Chevrolet has promoted the commercial as the 2012 Chevy Cruze being the car most feared by zombies. The reason they fear it has nothing to do with spinning blades of death or anything else that might kill zombies. Rather zombies fear the car for its fuel efficiency.

The commercial has a newscaster interviewing some zombies asking them what really gets under their skin. The zombie in the interview starts talking about things that bother the undead including mannequins, flossing, and of course, the Chevy Cruze. Check out commercial for yourself, it’s pretty funny.

The hammer looks awesome, and you can use it today so you don’t look like some sort of wacko stocking up for things just in case of a zombie apocalypse. You can use the Superhammer for boring stuff like building tree houses, hanging pictures, and other hammering duties until the dead rise. It has multiple tools in one you can hammer, pry, and smash things.

It has a spike on the bottom (ok it’s a chisel technically), which is obviously meant for crushing the the skulls of the undead – or at least stabbing them in the eye. The chisel can also be used for breaking tile or brick. It also has a bottle opener for those refreshing breaks between slaughtering the horde. It even has a skull logo on the side.

The Dead-On Annihilator could very well make you the coolest guy at the construction site, but I know a zombie killin’ tool when I see it. You can buy one now for under 40 bucks over at ThinkGeek.

What you’re looking at here (obviously) is a zombified version of none other than Steve Rogers himself after being infected. The detail on this custom zombie Captain America by Ben Franklin Zombies are awesome. I just love the gory face details, and the shield – which have clearly seen better days.

Ben started out with a regular 1/6th scale Captain America action figure, and added a custom resin headsculpt, along modifications to the zombie Avenger’s plastic body, and an intricate, distressed paint job to finish things off.

The Resident Evil: Operation Raccoon City gameplay shown here illustrates the need for team work, with four team members working together to defeat the infected. It looks pretty intense and it may even add some a little something new to the franchise. It should be some hectic and brutal action.

The game takes place during the events of Resident Evil 2 and Resident Evil 3: Nemesis. It’s set in Raccoon City, where all of the people have been turned into zombies after the T-virus outbreak. And as you can see from the trailer, you will have to splatter more than a few heads. Resident Evil: Operation Raccoon City is coming our way on March 20th for PlayStation 3, Xbox 360 and PC, and can be pre-ordered over on Amazon now.

Inspired by an original graphic design by Teo Zirinis, The Ministry of Silly Walking Dead needs to go above my fireplace mantle now. It’s made up from 10 individual 7″ x 5″ canvases, nine of which have zombies walking along doing their best John Cleese impression, while the tenth one has Rick Grimes taking aim and blowing away zombie number nine. Shane is nowhere to be seen – probably because he already sacrificed a civilian to make his escape.

Now these Zombie Spike Heels might not be as out there for her, but to the regular female, they’re definitely a lot to handle.

As he shows in his video, as soon as you stretch the rubber band on a slingshot, the band heats up, which gives the slingshot more firing power. Right away the band cools and as the heat leaves, the power declines too. The problem is if you want to have your slingshot loaded and ready to fire you end up losing power. The answer to the problem of losing that power is to apply heat.

Sprave took a heating element and encapsulated it and the rubber bands in an enclosure that traps the heat and keeps the bands nice and warm for firing. This way when he stretches the bands, he can heat them up for maximum power. The heater is powered by a rechargeable battery and appears to heat quickly. He’s also included an interior/exterior thermometer for optimizing the temperature.

It would be interesting to see what would happen if Joerg heated up the rubber bands on some of his more destructive creations like the circular saw slingshot or the slingshot cannon.

The cake was created by Imelda Wikamulia as a present for Technabob reader Greg Off’s birthday, and it’s loaded up with all of our favorite PvZ characters. In the pics, I can see some sunflowers, peashooters, kernel-pults, wall-nuts, a couple of potato mines and torchwood among other defenses. There are also ample zombies on the attack.

Virtually the entire thing is edible, including the hardened sugar pool, and the coconut-dusted green lawn. About the only thing you can’t eat are the tiny cloth costumes made for some of the zombies. As the individual plant and zombie pops get finished off, there’s a whole bunch of additional ones for the eating.

Kudos to Imelda for a great geeky cake, and thanks again to Greg for sending along the pics. Now I need to go find me some sugar, so I can stay up late to finish those pesky mini-games.

One end of the new Zombiehammer slingshot is your typical slingshot that is powerful and shoots metal ball bearings. The other end of the slingshot is where the zombie smashing magic happens. Joerg built a giant spike into one side and a massive ball on the other. So it’s both a projectile and a melee weapon in one.

