My Robot Nation uses 3D printing technology to create bespoke robot figurines to your exacting specifications. Simply head onto their website, mix-and-match your choice of head, torso, arms and legs to build your robot body. If you’re feeling whimsical, you can always just hit the “randomize robot” button too.

Once you’ve figured out your robot’s basic form, you can add details like eyes, visors, weapons, and even costumes. Then pick your colors, and even add robot tattoos. You also get to pose your robot at this point, since the finished product won’t be bendable. So pick your pose wisely, since that’s the position your robot buddy will be stuck in for eternity.

Once you save your design, you pick a size, and order up your custom robot. Prices range from $17.99 (USD) for a 2″ tall robot, up to $169.99 for a 6″ tall model. It’s probably too late to get one of these in hand for Christmas, but they do offer a gift code option you could give instead. Frankly, I think that’s better anyhow, since half the fun is designing your robot in the first place, so why shouldn’t that be part of the gift?

Below are shots of some of the virtual food that’s been remade by Daniella in real life. She improvises on most of the items recipe-wise, but she tries her best to make each item look like its virtual counterpart, as with the Portal cake or the meat from Golden Axe. There are instances of course when that’s not possible – the Metal Gear Solid ration and the Chunko Honey bar from Deus Ex are examples. My dad’s reply? “It’s all about the prestige; that’s the whole point.”

While I don’t agree with his views, I don’t really care that much to start an argument about the whole thing either.

Which is why, when I chanced upon the Elite750 Premier Email Club, I immediately thought back to my dad’s response, because it’s probably to people with the same line of thinking that the people behind the club are targeting for membership.

The Elite750 club boasts of being the “World’s Most Exclusive E-mail Address.” Only 750 email accounts with handles that are followed by @elite750.com will be issued. Now here’s the kicker: the initial sign-up will cost you $7,500 and then you’ll have to shell out $750 every month to maintain the address.

Talk about costly – and unnecessary.

Aside from accepting only 750 members from all over the world, Elite750 will also be offering a limited number of slots per country. The club is currently accepting applications for membership, with a pretty snotty disclaimer at the end of the paragraph in the application page: “Elite750 reserves the right to refuse membership without a stated reason.”

You can join here if you’re interested. But honestly, I think having an @gmail.com email address is a whole lot more convenient and sensible than having an @elite750.com email box (plus we’re being kept in the dark here about the features and functionality that their email boxes provide.)

Google has stated that it thinks public is the only way to go with your profile since the point is to manage your online identity. If you don’t want the profile public, then just delete it according to Google. In fact, if you do nothing as of August 1, 2011, Google will delete your Google Profile for you if it is set to private.

Google reminds that only your name and gender are required to be shared and you can edit or delete all of the other details. This is very strange; I wonder how people will react. It will probably fly with no issues with the small number of active Google+ users right now. I can only imagine the outcry if Facebook decided to do this and forced all profiles to be public.

What I like best about Please Press Start is its minimal design. It really gives way to the screenshots that it pays tribute to. Again, I think the website is a great idea – it lets us appreciate the start screens regardless of the actual quality of the game, although I know how hard it can be to separate one’s experience with the game while looking at the screens. Still, my favorite screenshot from the website is the start screen of Wet, even though I’ve never played a single second of it.

Speaking of selections, the site sorely needs more submissions, because almost all of the games featured are from current generation games. Actually, I think the site needs more than just more submissions, and I think some of you know what I’m getting at. I think the site should use videos instead of screenshots, because the latter don’t really do start screens justice. I’m pretty sure these screens all look better in motion, plus we get to appreciate the music as well, which I think is an important aspect. Check out Please Press Start and honor your favorite start screens by submitting to the site, or better yet, start your own YouTube channel of start screens.

Selecting a device to play will make it zoom in and take up almost the whole page. The first time I clicked on one of the games and it zoomed in was a magical moment for me.

Even if I didn’t get to play most of them when I was a kid – I didn’t even know most of these games existed before I saw them – everything from the  design of their cases to the simple gameplay and graphics is just so familiar. If you grew up playing Game & Watch games or any of these handheld games, you owe it to yourself to visit Pica Pic.

