Leave it to the high-tech watch guys over at Tokyoflash to create another totally baffling digital watch design.
Their new Eleeno EG3 features a colored grid of LCDs, masked by a layer of raised glass “windows”. In order to read the time, first read the number of LCD blocks in the top row of windows for hours, the second block of windows for 10-minute increments, and the bottom row of windows for the minutes.
The Eleeno’s modern design features a metal case (water resistant to three atmospheres) and a simple band is made from black polyurethane. The EG3 costs ¥9,800 (appx.$80 USD) and is available in blue, red and green LCD versions.
As is usually the case with their watches, by the time I figure it out, the time will have already changed. Personally, I think I’ll stick with the old hour hand and minute hand.
