You have many options when it comes to finding that perfect Valentines Day gift for him or her. You could go the traditional route with flowers and chocolates, maybe get them that special gadget, or even make something. I don’t recommend you make this tasty treat. I’m pretty sure it sends the wrong message.

…unless the message you want to send is “eat my shorts,” of course. But if you are feeling brave, you can make these edible briefs in three easy steps. Just season some ground beef and create some sheets of it. Then carve up your these sheets into sections using your own briefs as a template. Then you just tie it together with Slim Jim string.

Lastly, present it to your Valentine and prepare to get smacked upside the head. Very simple process. But don’t. Really, just don’t!

Hasbro owns the Transformers brand, and they are now suing Asus over the name of its latest tablet, the Transformer Prime, which clearly has nothing to do with the franchise. Crappy movies are okay, just don’t use two words in the English dictionary that we have previously used, because we own those words. And kindly refer to all flying yellow and black stinging insects as something else Bumblebee is only a cool car, which also belongs to us (and Chevrolet.)

Hasbro filed the superfluous lawsuit last week, saying that the tablet’s name is too similar to its Transformers brand. It wants damages and a temporary injunction on the device, while sane and level-headed people just want Hasbro to shut up and churn out toys for the holidays.

Forget the fact that Transformers toys these days are pretty low quality and unimaginative too. I guess they would rather spend their time suing over something silly than offering a quality product, or insisting on a decent movie from their licensees. Merry Christmas from the folks at Hasbro.

I’m not really a big Transformers fan, but I think this is just stupid. What do you guys think? Is Asus really in the wrong here?

So I’m really not sure why you’d ever want to buy an iPhone case that looks like a flip-flop sandal, but that didn’t stop somebody in China from making them anyhow. It’s not like you’d ever want to wear your iPhone on your feet, would you?

These ridiculous cases look to me like the world’s most uncomfortable flip-flops, complete with that stupid strap that gets stuck between your toes. I hate that feeling. Of course, at the size of an iPhone 4, you’d have to have really small feet to fit them into these anyhow. And then you’d need to buy a second iPhone too. Oh yeah, then there’s the part where you step down and are now walking on two non-functional planks of broken glass under your feet. That said, you won’t actually wear the flip-flop case on your feet. Though I can’t imagine that toe strap would be comfortable in your pocket either.

If you’re a true beach bum (with an iPhone 4), then you can order up one of these flip-flop cases from Trait-Tech for just $1.99 (USD) each. They ship direct from China, so I imagine you’ll spend more on shipping than on the case itself.

Things can get crazy when you’re shopping for stuff on Black Friday. Sites crash, people wrestle each other for spots at the register, and some even think that it’s okay to pepper spray other shoppers to get ahead of the queue. Yes, you read that right: pepper spray.

An unidentified woman wanted to get her hands on a discounted Xbox 360 so much, that she decided to dowse other shoppers in her way with pepper spray. Alejandra Seminario, another shopper who happened to witness the entire thing, said: “People started screaming, pulling and pushing each other, and then the whole area filled up with pepper spray. After we paid, we saw five that were in really bad shape. They had been sprayed in the face, it looked like, and they had swelling of the face, really extreme swelling of face, redness, coughing.”

The pepper spray dispersed through the air, causing minor discomfort and itching to the other shoppers who weren’t directly caught in the face by the deranged woman. The crazy thing is, she was able to pay for her purchases and leave the store before the police arrived.

The pepper-spraying shopper was described to be Hispanic in between 32 to 38 years of age. She was described as standing at 5-foot-3 and weighing 140 pounds. She was said to have been wearing black pants and a black sweater during the incident.

For the sake of many, I hope she eventually gets caught! Shame on you, you pepper-spraying shopper!

Not sure how I missed this, but apparently PETA has a problem with Nintendo’s Super Mario 3D Land launch. The organization has taken aim at Mario himself, making it look like he has to kill a raccoon to wear that Tanooki suit from the game, and somehow that Nintendo is making the statement that they are pro-fur. Shouldn’t they be actually saving real-life animals?

Anyway, Nintendo has responded to PETA’s attack, schooling them on common sense and laying down the smack like a plumber’s foot on a Goomba.

Mario often takes the appearance of certain animals and objects in his games. These have included a frog, a penguin, a balloon and even a metallic version of himself. These lighthearted and whimsical transformations give Mario different abilities and make his games fun to play. The different forms Mario takes make no statement beyond the games themselves.

Seriously PETA, stick to helping real animals and we will all love you for it. It’s this kind of nonsense that makes you look like idiots and hurts your cause.

