I’ve seen a number of desk organizers, but this one designed by Micheal Cavada for Quirky sure looks nice – especially for Mac users. It comes complete with extra USB ports and has a perfect place to hide away your keyboard and mouse when not in use. If you like things to match and you’ve got a Mac, then this will most definitely work well alongside your Apple.

Made from brushed aluminum with white plastic accents, the Space Bar desk organizer will allow you to maximize the space that you’ve got available on your workstation. It’s simple yet elegant.

It’s got six extra USB ports, four in the front and two in the back. There’s also a mini-USB port. You can stow a keyboard up to 18″ long and 1.5″ high. The Space Bar can support up to 30.5 lbs in weight, which means that it will support a 27″ iMac or Cinema Display with no problem.

It comes in silver and sells for $79.99(USD) over at quirky. Unfortunately, it’s currently out of stock, so I’m not sure when they’ll have more.

You might have a big screen, or a fancy desk for your PC or Mac, but I bet you don’t have a rig like this one for using your computer. The MWE Emperor 200 is about the fanciest computer workstation you can buy these days.

This over-the-top looking setup gives you a comfy ergonomic leather seating unit with touch-screen controls, and a view to kill with three computer displays positioned just right for you to lean back and enjoy. The whole thing is motorized too, so you can adjust the angle of your environment without getting up out of your chair. It’s also got a work surface for a keyboard and mouse, and the monitors can be positioned at a flat eye-level if you want to get some work done.

They system wraps you entirely in its scorpion like design, ensuring an immersive experience equaled only by strapping on a super high-def head-mounted display (which doesn’t exist today.) Each LED-backlit LCD screen is a full 24″ display, with HD resolution, and they all connect up to your computer via a set of three HDMI cables. It’s also got built-in LED lighting both above and below the seating area, and a THX surround sound system. Each one is hand-built to your exact requirements, and even has an air filtration system on board.

MWE offers the Emperor 200 in other colors, so if white isn’t your thing, you can go with something a little bolder like red or black – which makes the whole scorpion thing much more effective. Priced at a whopping $44,750 (USD), this thing is definitely the Porsche of computer workstations. Though for that price, they should throw in a computer with the proper display cards an Xbox 360 and a PS3. The chair should have a massager too. Really, how much would that eat into their profit margins to throw those in?

If $45k is too rich for your blood, you might want to check out MWE’s “bargain priced” Emporer 1510, which does away with the fancy finishes and touchscreen remote, (plus you need to BYO displays), but is considerably more accessible with prices starting at “just” $6,200.

I get that you might need a keyboard to get things done with your tablet. It’s even better when that same Bluetooth keyboard doubles as a case and a stand, but iLuv’s new WorkStation series is a bit much for my taste.

The iMM737 WorkStation and the iMM517 WorkStation Pro take your iPad to the next level providing an adjustable desktop docking station for your tablet. The 737 includes a wired keyboard, while the 517 Pro has a Bluetooth keyboard. Both also double as high-quality speaker docks, and will work with the iPad, iPhone and other devices with a 30-pin dock connector.

You can get the iMM 517 from iLuv any day now, and the iMM737 will be released in November. For now, you could always buy the nearly identical iMM727 or iMM 514 speaker docks, and just add your own Bluetooth keyboard.

If you do a lot of work on your tablet, you might want something like this. Or you might just want to buy yourself a proper desktop PC or laptop.

Sadly, these sources of possible nonexistent goodness didn’t say anything about a similar and long overdue update to the MacBook Pro line.

SGI’s new Octane III workstation takes the speed and performance that you’d usually find in a rack full of machines and puts it alongside your desk.

By leveraging modern miniaturization, the Octane III can handle up to 80 CPU cores, yes that’s EIGHT-ZERO CPU cores, along with up to 1TB, yes that’s ONE TERABYTE of RAM. If that’s not enough, the top-of-the line config has room for ten 2.5″ SATA II hard drives. And it all fits in a box that’s not much bigger than your average workstation tower (a 1-foot by 2-foot footprint).

The Octane III workstation can be purchased in a variety of insanely powerful configurations, including:

Ten dual-socket, Quad-Core Intel Xeon processor 5500 series-based nodes.

One dual-socket, Quad-Core Intel Xeon processor 5500 series-based workstation with advanced NVIDIA graphics and/or GP-GPU card support.

Nineteen single-socket, Quad-Core Intel Xeon processor 3400 series-based nodes.

Nineteen single-socket, Dual-Core Intel Atom processor-based nodes.

Prices for the Octane III start at $7999 (USD) and go up from there. While that might sound like a lot for a desktop PC, this thing is in a league all by itself.

I can’t wait to play some CRYSIS on this bad boy.

Here’s a unique computer desk design. The ScooterDesk is a self-contained workstation which lets you sit and scoot around your office without leaving your desk.

Created by the Belgian sustainable furniture design firm Utilia, the ScooterDesk gives you a solid work surface for your laptop, and lets you sit in a comfortable upright position while you work. The desk is also available in a dual version which lets you sit side-by-side with another person. Assuming you can agree on what direction to go in, the dual model could be a good idea for pair-programming teams.

While I don’t think you could sit on a bicycle seat all day while working at your computer, it’s an cool idea for quick tasks like filling out forms, taking meeting notes or sending the occasional e-mail.

The system features 512MB of ROM, 256MB of RAM, USB and Ethernet ports as well as VGA and audio in/out ports. The whole package weight in at just over half a pound, and measures just 1.1″(h) x 5.9″(w) x 3.7″(d).

A variety of useful software comes pre-installed, including a word processor, PDF reader, instant messenger, web browser and a media player. While the machine certainly won’t take the place of a full-fledged PC, it’s a nice idea in situations where you simply need to deal with web browsing and simple office tasks.
