Created by Dave Rollins of Digits (with the help of Ponoko’s laser fabrication services), these acrylic holiday gamer ornaments are the perfect addition to any game geek’s Christmas tree, Hanukkah bush, or Secular shrub.

Each set comes with 7 ornaments, including 2-dimensional cutout versions of Wii, N64, Xbox 360, Dreamcast, NES, PS2 and Sega Genesis controllers. The ornaments each measure between 3 and 4 inches wide, so they’re a bit smaller than the real deals.

They’re available in 6 colors, including red, white, yellow, black, clear, and red-tinted acrylic, and can be found over at Digits’ Ponoko or Etsy shops for just $20 bucks a set.

Buy a bunch and cover your whole tree. I’m hoping next year that Dave will make some matching console ornaments and maybe an Atari paddle controller or two.

I’m not too disgusted with that USB tattoo, because well, it’s simply lame. I think if it was just a tiny mark I can let it slide, but the ginormity of the thing just kills it. Now this wall outlet tattoo is pure genius. Now the guy won’t have to worry about powering any gadget he may have tattooed on him. All he needs is a tattoo power cord and he’s good to go.

I saved the best – meaning the worst – for last: some guy tattooed the text that’s displayed on Microsoft’s infamous Blue Screen of Death. What do you think his point is? That his arm crashed and needs to be reset?

WifiPad provides you with the ability to control any game that uses the keyboard on your computer over a Wi-fi connection. Since you can also design and serve custom gamepads, you can use it to build just about any controller design and custom key assignments you want. It can also be used to build a remote keyboard for other non-gaming applications.

Just start up the WifiPad desktop server application (Windows or Mac versions available), set up your preferred key mappings for each game, and you’re all set to play your games using your iPhone or iPod Touch screen. It took me just under a minute to get up and running, and I was able to control a bunch of Flash games without any custom setup work.

Sure, there’s nothing quite like the tactile feel of real keys or a joypad beneath your fingers, and there is the potential for lag if you have any Wi-fi connection issues, but it is still kinda cool to whip out your phone and start controlling your games from across the room using your wonderphone’s touchscreen.

Sony isn’t treating everyone like pirates in this case. As Loot Ninja explains, the company is just preserving whatever “value” the achievement (it is what it is) system has. Because everyone in the known universe knows that the PSP has been haXX0r’d to death and beyond, Sony is afraid that a Trophy system on the PSP will only be hacked as well, and if so people will be able to unlock all the Trophies without actually fulfilling the requirements. That of course will devalue the poor system. Sad.

What’s even more sad for Sony is that the ChickHEN custom firmware has been polished for end users, and is now on the Internets, officially ending the reign of the homebrew- and pirate-free PSP 3000.

I’ve all but given up hope for a price cut in the near future, but of course if it comes I’ll be happy. I already have a PS3, but a price cut on Sony’s Grill just might force Microsoft to slash prices on their console as well. If that happens, I’ll definitely buy a 360.

That’s it. ironically (that’s gunmetal ironically) MGS 4 isn’t included. The joystick has a 2-stage metal trigger, an 8-way hat switch, a dedicated POV switch, 6 programmable buttons, a “pinkie shift” button, 3 analog trim controls, and contactless X & Y positional sensors. The throttle’s tension can be adjusted, plus it’s packed with buttons and switches as well: 2 4-way hat switches, 2 rotary analog controls, 12 programmable buttons including the 8 customizable LED-lit ones on the base.

Not to be outdone, the foot pedal also has adjustable resistance control, toe brakes, a retractable carpet lock, and stainless steel treads.

The casemod is a bit “simple”, and by that I mean the iPod mini was just placed inside the controller. I know that’s not really as simple as it sounds, but it would have been nicer if the controller’s buttons were wired to control the iPod. Just saying.

As you can see the screen and scroll wheel face the back of the controller, so as to preserve the buttons in front. So from afar it’s going to seem like recycledgamer just plugged in a pair of earphones into a NES controller.