Attention parents who always buy the wrong thing: Nintendo will release a Holiday Wii bundle this October 23. I suggest that you don’t buy it. Even if the console and its controllers are in sleek black. Even it if it includes the New Super Mario Bros. game and a CD of the Super Mario Galaxy soundtrack. Because Nintendo is pulling a Sony here, removing backwards compatibility for Gamecube games.

This new, but worse Wii is also horizontal-only, while the older consoles can be positioned upright. That’s not a big drawback by any means, but it’s salt in the wounds of gamers who have been loyal to Nintendo. I’m still really disappointed that I can’t play PS2 games on my PS3 knowing that earlier the models had that capability. I wouldn’t want people who own both Wii and Gamecube games to feel that sting of disappointment either.

Fortunately you can still have a happy holiday and order the bundles that have the older version of the Wii – in both white or black –that supports Gamecube games. Those bundles – which come with a copy of Mario Kart Wii and the steering wheel accessory – are sold for $160 (USD), just $10 more than the stripped-down Holiday Bundle, but if you have several Gamecube games then I’m pretty sure this is still a no-brainer.

[via Nintendo & Video Game Nostalgia]

I get that you might need a keyboard to get things done with your tablet. It’s even better when that same Bluetooth keyboard doubles as a case and a stand, but iLuv’s new WorkStation series is a bit much for my taste.

The iMM737 WorkStation and the iMM517 WorkStation Pro take your iPad to the next level providing an adjustable desktop docking station for your tablet. The 737 includes a wired keyboard, while the 517 Pro has a Bluetooth keyboard. Both also double as high-quality speaker docks, and will work with the iPad, iPhone and other devices with a 30-pin dock connector.

You can get the iMM 517 from iLuv any day now, and the iMM737 will be released in November. For now, you could always buy the nearly identical iMM727 or iMM 514 speaker docks, and just add your own Bluetooth keyboard.

I don’t know what to make of George Lucas. He pisses me off with the changes to Star Wars he keeps making with each release. The Blu-ray version of the flicks are coming out on September 16 and I know I will buy them changes or not. Lucas had promised that changes would be in store, but one change is really shocking.

If you grew up on the original flicks as I did, you know that many of the changes made in the refresh before the last three films were not great. I don’t care that Han shot first in the original, here in Texas we are allowed to shoot first if we feel threatened and Han had more than a little Texas in him. It bothered me that Greedo shot first in the refreshed flick as did the tiny Jabba the Hutt sliding around.

Click to View Embedded Video Clip

Lucas has now confirmed one of the changes to the Blu-ray version of Return of the Jedi. In the pivotal scene of the entire franchise when Vader turns from the Dark Side in the original he tosses the emperor to his death in silence surprising us all. In the tweaked Blu-ray version Vader screams, “No!, Nooooo!” before tossing the emperor over. George, what’s with easing the tension in that scene so much? Are you hoping geeks that grew up on the franchise like me will be more likely to take our kids with less tension in the films? I’d rather explain what happened in that scene than why Luke makes out with his sister.

My dad recently signed up for a country club membership which cost him a whole lot of money and a whole lot of time. I don’t really get the point of club memberships because for one, we don’t really use the facilities much, and two, the food there isn’t so great.

My dad’s reply? “It’s all about the prestige; that’s the whole point.”

While I don’t agree with his views, I don’t really care that much to start an argument about the whole thing either.

Which is why, when I chanced upon the Elite750 Premier Email Club, I immediately thought back to my dad’s response, because it’s probably to people with the same line of thinking that the people behind the club are targeting for membership.

The Elite750 club boasts of being the “World’s Most Exclusive E-mail Address.” Only 750 email accounts with handles that are followed by @elite750.com will be issued. Now here’s the kicker: the initial sign-up will cost you $7,500 and then you’ll have to shell out $750 every month to maintain the address.

Talk about costly – and unnecessary.

Aside from accepting only 750 members from all over the world, Elite750 will also be offering a limited number of slots per country. The club is currently accepting applications for membership, with a pretty snotty disclaimer at the end of the paragraph in the application page: “Elite750 reserves the right to refuse membership without a stated reason.”

You can join here if you’re interested. But honestly, I think having an @gmail.com email address is a whole lot more convenient and sensible than having an @elite750.com email box (plus we’re being kept in the dark here about the features and functionality that their email boxes provide.)

I can just hear the gears in sex offender Robert Nicholas McGuire’s perverted mind turning. I bet this guy thought that if he used the computers in the Apple Store in downtown San Luis Obispo that authorities would never know he was violating his parole. Apparently, the convicted sex offender had on the terms of his parole the little caveat that he could not access the Internet.

