Zelda: the Lost Oracle: Fan-Made Trailer for the Game We Wish Nintendo Would Make

It’s no secret that I have not been a fan of Nintendo for a few years now. It started with the Wii. No, it was the Gamecube. The Mario and Zelda and Metroid games that I have seen over the last several years have even disappointed me. They seem to be rehashing the same predictable games in different packaging (or 3D) and they don’t take seem to take many chances on anything but hardware these days. So, I’m going to pretend that Nintendo made this Legend of Zelda teaser and that the game will arrive with the Wii U. Which it will not.

Joel Furtado’s Zelda: The Lost Oracle animated trailer is just phenomenal. If Nintendo put half of the passion into their next Zelda game that is in this teaser video, they would be in their prime once more, raking in the dough.

Brilliant animation there, Joel. Now if only Nintendo would make this into a game…

Doctor Who: The Eternity Clock Trailer Released

After teasing us back in December, we now have the first full-length trailer for the new Doctor Who video game The Eternity Clock. I have mixed emotions about this one. It looks like the game will be combining old-school platforming with third-person action and cutscenes. I like everything about it, except for how the characters look and move.

From what I can make out in this trailer, the character’s faces all look a bit strange and at times very claymation-like. And look at how the characters all move around. Doctor Who needs to be cool, not look like he went back in the TARDIS and got stuck in an old copy of Prince of Persia. Let’s hope they work on tuning visuals a bit more before the final game releases this March.

Everything else looks great. Will I still play it? Of course. It’s Doctor Who. Will I enjoy it? Hopefully, but I doubt it – given the abysmal track record of game and TV show/movie tie-ins. What do you guys think?

Ridekick Trailer Turns Any Bike Into an Electric Bike

Have you ever wished that you had an electric bike, especially while hauling groceries home from the store? Well the Ridekick trailer promises to do everything an electric bike does, plus offer you some extra storage space as well. It also allows you to unhitch the trailer and go without using electric power.

The Ridekick trailer has got a 1HP/500W electric motor. The twelve amp-hour rechargeable battery is enough for a maximum range of 12 miles and a top speed of 20 mph. The throttle control can be affixed to your handlebars, and can be used to give you that little extra boost while hauling cargo or heading up a steep hill.

Ridekick costs $699 (USD), so it’s cheaper than the vast majority of electric bikes out there. It will certainly enable people who wouldn’t normally consider using bikes everyday to do so, thanks to the extra power.

The Dark Meadow for Android Gets a Teaser Trailer, Still Looks Great

I just told you about The Dark Meadow game being available for the Android platform and now a new teaser trailer has been released. The trailer gives you an idea of what you will find in the game when it’s launched in early 2012 on Android.

It looks pretty much like other horror games that you’ve played before (and the iOS version), but as far as graphics, it looks pretty impressive for a mobile game. That’s probably why Android devices will need a Tegra 3 chip to enjoy this game. The creators of the game promise enhanced visuals and physics thanks to nVidia’s latest chip. It’s not clear if there are any other enhancements for Android, but they’e calling it “The Dark Meadow: Deluxe Addition (sic) for Android,” so perhaps there will be other bonuses.

As mentioned told you last time, you can already get this game for iOS devices from the iTunes App Store for $5.99(USD).The Android version will arrive in early 2012.

Another Battlefield 3 Multiplayer Trailer Shows Up, Still Looks Awesome

The more I see, the more I can’t wait for this game. Battlefield 3 Multiplayer looks frakkin’ amazing and crazy. The game is still a week away from the official release, so EA and DICE thought it would be a good time to give us another look and get us drooling while we wait.

Below is a new trailer for the game that shows off some more of the gameplay across all of the game’s multiplayer maps. I can’t emphasize enough just how beautiful this game looks. The last trailer we showed you had so much intense and crazy fast action that it was hard to follow. This one is slower and so shows off more of what you are in for.

Super Mario Land 3D Trailer and Screenshots, Lets-a-go

Here’s what Mario fans have been waiting for. Nintendo has released a TON of Super Mario Land 3D screenshots and character renders for your enjoyment. I’m not a real big fan of the 3DS myself, but I have to say, this title makes me want to buy one just to play this game. It looks that good.