This is a development that I became aware of after conducting thorough research – namely, hearing about it from a friend and then Googling it.

However, a number of people are reporting that the game – or at least the one they downloaded illegally – wipes out the GAME folder on their PSP once they exit the game or turn off the system. A lot of minor issues are also being reported by the digital pirates, such as their system hanging or other songs refusing to load. Still, the game has been downloaded more than 13,000 times, and that’s just a metric from one torrent site.

PSP owners who want to do things the right way – I know you’re out there somewhere -  can pre-order the game here for $40 USD.

Logitech’s Guitar Controller is officially for Guitar Hero games on the PS 3 and Guitar Hero: World Tour on the PS 2, but there’s a good chance it’ll work on Rock Band for the PS 3 as well. It has a solid body and its neck is made of wood, while the shiny frets and tuning peg handles are real metal. It also has a Star Power button and a touch-sensitive neck slider for Guitar Hero: World Tour.

Logitech’s axe isn’t for everyone, that’s for sure. No, I’m not saying you need to have mad skills to be worthy of it. because what you need is $200 USD. At this point may I just say that you can get a real guitar – a no frills, basic electric guitar, but still – for less than that. As in from Pentium III to Quad Core eight years. For an Atari Jaguar game. My god.

And in case you’re still unsure if the guys at Force Design do indeed snort Kool Aid crystals, here’s the tagline for their game: “… the game for the Atari Jaguar that will always get some bodies mad. It wouldn’t be MADBODIES™ if nobodies get mad!” I guess not, Force Design; I guess not.

The new game was leaked by a Joystiq reader, and according to the info the game’s protagonist, Jacob Taylor, is “a biotic-powered super-soldier who stumbles across a plot to terrorize civilization’s greatest beacon of hope.” For a second there I thought the enemy was after the bacon of hope. That would have been a better idea, because we’re all willing to fight for ordinary bacon, what more for the bacon of hope.

As you can see the game will be a top-down shooter ala GTA II. It’s supposedly a short game, clocking in at just 2 hours, half of which consists of elevator rides. Kidding. Marc DeAngelis over at thebbps thinks that the tactical aspect of Mass Effect will still be there, i.e. pausing the game to give orders or use tech abilities, as evidenced by those icons in the image above. And judging from the image below, yours truly thinks that the Paragon/Renegade aspect of the game will be there as well.

Mass Effect: Jacob’s Story will reportedly cost $3 USD, no word on release date yet. If this game becomes a hit, EA and BioWare might expand the Mass Effect story further, and may even release additional mobile games based on another franchise, Dragon Age. Trust me EA: Bacon of hope = $$$.

*Update: BioWare Community Coordinator Chris Priestly has clarified that the game is not a prequel but a side story of one of the characters in the upcoming Mass Effect 2, and he says that it’s not crucial to the lore of Mass Effect: “Consider it a “fun optional ‘extra’ game.” So should we still buy it? I definitely won’t, because I don’t have an iPhone.*

Flash game maker/ultimate survivor Rete created the game Don’t Sh*t Your Pants to recreate one of life’s most nerve wracking and horrific experiences, when the worst parts of you are peeking out and you’re not yet in a position to do something about it. It’s a text-based game, so you use phrases like “open door” or “sit in toilet” instead of directly controlling the character. Whereas the first text-based games were about fantasy and mythology, Don’t Shit Your Pants keeps it real and redefines the “survival horror” genre of video games.

Sporting multiple, often disastrously comic endings, where and how you poo-poo is up to you. Forget Resident Evil 5 and play Don’t Shit Your Pants for free at Kongregate; because a chainsaw-wielding, parasite-infested non-zombie is just a bunny with a pink ribbon compared to thought of crapping with your pants still on.

There is a very small scratch on the side of the console, but it’s so small that lim-handek had to point it out with a red circle on the pic. lim-handek’s feedback is 100%, and to show you just how awfully nice he can be, he’s bundled a couple of games with the console: Saints Row 2 and this game called Great… Thick… Alto 4? Grand Theft AIG 4? I don’t know.
