Plush Chewbacca: Three-Toed Sloth Meets Wookiee

We’ve seen our share of Star Wars characters in plush form, back pack form and every other form, but this may be the cutest form I’ve seen yet – a plush and furry Chewbacca.

He has nice long arms and legs and looks like he might actually be climbing through some trees with his Wookiee family on Kashyyyk. Now, I’m not saying that Chewie is lazy (I don’t want him pulling my arm out of it’s socket, after all), but this one also looks a lot like a sloth. I guess that’s what makes him so adorable.

Sadly, you can’t buy this one right now. Hopefully, maker Denn Rodriguez will create more of this guy for her Etsy shop. He sure does look soft and cuddly. If all Wookies looked like this, no being in the Star Wars universe would be scared of them.

How to Speak Wookiee: Practice With Your Carpet

Of the many abilities and attractive traits of Han Solo, the one thing that never ceases to amaze me is the fact that he can understand Chewbacca. Now, thanks to author Wu Kee Smith and his book How to Speak Wookiee, you too can learn a handful of basic Wookiee phrases that I am absolutely sure will come in handy one day. Also I bet Wu Kee Smith is Han Solo.

The book will teach you ten key phrases, “eliminating near-fatal encounters with notoriously short-tempered Wookiees while smoothing the way to lasting partnerships and friendships.” Pick a phrase and then play the appropriate recording on the sound module to hear how it’s said in Shyriiwook.

Actually forget the book – I’d just rip out the sound module and have it on me at all times. Fire up the Millennium Falcon and warp to Amazon to order How to Speak Wookiee for about $12 (USD).

Fuzzy Wuzzy Wookiee Cookies Are Sadly Inedible

There’s absolutely nothing sadder than a cookie that’s not for eating (except perhaps the level of hyperbole in this sentence). We could be talking about the best cookie ever–and these would make the list, if there was a list, and being edible wasn’t a requirement–but if it’s not for eating, it’s a dealbreaker. But maybe you’re less dramatic and will enjoy these Wookiee cookies.

Yes, these are plush cookies inspired by Wookiees that have apparently been squashed into cookie form. This is another product of Stitch Wars, which is fast becoming the go-to event for squishy, fuzzy, slightly disturbing handcrafted items. I’m a fan.

P.S. the Wookiee cookies squeak. They have squeakers.
