Custom LEGO Batman Tumbler Up for Sale

With The Dark Knight Rises coming out next Spring, I’ve got Batman on the brain. So I was pretty stoked when I saw this cool creation over on Etsy. It’s Batman’s Tumbler Batmobile, made out of LEGO bricks.

This Tumbler was created by LEGO builder ClickBrickDesigns, and looks just like the one from the movies. It measutes about 6.5″(L) x 5.5″(W) x 2.5″(H), and is built from over 170 LEGO bricks, along with some special, hard-to-find components.

It’s really accurate, including a detailed dashboard with joysticks, movable airfoils, and room for two Minifigs inside (you’ll have to provide those – Batman isn’t included). It even has the proper tires. ClickBrick has also gone ahead and glued together some of the key locations with E-6000 adhesive (which apparently doesn’t hurt the bricks.)

I’ve always wished that LEGO would keep selling their official Batmobile Tumbler kit, but the only kit they ever sold is now a rarity, going for hundreds of dollars on eBay and Amazon these days. Besides, I think this all-black handmade version looks cooler anyhow.

Batman Tumbler Golf Cart Would Definitely Improve My Golf Game

Okay, it really wouldn’t help me score less than a 35 handicap, but this Batman golf cart would definitely cheer me up the next time I four-putt, or can’t hit past the ladies’ tee box. This his undeniably great Tumbler-inspired golf cart was recently spotted on the Warner Bros. studio lot.

Originally thought to be owned by Christopher Nolan, it turns out the cart is actually the work of a serious Batman superfan, who just happens to work at the studio.

Still, Nolan should be duly impressed with the build quality of this mutant golf cart, which looks very much like Batmans’ Tumbler vehicle.

Batmobile Tumbler Go-Kart: for Dark Squires

The Tumbler in Christopher Nolan’s Batman Begins and The Dark Knight is arguably the most bad-ass version of the Batmobile ever. It’s a damn stealth tank is what it is. Now, thanks to auctioneer tully712, you can have your own Tumbler. Sort of. A tinier version. A go-kart Tumbler, to be precise.

It also can’t be put in reverse but who cares! Look at it! Build one for your kids and they will love you forever and ever.

Yes, I said build, because tully712 isn’t selling the go kart itself. He’s selling the plans for the go kart on eBay for only $35 (USD). So there’s still a fair amount of work involved before you get to the part where your kids love you forever and ever.

1up Mushroom Glass Perfect for a Pick Me Up

Do you still have a couple of cases of Super Mario Power-up! Energy Drink hiding in the back of your pantry? Here’s the perfect way to chug down the next glass of that sticky sweet gunk.

I found this hand-etched Mario 1UP Mushroom glass tumbler ($15 USD) over on Placidrain’s Etsy shop this morning. While it’s great for any beverage, I like to think that whatever you put in there has to involve caffeine, guarana, ginseng, or in my case, a shot of whiskey. Unless, of course you think its one of those poison mushrooms, in which case Jagermeister would be more apropos.

If Mario isn’t quite your thing, Placidrain’s HI-O Kitty custom glassware line also features such unlikely delights as a Hello Kitty beer bottle and a World of Warcraft Horde tumbler. Huzzah!

Bring the Power of Science to the Bar

If you believe that mixing the perfect cocktail is a science rather than an art, this just may be the perfect complement to your adult beverages. The Cocktail Chemistry set brings an unmatched geek form factor to the table… or rather, to the bar.

The scale shown above, unfortunately, is not part of the set. Instead, you get a sweet rack, an Erlenmeyer flask with a glass mixing rod for extra class (and authenticity), four two ounce shot glasses shaped like test tubes, and a completely unscientific shaker. Not included: any actual drink-mixing ability, but at least with this set, it’ll be fun to practice. You can always drink the results!

Just be careful, and remember that alcohol does in fact burn.

Papercraft Batmobile: the Dark Knight Gets His Car Back

I don’t know if any of you heard, but there’s an itty bitty low-budget movie about some sort of winged superhero that just hit theaters this week, and maybe at least a few of you managed to go and see it. Sure, The Dark Knight may be getting Oscar-worthy reviews and raking in record box office, but why (minor spoiler ahead) did the Joker have to go and destroy the Tumbler? Why’d he have to go and do Bruce like that and take away the man’s wheels?

Now you can preserve the memory of the best Batmobile ever with this amazing papercraft model you can build for yourself.

The intricate Batmobile Tumbler design was created by paper-modeler extraordinaire Claudio, who managed to even figure out a way to make perfectly round paper tires.

Crafted from literally hundreds of individual pieces, it’s sure to take you much longer than the 2-1/2+ hour run time of the movie itself.
