I hope they don’t get sent to Tatooine for their honeymoon and spend the entire time looking for droids. Or worse yet, get sent to Endor and get beat up by Ewoks. This cake comes from Sweet on Cakes. I especially like how the bride-trooper is in her gown.

This 6′ 4″ tall Stormtrooper cake was created by Amanda Oakleaf Cakes for the Arisia Sci-Fi Convention in Boston. It took ten people two weeks to complete it and it weighs about 300 pounds. If you’re wondering how it manages to stand up under the weight of all that cake, fondant, and Rice Krispie treats, it’s got a lightweight PVC skeleton keeping things in place.

If you want more details on how they did it, the bakery posted a photo gallery that shows the process of the build. How many does it feed? Well, it was eaten by about 600 people. Sadly, I was not one of them.

His shots of LEGO Star Wars minifigs are quite offbeat, but this one is so ludicrous that it makes sense. Stormtroopers do need to check up on the Facebook status of their Imperial friends, especially Darth Vader, and take care of “important” business, while still being the footsoldiers of the Empire.

You can order the suit in either black or white, but delivery won’t be until Q2 of 2012. You get the jacket, pants, gloves and boots for about $1,143(USD). If you like, you can also buy the pieces individually. You just need to supply the helmet.

The trays are made from durable silicone, and cast six large cubes of either the Dark Lord or his white armored minions. To really get the most out of these, I’d fill the Darth Vader ones with grape juice and the Stormtrooper ones with something white, like coconut milk or frozen piña coladas.

I think those white and black(ish) cubes would look much cooler floating in a glass of clear liquid too. Since the trays are made from silicone, they’re actually heat-resistant too, so you could also use them to bake some evil cookies or mini cakes.

But wait, there’s more! They’ve also revealed these sweet Millennium Falcon and X-Wing Fighter trays too. Sweet.

The Falcon seems better suited to baking cookies or larger frozen desserts though, while the X-Wing seems the perfect size for ice cubes.

All four of the new silicone trays will ship in May 2012, and can be pre-ordered from Kotobukiya’s U.S. website. Darth Vader, Stormtroopers, Millennium Falcon and X-Wing Fighter ice trays each sell for for $10 (USD). If you want an early jump on them, you might want to check out NCSX, who claims to have a January 2012 release date.

I definitely like this all-black look. It seems more appropriate for the Empire than white. Unfortunately, these suits weren’t cheap to fabricate. If you want an inkling, they mention that the cost would be enough to purchase a pretty nice car.

As an alternative, if you want this look, you could try and cover a standard plastic suit with some carbon fiber vinyl decals but you’d never get the finish of these awesome suits.

The armor looks so good, that Carson’s employer, San Diego Composites wants to display one of the suits in their lobby.

Now this particular R2 unit seems to have flipped his lid, but that’s only so you can get at the minty goodness inside, and not because he has a bad motivator unit. It’s hard to tell from the picture, but each mint is also shaped like a little R2-D2 too. It’s too bad that there’s no matching C-3PO candy tin, because they’d look pretty good standing alongside each other on your desk. Oh well, one droid is better than no droids, I suppose.

On the other hand, they will be offering Stormtrooper, Darth Vader and Death Star mints, which freshen your breath with the full power of the Dark Side of the Force.

Nada’s Star Wars-inspired design incorporates a Stormtrooper helmet into the face of the case. It looks like Nada had to tweak the design of the helmet to fit it into the space, but that’s okay by me. It’s still awesome. For the time being, this is just a render of a potential mod, and hasn’t been built yet. But at least Nada won the contest and the case, so hopefully he will actually build it now.

Better yet, I think Corsair needs to call up Nada and Lucasfilm and work out a deal to produce these. Given the massive buzz that the Star Wars Xbox 360 case has gotten, I’m sure they’d sell more than a few.

StarWarsRemix is a collaboration between Noah and Mica Scalin, Emma Beddows, and Scott Walker. The goal is to make Star Wars characters, things or vehicles out of everyday objects. It’s a pretty cool idea, and anyone can submit their projects. Freehand Profit is the guy behind the MASK365 project.

