Nooka Zirc LCD Watches

The latest and greatest watches from New York watchmaker Nooka offer a modern minimal design that stands out from the crowd. I really dig the asymmetrical placement of the watch case that makes them sit off-center on your arm.

While the display might be a bit unconventional, it’s actually pretty easy to read…

slan led watches: the bold and the beautiful

Slan LED Digital Watches

The slick black case and bright, easy-to-read displays on these Slan LED watches really caught my eye.

There’s just something so refreshing about a digital watch that’s just clean and simple, unencumbered by extraneous information or newfangled display paradigms…

Japan’s Taguchi Craft company is readying a new sound system that’s designed to looks like pieces you might find on your dining table. worst. lamp. ever.

Awful LED Dog Lamp

On paper, the idea of a little desktop doggie lamp might be cute, but somewhere along the line it just all went so horribly awry. There’s just absolutely nothing that’s right about this rechargeable LED dog lamp. From its demonic red eyeballs to its disturbing nostril hole charger, it’s just a big bowl of wrong…

40gb ps3: sony’s great white hope

PS3 40GB Ceramic White

Sony’s PlayStation 3 console has certainly faced its share of challenges in the market. When it hit retailers last year, it cost as much as $600, and had virtually no original gaming content. Sure, it’s got a great Blu-ray disc player, and it looks slick, but without games, few people drank the Sony Kool-Aid…

Spherical Speaker by Pieter Maes

Industrial designer Pieter Maes, one of the artists responsible for developing LaCie’s cool golden hard drive created this design for a cluster of speakers which are formed into a near perfect sphere.

what the iphone could have looked like

Crystal iPod + iPhone Knock Off

Leave it to the cheap Chinese knock-off makers to produce this red headed stepchild of an iPod and a mobile phone. While it sort of looks like an iPod Classic, it slides open to reveal a phone. The phone bears more than a passing resemblance to some early iPhone concept images that were floating around the Web a while back.

Under the hood, the Crystal HT360 mobile phone is pretty typical…

Troja Arc Lamp by hansandfranz

On very rare occasion, I’ll see something that truly knocks me off my feet. That time is now. The Troja Arc Lamp is simply awe inspiring.

Designed by Germany’s hansandfranz studio, the lamp features a sweeping arc that emits a warm halo of light around its subject. The floor mounted fixture is loaded with hundreds of individual LEDs, embedded into an adjustable aluminum frame…

usb airplane fan ready to take off

filed under: gadgets | just plain fun

Kikkerland USB Airplane Fan

This nifty airplane-inspired desktop fan will help you keep your cool while you’re slaving away surfing the Internet.

The fan plugs into your USB port, and has a soft “propeller” that’s designed to not slice your digits off if you happen to get in its way. The little aircraft isn’t built to be aerodynamically sound since it would fly off of your desk otherwise…