You can play any of the games for free, and there’s even a list of people who got the highest scores for each game, but for some people just looking at these games is entertaining enough. I sincerely hope this site doesn’t get taken down by the companies who own the games.

The way the system works, you place all of your devices into proximity with one another, then surf to a special website URL, which displays a visual marker on each screen. You then take a photo of the devices relationship, and upload it to the Junkyard Jumbotron web site. Once processed, the system slices up the image and properly aligns the pieces. Once loaded, you can even load up another part of the app to manipulate the image across all displays. It doesn’t matter if you mix smartphones with laptops with tablets with internet TVs. As long as the devices can surf the web, they can participate.

Rather than simply writing your kids a letter back from Santa, you can do more. Thanks to Google’s Send A Call From Santa service, you can have him call your kids and have him say a few personalized things. There are several selections you can make, so that it sounds like he is talking specifically to your child. If you don’t have kids, there are some great selections in there if you want to send a call to your friends as well.

The site requires Firefox 3, Google Chrome, IE 7 or Safari 5 to run, and you can even have Pac-Man gobble up any other website, with a simple Pac-Man bookmarklet (drag to your toolbar.)

The real treat in The Pac-Man Dossier starts after dispensing with the requisite history of the game. Before providing strategies, Pittman breaks down the aspects of Pac-Man, with statements like “Whenever Pac-Man makes a pre-turn or post-turn, his orientation changes, and he starts to move one pixel in his new direction for every pixel traveled in his old direction, effectively doubling his speed as he moves at a 45 degree angle”, and pictures like this one:

The Revolving Internet was made by Constant Dullaart, as a response to Chris Collins’ Uneven Google, which is Google but is tilted by 1 degree. I’m not sure why Collins made Uneven Google, and why Constant Dullaart felt it warranted a response. But they both did, and here we are.

By tracking which links to video sites are most popular over time, bitly.tv lets you quickly see the most popular videos on the web – right now, or at any point over the last week. It’s a great way to discover new content, and just the tip of the iceberg in terms of what these guys will be able to do with all the data they collect on the popularity of links that are clicked on.

At this point bitly.tv is just an experiment under the labs.bit.ly site, but we’re hoping it sticks around for a long time. Check out bitly.tv, and I’m sure you’ll be hooked. I sure am.

The website is called Avatarize Yourself. You simply upload a photo of yourself and let it work its magic. Soon, you’ll have your own Avatar. That being said, they definitely give some comical results. It’s true that Avatars don’t look like Smurfs, but some of these photos made me wonder if that would be better.

Anyway, go check it out and share it with your friends. It’s sure to give some interesting results, depending on the type of photos that you upload. I wonder what would happen if I avatarized my dog?

According to Ars Technica‘s John Timmer,  Fung was lawyered fairly easily because he made several incriminating statements on his blog, such as questioning whether copyright infringement should be considered theft, and giving instructions on how to download movies and then burn them to DVDs.

The old “Google should be sued too because you can use their search engine to find torrents” argument wasn’t worth squat in Fung’s case, because one of his sites had specifically incriminating links, like links to torrents of “Top 20 movies” as well as TV shows and “High Quality DVD Rips”. There’s no word yet on Fung’s punishment, or if IsoHunt will be taken down, but I guess with a lopsided case like this it looks like the website’s days are numbered. Or Fung could host his torrent sites somewhere else, ala Demonoid.

As you can see, my days are freakin’ packed. I mean, I just cannot possibly do more than what I’m doing now. PES 2010, NBA 2K10 and poker all on one night? Whew. You can also see that there’s a “Someday” portion, which again I assume is self-explanatory. As for the other aspects of TeuxDeux, watch this video:

The app’s clean interface and appropriately limited functionality makes it easy to use, but more importantly, it looks good enough to be your homepage, which I think is the only way TeuxDeux can actually help you get things done. Because let’s face it, it really doesn’t matter where or how you make a list of tasks. What matters is that you’re regularly confronted by it so that you actually remember what you’re supposed to do (and hopefully have enough self-discipline/guilt/need for money to accomplish your tasks). So if you’re going to use TeuxDeux, do yourself a favor – set it as your homepage and make your browser open it whenever you open a new tab. Otherwise sooner or later you’re either going to forget about it or you’re going to be too lazy to log-in and check it.