The helmet was made from a couple of pair of Superskate Stormtrooper mids, and is being auctioned off on eBay right now. At the time of writing, the current bid was $1,025 (USD), but the reserve has yet to be met.

This adidas Stormtrooper was one of many costumes shown off at Dragon*Con, during the conference’s yearly cosplay parade that took place in Atlanta, GA, last weekend. The parade started in 1987, and this year, there were over 40,000 attendees. Apparently, there were just a few Star Wars-themed costumes on hand.

It usually takes place every year on Labor Day weekend. Next year, it will happen on August 31 to September 3rd. If you love costumes and cosplay, then you just might want to check it out.

This hunky good-looking kind-hearted Australian plans to walk from Perth to Sydney while in costume. That’s around 4,100 kilometers or 2,547 miles, and while he’s covered up all over in his suit, too.

It might look like a pretty easy thing to do, but there’s no doubt that it’s going to get pretty hot and stuffy in that suit, especially during the warm and sunny afternoons. Proceeds from Paul’s trek across Australia will go to the Starlight Foundation, which is a charity organization that dedicates its time and resources to aid sick and hospitalized children. You go, Paul!

After Darth Vader took some time off, it’s nice to see that his underlings also get to take a vacation too. Rebels? Nah, let the sandtroopers or scouttroopers take care of them while stormtroopers take a greatly deserved break. Who says that stormtroopers don’t get to have any fun?

ThinkGeek is now stocking hoodies in three Dark Side variants: Boba Fett, Stormtrooper and Darth Vader. I have to say that until you flip the hood up on the Boba Fett one, it could actually pass as something pretty fashionable. Of course, once you pop the facemask over your head and you check out the jet pack on back, all bets are off.

On the other hand, if you walk into a bank wearing either the Stormtrooper or Darth Vader hoodies with the facemask zipped up, you’ll get yourself arrested or sprayed with pepper spray quickly – especially if you come wielding a blaster rifle or a red lightsaber.

The date on the photo says that it’s from 2001-2002 and that it comes from Daftweb. It’s hard to tell with these guys to be honest, because their helmets just look so futuristic. There are other images of this happening, but none of them looks as cool as the original.

I haven’t been able to find out much about it, but this has to be bad news. I wonder if the Empire will consider those Daft Punk guys to be friends or foes.

This menacing mask was made by Etsy seller EpicLeather, and is hand-crafted from Veg Tan leather, with rivet accents. It’s lined with foam and suede for comfort. The mask’s creator says that he’s worn one on his bike at up to 85MPH, and it provides great wind resistance (although he’s quick to point out that it’s not a safety device).

While the mask pictured here is in a natural color, the stormtrooper mask can be ordered in a variety of colors, including white – which is the only color that I think makes sense. You can get your hands on one over at Etsy for $199.99 (USD).

Honestly, if I saw a dude getting off his bike wearing one of these in the brown leather, I’d think the apocalypse was upon us. On the other hand, if I saw him wearing one in white, with a matching helmet, I’d probably go up to him and start quoting lines from Return of the Jedi.

These smaller-than-normal Charm City Cakes are called “Cakes for Two”, but actually feed fifteen people (or two really hungry Technabob readers) and come in a variety of fun designs. But the ones I care about are based on iconic Star Wars characters like Fett and this Stormtrooper.

From the looks of the photos, it actually looks like their helmets have been put through some sort of head-slicing machine that didn’t quite get the decapitation right. Mmmmm. Tasty, tasty decapitation. Each cake is 8-inches across and has three layers of goodness inside. The worst part about these cakes? The price. They sell for $250 a piece – which works out to appx. $16.67 a slice for you mathematicians – or about $125 a slice for me.

This image, titled “In Training” was posted by Reddit user Vandalay797 and it shows a snow trooper taking a toy AT-AT for a walk. It reminds me of that AT-AT that was behaving like a dog, except Fido gets to go outside in a more appropriate climate. I like the fact that he used snow trooper uniform, as clone troopers wouldn’t have been as accurate.

OK, so technically speaking, this isn’t a stormtrooper. It’s a sandtrooper. Still, it makes a lot more sense using stormtrooper than sandtrooper. Those pesky stormtroopers, they’ve been had so many times by Jedi that it’s only fair that they have their own little page to make fun of this situation.
