The huggable dynamic duo were made by Jennifer aka Kittyzilla, who expertly fashions a variety of materials to make great plush toys. I’ve included a couple of her other creations to show you how great she is at capturing the essence of characters, while imbuing them with the charm that only things that come in bright colors and quaint sizes can achieve. And also some action shots of Batman and Robin that will make you sing the theme song to the classic TV show.

I’m gonna bet you’ll have a hard time seeing out of these milky white lenses, but that’s just me. But if you’re a serious cosplayer, you can head over to King of Swords and grab a pair for $59.95 (USD), where they remind you these are NON-prescription contacts, and that they are not recommended for sleeping. Duh.

Now all you have to do to complete the look is go to the gym every day for the next 5 years, paint yourself blue, and take plenty of human growth hormones. Oh yeah… and grow an enormous blue penis.

Zack Snyder’s take on Watchmen may have suffered mixed reviews from fans and newbies alike at the box office, but Alan Moore’s seminal characters are certainly scoring big with one subset of the population: crafty types are embracing Watchmen‘s heroes anew… and in interesting ways. If you thought you’d never see a Dr. Manhattan sock monkey, well, you were wrong.

Dr. Monkhattan, as this version happens to be named, is from the wearing-black-man-panties stage of the superman’s development, so there’s no issue of bright blue sock monkey genitals to be addressed.

Crafty Crafty has a round-up of some of the more unique and interesting examples of crafters’ takes on Watchmen, including a Hello Kitty/Rorshach mashup flash drive that can go toe-to-toe on the randomness scale with Dr. Monkhattan any day.

Are you a movie buff? Then you’re probably cautiously excited about the upcoming Watchmen movie. Cautiously, because whenever you start to wonder about the movie a horde of Cheetos-smelling chubby geeks with 90s fashion sensibilities immediately surrounds you, desperate to drop knowledge on anyone who’s not into comics and blather on about the Keene Act and the Black Freighter and the first Nite Owl and how the panels on the page of one issue are symmetrical or finish in reverse order or how Rorschach looks like -

Since you’re a geek yourself, only another sort of geek, you can’t give these comic fiends a good ol’ shut the hell up punch. So go do what you do best: acquire knowledge. You want to arm yourself with just enough knowledge so you can appreciate the movie without having to ask a person who will not ever, ever never ever shut up once he starts talking.

As always the Internet can help. Just head-on to Rotten Tomatoes and read their concise and well written character profiles. You’ll get to know the important info about the heroes of Watchmen – their real names, history, inspiration – as well as tidbits about the villains (including former US president Nixon). Of course you can always check out the official site:

The upside of the Warner Bros. site is that it’s flashy and has audio and video clips as well as goodies like wallpapers, but if you’re looking for information then the Rotten Tomatoes profiles are much easier to read.

So go arm yourself! You know what, you still have time. Go buy the book. And a bag of Cheetos. And a six-pack of Yoo-hoos.

Award-winning digital entertainment outfit littleloud created a promotional flash game for the upcoming Watchmen movie. Yes Fanny McFanboy! It’s a game based on the graphic novel! What’s that? You can’t wait to play as Rorschach? Well you can’t play as Rorschach. Actually you can’t play as any of the Watchmen characters. Because the heroes in the arcade-style game are from the Minutemen, the superhero team that came before the Watchmen.

As you can see you can choose to play as Captain Commando or Baby the first Nite Owl or the first Silk Spectre. You then side-scroll your way along the crime-riddled , mailbox-riddled and trash can-riddled streets of 1942 New York.

Since I am a member of the superhero team Expertgamingmans, I’ll give you some tips on playing the game. Pay attention because the game has a reward for players who finish it.

Protip #1: This one’s a warning for the young gamers out there who have never played an old school beat ‘em up: THE ENEMIES ARE MORONS. Aside from wearing the exact same golf cap + turtleneck combo, they will also move to the same axis that you are as they approach you. They will do this even if there’s an obstacle in the way, such as the fire hydrant above. So they get stuck. You can then punch or kick them til they die. Or you can just watch them pile up behind a fire hydrant.

Protip #2: This is top secret stuff: You can wreck the garbage cans and mailboxes for extra points! Destructible environment FTW! That’s my Nite Owl in the 2nd stage of the game; as you can see my expertise allows me to use the strategy I mentioned in Protip #1 at will.

After 3 stages you get to square off with Moloch the Mystic. Protip #3: Apparently in 1942 New York, ‘Mystic’ means ‘knife thrower’. After defeating Moloch the game rewards you with…

A stream of the whole Watchmen movie! Of course not. You get to watch a trailer that you’ve probably seen before. But if you’re a real gamer, you know that the side scrolling journey is the prize itself.