The 3DS platformer (actually it is part platformer, part 3D Mario) will arrive on November 13th. One of the problem’s that I have had with some recent Mario games is that they have strayed too far from the original platform formula. This has obviously been rectified with Super Mario Land 3D.

The game looks insane and appears to have just the right blend of old school/new school play. And all of our favorite characters seem to make an appearance, although I didn’t see Yoshi and I won’t be losing any sleep over that. So, who else is excited? Battlefield 3 Multiplayer Trailer: Jets, Tanks, Robots and More

I finally stopped playing Call of Duty: Black Ops awhile ago and have been waiting for a suitable multiplayer war game that really packs a punch. After one look at the multiplayer trailer for Battlefield 3, I think I have found my next major game purchase.

First let me just try to collect myself as I point out that this 64 player multiplayer combat game has jets! Yes jets. But that’s not all. They have thrown everything but the kitchen sink into this one.

One of the coolest things that you’ll notice in the trailer is the inclusion of military robots, which i am psyched about, because before Black Ops came out I was hoping that some robots would be in that game. Of course sadly they were not. In this game we have tanks, helicopters, robots, jets and enough explosions to make Michael Bay wet his pants and subsequently dry them with wads of money.

Sol Cinema is the World’s Smallest Solar Powered Theater

Green gadgets are cool, though at times they get to be a bit out there. The sweet Sol Theater has to be one of my favorite green things I have seen lately. The little theater is built inside a small travel trailer that’s powered entirely by the sun.

The trailer theater uses a LED projector that gets juice from that solar panel outside and stores it in lithium ion batteries inside to provide power for the theater to view short films. Apparently, the theater focuses mostly on flicks with a message and nothing with too much violence.

The theater seats eight people and has screened about 400 films so far. I don’t think I could watch a flick without some popcorn and AC blasting though; it looks like it would get hot inside that tiny theater.

Green Lantern Trailer: Superhero Reboot Du Jour

I’ve always had a weakness for superhero movies. It’s probably because I used to collect comic books when I was younger. I still read some from time to time, but I was really glad to see that Christopher Nolan was able to reboot the Batman series properly. Will the same be true for the Green Lantern movie, with James Bond director Martin Campbell at the helm?

In the film, test pilot Hal Jordan (played by Ryan Reynolds) stumbles onto a dying member of the Green Lantern Corps, an international police force, and is bestowed with a magical green ring and the powers to help protect this universe.

Metroid: Other M Samus Aran Retrospective: 24 Years of Alien Genocide

Metroid: Other M will be released at the end of this month, and to ramp up the hype, Nintendo turns to one of it’s greatest strengths – tradition. The latest trailer for the game recaps the story so far, from the original Metroid to present day.

I haven’t followed the series though so I don’t know why the Prime trilogy is not mentioned in the video. Or is it? Grab a drink and some chips, this is going to take a while.

I was waiting for Samus to say, “Then I realized that I had been in denial for so long. There is no galactic task force. I don’t care for no alien baby. And I hate this stupid bulky suit. I haven’t taken a bath since 1986. But as long as my adventures keep on selling, my story will go on. Craps.”

Metroid: Other M is exclusive on the Wii, and it drops on August 31. You can pre-order it on Amazon for $50 (USD).

The Social Network Movie Trailer: Are You Still Using Facebook?

Are you still using Facebook? Of course you are. Well, this October, you will be watching it on the big screen, because Mark Zuckerberg’s story will come to your neighborhood multiplex, courtesy of acclaimed director David Fincher.

Based on the book The Accidental Billionaires: The Founding of Facebook: A Tale of Sex, Money, Genius and Betrayal, I’m sure that this movie will be very interesting, telling the tale of the turbulent beginnings of the social networking juggernaut.

During the holidays, I decided to stop using Facebook. I still check in from time to time, but overall, it’s only once every few weeks, not daily. I used to have a tab open while I was working, checking up what was going on. At one point, I just stopped caring about my so-called fake and virtual friends. Between my blog, twitter, and email, as well as all of the feeds of the blogs I follow, I’ve got enough to check out. I’m not really interested in reconnecting with some douchebag I used to know in high school. How about you guys?

