Nintendo Themed Boardwalk Cabinets: Let Wario Tell Your Fortune

We’ve seen plenty of Kody Koala’s work in the past and it never disappointments. These Custom Gaming Themed Boardwalk Cabinets however, are a whole new level of awesome.

I can only hope that we see more Nintendo characters in these cabinets. For those who may not know, in the old days cabinets like these would line the boardwalk. Some were medical quackery, claiming to heal by zapping you with a jolt of electricity, others were similar to the fortune telling machines you’ve seen elsewhere.

The Elecman (From Mega Man) cabinet was created using a Boardwalk bank from Toys r Us. That one vibrates and has LEDs, but won’t shock you. Although these look full sized, this one is just 9-10 inches tall.

The Mario Ironclaw game features all kinds of cool toys inside and was made the same way. The coolest of the trio is the Wario cabinet. Just ask him for your fortune. Your fortune is simple by the way, Wario says that he is going to win.

I wish they had stuff like this on boardwalks today. Too completely awesome. Check out all of the details on Kody Koala’s site.

DeviantART member/artist/video game surgeon Beth T. aka bluewolf487 gave the heroes of the Mushroom Kingdom a gender swap, and they turned out really great. Good thing she didn’t stick to canon and removed the mustaches.

Ms. Mario looks like she’s ready for anything that Koopa will throw at her on her way to save Prince Toadstool and Prince… Daisy? Female Waluigi is just pure hatred.

I wonder how a male Samus would look like. Or a female Link. The same as male Link? Anyway check out Beth T.’s Tumblr and deviantART pages for more of her drawings.

Wario Nike Dunks: the Real Wariowear

There is absolutely nothing in my closet that would go well with these Wario Nike Dunks, but I still want one. I WANT ONE!!!

Unfortunately it’s only a design. And if this was a real shoe Nike would surely put a sky high price tag on it. Oh well, at least we can have the picture for free.

New Nintendo Handhelds Pre-Loaded With Dsiware for the Holidays

It’s a new take on the holiday bundle: according to Best Buy’s Black Friday ad, Nintendo DSi units are going to be available already loaded with DSiWare items to save new owners the trouble of downloading their favorites (and paying for them!) separately.

Nintendo’s traditional holiday handheld bundles have included retail games in the past (and sometimes unique systems!), but this new approach of download game packs is possible with the DSi.

The two bundles are decidedly different. The first includes Brain Age Express: Arts & Letters, Brain Age Express: Sudoku, Brain Age Express: Math, Clubhouse Games Express: Card Classics, Photo Clock and a white Nintendo DSi, while the second features a different theme: Mario vs. Donkey Kong: Minis March Again!, WarioWare Snapped!, Dr. Mario Express, Mario Calculator, and Mario Clock, all on a metallic blue DSi.

The best part? The bundles will be available for $169 (USD) – the price of a regular DSi all by itself. Considering those software packs cost almost as much as a retail title, that’s a pretty sweet deal.

Super Mario Cake Goes the Extra Pipelength

As cakes go, this one is pretty good-looking, yeah? With the molded goombas and mushrooms, it’s hard to argue against this level of detail. The crenellations around the top of that tower aren’t perfect, but I think that adds to their charm. Yep, definitely a nice cake. But wait! That’s not all!

Oh snap! It brought friends! Other tiers – connected, naturally, with pipes – and little molded turtle shells, and even Wario, Toad, and Luigi!

This particular cake is so detailed and elaborate that other cakes may be embarrassed to show their faces today. In the end, however, I think this cake loses out – barely – to efforts like this, with its handmade figures of Toad, Yoshi, and others. It’s a close race, though.

Nintendo Collages Made to Order

These fun, one-of-a-kind paper collages are inspired by popular Nintendo video game characters.

Washington DC artist and die-hard Nintendo fanboy Chris Lange handcrafts these colorful gaming collages from old Nintendo Power magazines, so he’s not lying when he states that they’re “100% Nintendo”.

Pictured here are several works which Lange has previously completed, but each piece is custom made based on subject matter of your choice. So whether you’re a fan of Link, Mario, Donkey Kong, Yoshi, or even Starfox, you’re set. Banjo and Kazooie might be questionable, though, given their recent move to the dark side over in Redmond.

Chris takes orders for these custom pieces over on his Etsy shop. It’ll set you back about $250 for a 30″ x 20″ collage, but he’ll make other sizes on a custom quoted basis too.
