Get ready to assemble your Avengers motorcycle gang with this awesome Captain America Motorcycle Suit from UD Replicas. It’s officially-licensed and is a nicely detailed replica of the suit worn in Captain America: The First Avenger.

All of the pieces are leather. The gloves, boots, belt, pants, and jacket. It includes removable CE approved body armor and a spine protector, which comes in handy for crashes since you yourself are (probably) not a super soldier like Steve Rogers.

The full outfit costs $1,290(USD), and that doesn’t include the shield or a helmet – but hey, this is still a quality suit for the price. If you pre-order from UD Replicas now it should arrive in late April. This is a must for Captain America fans who cruise the open road.

I’m one of those guys who thinks motorcycles are really cool, but I don’t ride one. I think it’s because I’ve always been convinced that I’d end up killing myself if I tried to negotiate the slick roads and maniac drivers of Chicago in the winter time. I actually knew a guy in college who rode a motorcycle and got in an accident and ended up as a paraplegic, so that doesn’t help with my anxieties.

But if I were to take up motorcycle riding, this would be protective gear which would convince me to ride.

Designed by Rejean Neron, the Safety Sphere is exactly what it sounds like. It’s a special bike suit that automatically inflates into a sphere, enveloping the rider and protecting them from injury if they ever go flying off the bike in a crash. The suit inflates to its full capacity in 5/100ths of a second, and fills with compressed air to cushion the impact. The sphere is made up of two layers of fabric, including an inner layer of thin elastic material, and an outer layer of parachute-type cloth. A battery connects to an electric ignition which triggers nitrocellulose canister, inflating the suit in the event of an impact.

Yes, the resulting expanded suit looks completely ridiculous. I’m reminded of that part of Willy Wonka where Violet Beuregarde turns into a blueberry, except this time you’ll be turning into a navel orange. Still, I’d rather look stupid than end up dead. From the looks of things, you might still need some Oompa Loompas to come rescue you after an accident, too.

It must really suck to be the person in charge of securing trademarks for Apple right now. Apparently, Apple thought that it had the trademark for the iPad name in China. Or at least it thought its team of legal ninjas could beat down the Chinese opposition that owned the trademark. In either case, Apple was wrong.

A company in China has had the iPad trademark since 2000. The company is called Proview Technologies and it actually sold the rights to iPad to another firm for the UK and other countries. That company then sold it to Apple. The problem was that apparently Chinese rights weren’t part of the original sale.

That means that Apple has been peddling the iPad in violation of the trademark in China for a while now. China is booming and important to most tech firms so Apple can’t just walk away. Proview is apparently looking for (imagine Dr. Evil as you read this next part) a billion dollars. Will Apple have to change its tablet’s name in China or pay up big time? That remains to be seen.

Luzinterruptus is a Spanish collective that is known for creating guerilla LED light installations in Madrid. This installation is called Radioactive Control and consists of 100 decontamination suits that are propped up like scarecrows, each one is illuminated with LEDs giving that ghostly look. This particular installation rattled the crowd of festival attendees. You can walk through this rural field and see them up close and personal.

This Iron Man Mark I suit was built by a Chinese guy named Wang Xiao Kang, and he built it from scratch. That’s saying a lot because this suit looks pretty darn great. Wang says that he had no prior DIY experience, but from the look of his suit, it’s pretty much on the mark when it comes to faithfulness.

Wang used up a lot of free time to build his suit. He started it off in February and tried to build a Mark III suit, but that didn’t work as well as he had planned. The Ethylene-vinyl acetate that he had used wasn’t as thin as he would have liked, which is why he decided to work on the thicker Mark I.

Click to View Embedded Video Clip

The suit weighs about 110 pounds, and even has a working LED Arc Reactor and battery-powered fans. His suit is quite imposing, and it’s amazing to hear that he spent only $460 on it. Now, he plans on returning to the Mark III suit and finish it to perfection.

Yes, I didn’t like TRON: Legacy all that much. However I did like the original 1982 TRON. My disdain for Legacy didn’t stop me from like this DIY hack, though. This dude made his own kinda sorta TRON suit.

This TRON LED-lit suit is actually pretty impressive. The suit is basically made out of silicone-coated LED strips and faux leather. Thanks to this four-step guide at Instructables, you can make your own. He says that he didn’t use EL Wire because it’s very fragile and hard to repair.

The maker of the suit, Sheetmetalalchemist says that it’s washable, robust, and even water-proof. Whatever his claims may be, the overall suit looks pretty awesome, especially since it’s homemade.

I think once you buy something you should be able to change it and modify it all you want. That means if you want to hack your Xbox to run homebrew software you should be able to. One Xbox 360 modder named Matthew Crippen found himself in court for allegedly modding Xbox consoles to allow the playing of pirated games and home brew software.

The charges were serious and Crippen faced as much as a decade in prison if convicted. The fly in the ointment for the prosecution came before the trial got started with the judge presiding over the case lecturing the prosecution. Apparently, the key video evidence of Crippen modding the consoles in his home was obtained in an illegal method.

After the judge chewed out the prosecution, they opted to drop the charges “based on fairness and justice.” I just don’t get it, we have rapists and drug dealers running around the country and we are actually trying to put people away for modding game consoles. Sometimes I wonder where the legal system went wrong. At least in this case, justice prevailed and the charges were dropped.

I really liked the first Iron Man flick. My son was too young to go and see the original in the theater, but he wanted to go see the second flick back at the beginning of the summer. We both walked out feeling that the movie sucked. The thing was nothing more than a setup for spin offs.

Someone has cobbled together a steampunk version of the Iron Man suit for a Marvel costume Contest at Comic Con in New York. The person who built the cool costume actually ended up wining the contest with their cool handy work.

Is it just me or does that arc reactor in the chest look like one of those lights you stick inside your closet? The costume is cool and I wish we had more details on the thing and how it was built. All we really get is this one picture of the thing. That one picture is worth more than the two hours Iron Man 2 stole from my life though.

The suit comes courtesy of Marc DeVidts from Miami and he recently wore it to Dragon*Con 2010 in Atlanta. It looks like his underwear lights up, which is kind of funny. They shine through and create a diffuse display.

Of course, the best part is that the light show can be fully controlled via an iPhone. There really is an app for everything.

This spiffy Guitar Hero necktie sports a set of colorful fret buttons which you can “play” with any time you like. While the only music you’ll hear is that damned tune that’s stuck in your head from last night’s marathon session, at least you can practice your expert mode chord progressions while your boss flips through his latest PowerPoint slides.

Made from “silky” black polyester, the Guitar Hero tie is available now from Zazzle for about $30. Rock on!