Pokemon Black/White has 3 on 3 Battles

A new trailer for the upcoming Nintendo DS game Pokémon Black/White offers a peek into some of the game’s new monsters and new features, including team battles – the trailer showed 2-on-2 and 3-on-3 fights. I wonder if the game will have pokémans so tough that you’ll have to use all six of your monsters at once just to beat one of them. Something like a Yiazmat Pokémon. •shiver•

Ilomilo for Xbla: Dizzyingly Cute

Southend Interactive’s upcoming Xbox Live Arcade game ilomilo is as charming as Little Big Planet, and it’s gameplay looks like it can be as dizzying as Super Mario Galaxy.

I don’t think I would last long playing this game though; the bright colors and the ever-changing planes would make me barf. But that’s a point against me, not for ilomilo.

TRON Legacy HD Trailer Hits the Web

Between you and me, Tron was a great movie. I really liked it. Unlike some movies, it stands the test of time pretty well. When I recently watched it again, and I wasn’t disappointed. Today, a new Tron Legacy trailer was leaked on the internet in full HD. Check out those shiny new light cycles!

It’s really great to see this trailer in full HD resolution. Just like Avatar, this movie is going to be a 3D extravaganza. The new world of Tron Legacy will just jump out, grab you and shake the quarters from your pockets.

Even Bruce Boxleitner and Jeff Bridges are coming back. The creators of the movie integrated concepts from the Matrix into Tron, which isn’t bad in my book. Wait, wasn’t the Matrix inspired by Tron? It’s too bad that we’ll have to wait until the 17th of December 2010 in order to see it.

Transformers War for Cybertron Trailer: Let’S Hope There’S More Than Meets the Eye on This One

I actually forgot about this game until I saw this trailer, and now that I’ve seen it I know why I had forgotten about the game.

Why do they always have to redesign the look of the Transformers? Can’t we just stick with the classic one? And maybe the Armada version?

Also wtf was Optimus’ vehicle mode supposed to be? He looked smaller than Bumblebee. If that trailer is any indication of the game’s quality then it seems to be transforming into something not worth buying.

Transformers: War for Cybertron will be released for the PC, Xbox 360 and the PS3 on June 22 this year. I’m really hoping this turns out okay.

Capture the Sister in Brutal Bioshock 2 Multiplayer

Frenetic flaming fights get a lot more complicated when you’re carting one of Rapture’s creepy unchildren around, as the newly released BioShock 2 multiplayer trailer proves… but they still look a lot like regular ol’ Capture the Flag. It’s just that the flag, in this case, happens to look a lot like a little girl.

It’s a little hard to figure out just what’s going on here. Oh, the gameplay seems simple enough: one team has to capture the Little Sister, and the other team defends. What’s strange is that the capturing team’s goal is to return the Little Sister to her vent… and the defending team (which includes a Big Daddy) tries to stop you. Shouldn’t lil’ girl want to go back to her vent? The gameplay begs the question of the different dynamics in BioShock 2, and whether or not this setup is just a way to keep the multiplayer mode from being too over-the-top. The game is already a little uncomfortably kidnap-tastic… maybe they wanted to keep the added creepiness of harvesting the Little Sisters out of it.

Outrageous Dead Rising 2 Trailer

Dead Rising had some pretty ridiculous moments, certainly, though they tended to be sandwiched between runs to the bathroom and epic chainsawing sessions filled with flying limbs. For the sequel, it looks like Capcom is taking the craziness a few steps further. We’ve already seen the Vegas-like city and the giant hamster balls of death… and now? An absolutely silly trailer from Tokyo.

That looks pretty crazy, right? Nothing like a fountain of zombie blood for the best splash effects. But that’s nothing compared to this video.

Bioshock 2 Multiplayer: Rapture at Its Most Chaotic

Does every game necessarily need multiplayer? Nah, certainly not, but these days, it’s pretty standard, though the excellent BioShock was allowed to stand on its own as an (amazing) single player experience. For the sequel, however, players get a chance to experience the fall of Rapture firsthand in the new multiplayer mode. At least there’s a good idea fueling the multiplayer mode!

Forget the Circus of Values–this is a circus of death. Violent, flaming, bullet-riddled death. BioShock in multiplayer looks like a very bad day in Rapture indeed. Something tells me that frequent, inescapable death will be the order of the day when settling down for a few rounds with all the crazies.
