummfy Banana has fabricated these ridiculous motor vehicles, fashioned to look like ordinary furniture. In addition to the speedy bed pictured above, he’s also built an oversize office desk on wheels, complete with multiple swivel chairs.

But his pride and joy is the “Casual Lofa,” which was once listed in the Guinness Book of Records as the “world’s fastest furniture”. The Lofa is a motorized sofa that tops out a speed of 87 MPH. (Edd beat his own record sofa speed in 2007, by getting a sofa to drive 92 MPH – go figure).

If you happen to live in the UK, you can get a chance to take a ride on all of these vehicular monstrosities thanks to a special “day at the races” tour package that lets you experience them all.

The guys over at IWantOneOfThose are now offering the World’s Wackiest Racers package, which includes rides on all three of these oddball pieces of furniture, as well as a funky double-decker car. The 3 hour experience is conducted with a group of up to 6 participants, and will set you back £99 (appx.$163 USD).

The speakers on either side of the chair have an output of 2-watts each; the 4.5-watt subwoofer and amplifier are mounted inside. The system plugs in to an AC power supply for power. TheMUR-01 will be available in Japan by mid-July for ¥19,800 ($207 USD). It also comes in black. Smiling Caucasian not included.

Apparently a computer shop had about twenty old Mac IIs and IIfx computers lying around gathering cobwebs and decided to build a sofa out of the technological dinosaurs.

Since each Mac II was originally designed to hold a heavy 20-inch CRT on top, the couch has no problem supporting the rear ends of numerous couch potatoes. Regardless, my ass hurts just looking at the thing.