McGuire was spotted by detectives on the Sexual Assault Felony Enforcement team and one of the detectives recognized McGuire. The detective followed McGuire into the Apple Store and watched as the man logged onto Facebook using the store demo computer. The detective then used a computer beside McGuire to log onto the Megan’s Law website.

On that site, the officer found details that clearly indicated accessing Facebook was a violation of McGuire’s parole. The officers waited for McGuire to leave the store and then arrested him outside. McGuire is now in the county jail without bail waiting for the next step, which sounds like prison.

I want to start this off by saying, BWAHAHAHAHA. As the story here goes, the police in Hampshire over in the UK were called by a concerned citizen with a startling report. A white tiger had apparently been spotted hiding in a field near a local golf course eyeing a quick bite of golfer for lunch. Naturally, the police responded.

They called the zoo, rounded up a team with tranquilizer guns, and sent them out in a helicopter to keep them from being eaten by sending them on foot. As the police neared the beast it likely sat quite still and didn’t care that the helicopter was hovering nearby and a shooter was taking aim. The reason said tiger was so meh about the copter soon became apparent when the tiger blew over thanks to the wind created by the helicopter.

Yep, the tiger that caused all the ruckus was a stuffed toy. Let me say again, BWAHAHAHAHAHAHA. I would have thought that upon receiving a report of a tiger on the loose the police would have done two things. Number one, someone would have at least used some binoculars to peep the tiger ahead of mounting a aerial assault on the beast. Number two, could the zookeepers not have ran over to the tiger cage and took a head count. Seriously, the stripes aren’t that confusing. The police are now searching for the owner of the stuffed toy. I wonder if they are using the helicopter to look for him.

I can’t imagine that many AT&T customers will be happy with the latest announcement from the company. AT&T is instituting data caps on its DSL and U-verse broadband services starting in May. The data caps are nowhere near as paltry as those you see on mobile broadband, but going from being able to use all the data you want to a limited amount will not sit well with lots of folks.

AT&T has announced that it will be sneaking out letters in the next week to subscribers on DSL to tell them their data limit will be 150GB monthly. U-verse subscribers get 250GB of monthly bandwidth. The first time a user goes over those amounts they will get a warning. The next time they will be notified when they reach 65%, 90%, and then 100% of their allotment.

According to AT&T, only 2% of their customers will be impacted by the new plan. AT&T says that it will communicate early and often with the people affected. If you go over your allotment, AT&T will charge you $10 per 50GB. The problem with caps is that with streaming from Netflix and Hulu booming, consuming a lot of data by streaming video is getting more and more common. These caps may only impact 2% of users today, but what about a year or so down the road when streaming video is much more widespread than it is today, and high def content becomes the norm? How many users will be affected then?

It’s hard to write this with all the laughing I’m doing at how supremely stupid this marketing stunt was. I mean if stupid was an Olympic event, these guys would win all the gold. Bryan Chester and his supervisor, Daniel Rawson – marketers at Dell in Round Rock, Texas, were arrested after a little stunt they pulled went wrong. The duo conceived what may well go down in marketing lore as the single dumbest thing ever.

Apparently, Chester dressed in a biker outfit and put on a skull mask, stormed into the office where other Dell folks worked and yelled at them all to get into the lobby while holding what some called “metallic objects.” Some of the scared workers called 911 and the SWAT team showed up.

The two were arrested and charged with Interfering with Public Duties and Deadly Conduct. The ill-conceived marketing stunt was to show off a new Dell Streak tablet that can interface with a Harley. I guess the guy in the mask was going for Ghost Rider. The part these two should be thankful of is that since Texas is a concealed carry state, they didn’t get shot. We can also be thankful Chester didn’t hone in on the “streak” connection and bust in naked.

We can always rely on the guys at CTA Digital to show up at CES with some goofy add-on for gaming consoles. This year is no different, and they’re showing a variety of silly business. My personal favorite (next to these inflatable karts for Mario Kart) is their bowling ball add-on for the various motion-controlled games out there.

This thing is rather ridiculous, especially the one for the Kinect, as it’s really just a plastic bowling ball with a wrist strap attached. At least the Wii version has controls built in, and the one for the PlayStation Move holds onto the controller.

Here’s a quick video clip I nabbed of the Kinect version in action.

Click to View Embedded Video Clip

Check out the incredible bowling skills of this CTA Digital employee as she knocks down a whopping one pin. At least she didn’t throw it through the screen.

Frankly, I don’t really get accessories like this. You can really only use them for a single game, and with the Kinect, you could just use an actual bowling ball if you wanted to be accurate. Just remember not to release it from your hand.

