How’d you like to do some whale watching? Well, you don’t even have to leave your desk to see this sea-faring mammal, who doubles as a speaker and stand for your iPhone or iPod Touch.

This little dude is pretty cute looking even when he’s not holding onto your music player. The diminutive wooden whale can sink his teeth into your media player in either landscape or portrait modes, and has a small built-in speaker. While it looks like his mouth is just the right size for the iPhone or iPod Touch, it should work with other phones and media players that are less than 12mm thick, and thanks to a 3.5mm audio jack instead of an iPod dock connector. Power is provided by a built-in USB rechargeable battery.

So what’s not to like about this whale of a speaker stand? Well, from what I can tell, he’s only swimming around in the waters around Korea at the moment. And there, you can find him at the Early Adopter Shop [KR] for 34800 Korean Won (~$32 USD).

Leave it to the gadget makers at SegaToys to come up with another oddity that could only come from Japan. This wacky bathroom accessory is designed to blow bubbles while you sit in the tub and chill out.

The Happy Savon (savon = French for soap) looks like a little white whale, and fills sits on the edge of your bathtub blowing bubbles as you take a soak. Just fill the miniature cetacian with any liquid soap or shampoo and flip on the power. For smelly bubbles, just add a tiny bit of aromatherapy oil to the mix.

Despite the water mammal shape and the bathroom theme, the battery-operated whale isn’t submersible, so don’t try and float it in the water unless you want a dead whale in your tub. You’ll also want to be careful to aim the bubbles towards your tub, unless you want a slippery mess all over your bathroom tile floor – the last thing you need when you step out of the tub.

Regardless of the hazards, the Engrish marketing materials say it’s Relax Romantic Fantasy – so how could you go wrong? You can find the Happy Savon whale bubble blower over at the Japan Trend Shop for $63 (USD).
