If you’ve ever been stranded somewhere with zero reception, then you’re one of the millions who will appreciate the Spray-On Antenna system that Chamtech has developed.

You might have done a little double take because of how unreal it sounds: An antenna you can spray on?

But Chamtech’s co-founder Anthony Sutera claims it might just be the solution to everyone’s bad reception woes. In the video presentation about the product, he explained: “We have come up with a material that when you spray it on, it lays out just in the right pattern and all of these little capacitors charge and discharge extremely quickly in real time and they don’t create any heat.”

Sounds like some sort of miracle product, but does it work? One of the results from Chamtech’s tests revealed that an RFID chip with a 5-foot range was turned into an RFID chip with a 700-foot range. There are also reports that the United States government is also looking into this technology.

For something that sounds incredibly groundbreaking, one can only wonder what could be the possible side effects of such a substance. I know I am.

My dad loved his old, ratty couch to pieces. It was the one he sat on for all those Super Bowl games and NBA Finals through the years, and it showed. My mom was always ragging on him to either throw it out or get it upholstered, and he obviously chose the latter. Something went horribly wrong at the upholsterers’ and the couch ended up getting ruined.

He has since gotten a new couch, but my mom keeps her mouth shut about it nowadays. But anyway, had he waited a few more years, he probably wouldn’t have had to go and get it upholstered because he could have just painted over it instead with one of these Simply Spray Fabric Paints. And it’s appropriately called the Upholstery Paint.

But there’s more to the Simply Spray line than meets the eye. Aside from the basic fabric paints, there’s also the Stencil Spray, Paint It Black, Puff Paint, and even Spray Blood.

The Stencil Spray boasts that it looks like a silkscreen, while Paint It Black turns your once-black clothing items back to, well, black. Spray Blood is (obviously) spray-on blood, while my favorite of the bunch is Puff Paint, where the paint sort of puffs up when you heat it with a dryer.

You can get all of the Simply Spray paint sprays online from SprayPaint4Fabric and Fabric Spray Paint.

Turbo Tango Aerosol Beverages: Spray It, Don’t Sip It

It used to be that whipped cream packaged in aerosol cans was the only foodstuff I’d consider spraying straight into my mouth. It’s a common scene you see in movies when teenagers or kids go wild and just start spraying stuff all over the place.

If you’ve ever had the urge or desire to spray stuff into your mouth that isn’t fattening or cholesterol-filled, then you might want to give the Turbo Tango aerosol beverages a squeeze.

You might find yourself looking as happy as the guy in the ad above.

The company behind the Tango drinks, Britvic, revealed that they actually teamed up with 40 developers from all over the world to come up with the first ever aerosol fruit drink.

The drinks are actually targeted towards teenagers, who have apparently become bored with what’s available in the beverage industry today. At least, that’s what Britvic’s marketing director, Simon Stewart, said.

Lastly, probably more as a warning than an instruction, the labeling on each canister reads: “Hold upright and squirt in your mouth (and nowhere else).”

These Turbo Tangos are set to be released in the UK initially on August 19. The Turbo Tango is priced at £1.60 (~$2.50 USD) for each 375 mL of pure orange and fizzy goodness.

Vaporware manufacturer DuroSports Electronics wants to ease the transition from paper books to e-books with their Smell of Books scented sprays, specifically designed for e-book readers. Not. This is the kind of idea that’s so stupid it’s awesome, and for a while you’ll wish it was true. Then it’ll just be plain stupid. Right now though, the Smell of Books is a hoot:

I lol’d at Eau, You Have Cats. DuroSports went the extra mile and even concocted a scandal with the Author’s Guild, obviously a parody of the Kindle text-to-speech snafu. The Guild’s “statement” claimed that the Smell of Books was violating the “olfactory rights” of authors, so DuroSports had no choice but to pull out their aerosols for now.