You know those little cardboard things that go around your cup of coffee at Starbucks? They’re actually pretty ingenious if you think about it. I mean, not only do they function as a buffer between the hot cup and your hand, but they can be used as a form of advertisement. So the company has found a way to bring advertising to their customers, while providing something useful. That’s just plain smart. So why do I hate these RuMe CUFF wallets so much?

After all, they too serve dual purposes. They keep your hand from getting burned, and hold your money. Just because you can make something that does two things, doesn’t mean you should. First, do you really carry a cup of coffee with you so often that it could actually replace your wallet? Second, do you have so few things in your wallet that it’s going to fit nicely around a cup of Joe? Third, and I can’t stress this one enough, you will throw this away at some point. No matter how hard you try, eventually you’ll chuck your cup into the trash instinctively, while donating your funds to the city dump.

There are probably a dozen other reason why this thing is a bad buy. Sure, it’s only $10. But then again, you already have a wallet, and you get one of those cardboard things for free with your coffee. The product page does mention that you can also use it as an armband as well. I still stand by my previous thoughts. Why waste time and money on this thing?

Now, I’ll start out by saying that unless I’m sitting in an igloo, my mousing hand doesn’t really get too cold. That said, if you’ve got poor circulation, you might want to keep your fingers warm while you’re using your mouse. I’m just not sure this is the best way to do it…

This ridiculous looking thing is designed to keep your fingers toasty and warm while you surf for porn or snipe some enemies in your favorite FPS. Frankly, I’d be worried that I’d trigger the cat’s gag reflex if I stuck my hand inside this USB heated cat head mousepad.

I suppose if you’re the type of person who would buy a Hello Kitty laptop, this thing might be for you. Otherwise, save yourself $36 bucks and buy a pair of gloves. Those would keep your keyboard hand warm too.

If you have never driven in a vehicle that had a lot of power under foot you might not know hard it is to keep a car in a straight line if you take off fast. I am not talking the 200hp V6 your mom’s car has. I am talking about cars with over 500hp. I can only imagine the level of dead I would be if I were to try to ride this crazy 630hp V8-powered skateboard.

The board was designed for an appearance Tony Hawk did in Australia. Apparently, the builders speed limited the thing so Hawk would survive the day and not ruin their event by dying. That thing looks like a death trap on wheels. Here’s a video of the skateboard being built (without Tony on it):

I can’t even ride a normal skateboard without cracking my ass half off. Put a seat and a steering wheel on this thing though and we could go carting. That would be cool.

I’m going to go on record right off the bat and say if you buy this MyPolarIce, the universe will kick you in the balls (if you have balls). Call it karma, call it whatever you want this is one of the single dumbest things I have ever seen for sale. That’s not even enough ice to chill a can of beer.

The company claims to take a chunk of ice from the cold waters up in the polar areas and then hack 1000 pieces of the ice off. The ice is then packed into a capsule, tossed in a box, and then sold to idiots who will pay about 24,95 euro (appx. $32.50 USD) for a single piece of ice.

The capsule that the ice is crammed into measures 9-inches and you are supposed to keep the ice in your freezer. I guess the idea is when the polar ice caps are all gone you will have your own piece of this precious ice. Of course should that happen we will all drown and it won’t be such a big deal at that point. Plus, your fridge will probably stop working due to the rising flood waters.

I would bet most of us at one time or another has run across that holiday season channel on TV where all you see is a crackling fireplace with holiday music playing. Yeah, it’s pretty stupid. I remember running across it as a kid, and thinking it was much lamer than other cool holiday programming like Charlie Brown or that one-year they played that Ewok Christmas special.

If you are the boring sort that likes to stare at a fake fireplace, Comcast has seriously upgraded the Yule log watching experience for this holiday season. You can now stare at the fake burning log in full 3D. I might watch it if they occasional showed some 3D boobage too.

I think the only thing worse than actually having to sit on the couch and watch the Yule log burn would be having to sit and watch it burn wearing 3D glasses, and getting a headache while doing it. Cleaning up wrapping paper would be more fun.

On occasion, I see a product and I just stand back and say “WTF?!?!” This is one of those moments. A very weird case for the iPhone has surfaced from Kalomix called the iBlackBoard. The case slides on your iPhone like any other case you might use. The outside if the case is coated in chalkboard material so you can draw on it with chalk.

I can’t imagine a bigger pile of fail than getting my iPhone all caked with chalk dust. This stuff makes you sneeze and is really annoying when it gets on your hands.

Click to View Embedded Video Clip

This thing even fails on its basic premise. What is the point of being able to write down notes on the back of your iPhone when you have an endless digital notepad inside the iPhone itself? That’s like carrying a paper day planner to hold your iPhone.