The spike even has an ejector so if you spike a zombie and the spike sticks, you can pull the elector lever and pop the undead skull off your spike. Take Joerg’s words to heart, he would never use this thing on a human, only a Zombie.

Board up that Malibu beach house, run some undead over with Barbie’s Convertible and whatever you do, don’t get bit by these undead flesh addicts. Which shouldn’t be all that hard really, since Barbie doesn’t have a brain. She should be safe just picking Zombies off left and right as they pass on her in search of brainier victims.

Designed by Austin Fleming, the Vagabond is a portable shelter, which one could strap to their back and quickly set up to keep those brain-seeking zombies out of your way. The concept behind the Vagabond is that it would provide a complete safe haven from zombie hordes, thanks to its sturdy coiled dome structure, and its reflective shell.

The exterior of the shell helps the shelter camouflage into any environment, while at the same time, bouncing bright sunlight back into the zombies’ eyes. Sounds like it might help keep vampires out too. Inside the shelter, a ventilation system exhausts CO2, and battery-operated devices can be recharged thanks to the Vagabond’s photovoltaic surface cells. And want to know if the coast is clear or if there are zombies outside? Well, there’s an app for that.

About the only thing missing from the Vagabond is a way to kill zombies from inside the shelter itself. I’d want to have those cutouts they have on armored trucks, which let you fire a gun from inside. Of course, if you happen to have the strain of zombies from The Walking Dead, that’ll just attract more. Guess you could always try and fire a crossbow at the approaching undead.

The only pumpkins I’ve ever managed to carve were ones with foolish grins and crooked smiles. And I used to think they were pretty decent, until I saw what Ray Villafane managed to do with his pumpkin.

Working with regular-sized pumpkins is already enough of a challenge for most people. But Ray did a more than spectacular job carving these creepy zombies and demons bursting out from their pumpkin grave from the world’s largest pumpkin. And when we say “world’s largest,” we really do mean the world’s largest and heaviest, as it weighed in at 1,818.5 pounds.

The giant pumpkin carving will be on display at the New York Botanical Garden until month’s end so drop by and take a few shots, if you happen to be in the area.

The first downside is that it is bubble gum flavored. I mean seriously, what genius though that making a red brain that isn’t cherry flavored was a good idea. This is oblivious to the fact that a gummy brain needs to be gray anyhow. On the plus-side, the brain is nearly life-size. Honestly, it’s probably larger than the brains in most of the folks I know.

MacBook vinyl stickers are all the rage, and you can install these ones without consequence, since they don’t leave any residue when you want to take them off.

That’s not all. You can also get a goth Snow White with tattoo “sleeves.”

The stickers are made out of die-cut pressure-sensitive adhesive vinyl and eco-solvent inks. They’re also available in versions for iPads, iPods, and iPhones. Expect to pay $7 to $20 from Stickerman’s Etsy shop depending on which Apple device you wish to accessorize.

This time around, Sprave has built a slingshot that looks like it will hack off his fingers at any second. This slingshot shoots circular saw blades down its path and they will fly a long way. The first iteration had nothing on the top to spin the blade making the blade unstable in flight. The second design had a top part that caused the blade to spin and stabilized the flight.

The saw blade is deadly at close range, it could hack half a zombies head off in one shot. I keep excepting this guy to sustain some sort of grievous injury playing with his projects. I can only imagine how bad a backfire with a saw blade weapon would be.

We all know that zombies might be too weak to turn a doorknob, and not particularly fast, but they are able to hide in a dark room waiting for dinner like a fat kid trying to raid the snack drawer. The Prism 200c is a radar-based device that you wear like a backpack and when you need to see if and where people, living or dead, are in a room you press it to the wall.

It looks like some sort of old school Pong game in a backpack, but that display is actually giving users a 3D representation of how many people are in the room and exactly where they are. It will also show when the people move around. The device is made for soldiers in the field to check a room and can be networked with zombie command.

The Crovel has a handle with a pic axe on one end. The space end of the shovel has a serrated saw on one side and a knife-edge on the other. This thing will slice and dice zombies all week long. The other side of that crow bar/pickaxe is a hammer.

The handle is wrapped in 15-feet of 550 paracord so you can climb to safety if need be. This very interesting tool has 13 tools for all sorts of tasks. It looks like that notch under the serrated edge might be for opening the last beer on earth. The Crovel sells for about $99 (USD).
