This wouldn’t be the first time we’ve featured a version of the classic carny game Whack-a-Mole (I think it’s officially called Whac-a-Mole), but it is the first time you can smash the little guys with your thumbs instead of a mallet.

This Mini Whack-It is a tiny version of the desktop Whack-It! game I told you guys about a couple of years back. This compact version is small enough to carry around on your keychain, and you can play it with your fingertips.

The little vermin don’t actually pop up, but the tiny moley-moles light up and then you quickly tap them on their heads before they stop. There’s no real scoring system, so it’s really just a fun way to pass some time. Here’s a clip of the Mini Whack-It in action:

Noisy, eh? I suppose if you get really annoyed with this thing, you could always get the mallet out and try and play with that. Mini Whack-It is available over at Strapya World for $14.70 (USD).

Holy Mole-Y: Desktop Whac-a-Mole

I don’t know why bopping moles on the head with a mallet is fun. It just is.

This desktop Whac-A-Mole game lets you whack to your hearts content. Got an important conference call? Why not whack some while you’ve got your speakerphone on “mute”? Nobody will know. You can whack all day long. You know you want to.

I’ve never really understood why it’s “Whac-A-Mole” and not “WhacK-A-Mole”. Could they not afford the “K”? Maybe it saved them money on painting all of the arcade signs. Somebody probably got a bonus for that. Remember when employers handed out bonuses? Those were the days.

Unfortunately, it looks like these cute moles only speak Korean. If you do too, you can find them at the Early Adopter Shop (search for “2774″ to find them). Otherwise, you’ll have to settle for one of these mole-free Whack-It games.

USB Whac-a-Mole: Whack It at Your Desk

Bring a little bit of that carnival feel to your cubicle with this mini Whac-a-Mole desktop game.

The dreadfully named “Whack It” game connects to your USB port and lets you play with yourself at your desk.

No, they’re not really moles. The little dudes look more like oversize red, yellow and green LEDs. Nor does the game come with a mallet like the original carny game. Since it’s so small, you just feverishly tap on the currently illuminated guy with your fingertip.

If you can get over the name, you can pick one up from UK gadget shop Gadget-Box for £12.49 (about $25 USD.)

Remember the old Whac-a-Mole games from the carnival when you were a kid? Now you can have your own mini-version of the game wherever you go.

This pint-sized version of the stress-inducing game comes to us from Japan’s Epoch Games. This version of the game translates into English as the appropriately blunt “Mole Hitting.” While I haven’t been able to find a U.S. importer for this, it can be found over on Amazon Japan for ¥1221 (appx. $10 USD.)
