Valentine’s day is fast approaching. It’s probably the one day of the year that most singles love to hate for a variety of reasons. And if you still don’t have a ring on that finger, then maybe you’d like this ring instead: the Killer Ring.

It’s not a ring that was made to have people kill other people, literally. But it does look pretty, and not just pretty unusual, right?

If you take a closer look at the ring, you’ll notice that its (artificial) diamond has been positioned into the frame upside down. That means the pointy side is up and the flat side is facing downwards – making for one deadly looking piece of jewelry.

In a way, you could consider this ring to be sort of, well, an anti-ring. The perfect anti-ring for the anti-Valentine.

The Killer Ring is available from Generate. The sterling silver version sells for just $109 (USD), but you’ll have to add another $740 if you want it in 14K white or yellow gold.

I sure miss Mystery Science Theater 3000. My fondest memories of the show are way back in the Joel Hodgson era, but these days, just seeing a picture of Crow, Tom Servo or Gypsy makes me giddy. Now I only wish that I could pull off this MST3K pendant to show my love for the classic sci-fi comedy show.

Just like the setup of the show – where Joel (or Mike) sat with the robots and made fun of bad “B” movies, this handmade pendant makes your favorite photo the subject of their humorous jabs.

The MST3K locket is made by Laura of PicaPicaPress, and it’s the perfect place to house a picture of a loved one with a good sense of humor. After all, they’re going to be perpetually belittled within an inch of their lived by this outer-space peanut gallery. I suppose you could wimp out and put some sci-fi movie still in there. Pretty much any scene from the re-released Star Wars Blu-ray collection should do the trick – especially from Episode I. Robot Monster always works wonders.

Girls, if you consider yourself among the remaining MSTies out there, head on over to Etsy, where you can grab up this locket for $60 (USD). Be sure to wear it the next time you find yourself trapped on the Satellite of Love.

After you return that ill-fitting sequined Quacker Factory sweater your aunt got you, why not turn around and spend that money on one of these nifty 8-bit pixel pendants.

Handmade by Nicholas D’Amario of Sketchy-Stories, these pendants feature some great retro video game designs. Each one is handmade from .925 sterling silver and features a pixelated image of 8-bit Mario, a health heart, or a skull of death. If pixels aren’t your thing, check out this substantial controller pendant, cast from the D-Pad from an old NES controller and accented with black enamel.

Prices for the pixel pendants range from $44 to $48 (USD) without a chain, and the D-pad sells for $85, including a black cord. They’re available over at Sketchy-Stories Etsy shop.

Been invited to a wedding, a business dinner, a funeral, or some other stuffy event, but still want to look cool? Were those 8-bit video game ties a bit too garish for your stuck-up friends? These metal gamer cufflinks are perfect for showing your gamer spirit in a slightly more subtle way.

Wii fan? Don’t want to wear a pair of PS2 Dual Shocks on your wrist? That’s okay because they’ve also got these little Wii-mote controller cufflinks too.

And if you’re looking for something a little more cross-platform friendly, check out the Guitar Hero cufflinks.

My fingers hurt just thinking about how tiny those frets and strum bar are. Try playing Through The Fire And Flames on Expert one of these.

The sterling silver Dual Shock and Wii-mote links will set you back a pricey $150 (USD), while the silver plate GH guitars will run you just $50 bucks. You can find all three designs over at Cufflinks.com.

I really think we need to start a new trend. Everyone needs to start wearing cufflinks again (did they ever?) At least that would give me a good excuse go around wearing these retro video game studs on my shirt sleeves.

Jewelry artist Dedalo makes a variety of sterling silver men’s accessories, but these Space Invaders cufflinks are my personal fave. What’s that you say? You like Pac-Man more than Space Invaders?

Both Pac-Man and Ghost editions (complete with textured pixel blocks) can also be found in the artist’s jewelry line.

Unless you’re always going to weddings and fancy-schmancy parties, you’ll just have to keep them in your dresser drawer until my cufflink trend takes off.

You can check out all of Dedalo’s jewelry over on his Etsy shop.
