In the last year, we’ve gone from nary a Wii gun controller to a veritable plethora of available shooter accessories for Nintendo’s little white box. Still, with all the variety that’s to be found these days, this is the first time I’ve seen one with a built in laser sight to help you aim your shots.

Already sick of playing the piano on your iPhone? Maybe it’s time to hit the drums. Developer MooTheCow has created this homebrew drum machine application called “Drummer” that runs on the iPhone or iPod Touch. Drummer can play up to 15 unique audio samples (one on each finger touch pad), and takes advantage of multi-touch capabilities, so you can play up to five sounds at once.

Two of my favorite pastimes, waffles and Tetris have joined forces in this, my favorite photo of the week. I’m guessing that you could slow down those rapidly descending breakfast blocks with just a little butter and maple syrup.

Can’t get enough of the sound of your own voice? This desktop bird plugs into your PC and parrots back what it hears. The electronic parrot offers up an array of random phrases, plucked from the words it overhears, all the while gesticulating its mechanical wings.

Think you’re a speed demon on your keyboard? This goofy gadget lets you figure out how fast you can type and displays it on a speedometer-like gauge as you click away feverishly on your computer. In addition to tracking your typing speed (in words-per-minute) the gauge also keeps a running total of how many words you’ve typed so far today.

Psssst. Do you remember how you had to walk a mile to school in the snow with no shoes on to use the mainframe? Ever fall asleep in class learning dbase III? Do you sometimes miss the boop bop beep bop wheeeeeee wailing of the modem?

I was surfing around over on Flickr today, when I came across this great Pac-Man display made entirely out of cans. Photographer eyesplash Mikul captured this image of the giant Pac-Man and ghosts installation. The display was one of several made from thousands of brightly colored cans for a show called Canstruction Vancouver.

One of the greatest boxing games of all time has been immortalized in wearable form. This oh-so-awesome handknit scarf features the fighters from the NES classic Mike Tyson’s Punch-Out!! Created by El Paso crafter Beatboxtaun, the scarf features the likenesses of two of the game’s pixelated pugilists.

If you don’t already have a compact stereo for your iPod, you might want to check out this beauty. Featuring a natural looking cherry-veneered wooden cabinet, Versaudio’s Vers 2X certainly stands out from the crowd of plastic docking stereos which are a dime a dozen these days.

Ahhhhh, the great outdoors. Just you and the sunshine, nature, fresh air, and… all your electronic gear? Well, it is truly possible to have it all with this solar powered digital survival kit. It comes with a 3800mAh rechargeable solar battery to keep your phone (or other preferred device) running and 12 different adapters (check for yours first in the photo before ordering!).

While I don’t think these are officially sanctioned by LEGO, these whimsical MP3 players bear a striking resemblance to the colorful interlocking plastic blocks. Homade’s LEGO-esque media players cleverly conceal their controls into the raised dots on the surface of each block.

Not to be outdone by the edible Atari 2600 joystick, the pastry artisans from Los Angeles’ Cakes by the Pound went all out when they created this delectable Atari-inspired masterpiece. An awesome work of baked goodness, everything you see in the picture is edible other than the board that the cake sits on.

This huge animatronic Gort robot comes to us courtesy of the classic 1951 science fiction flick, The Day the Earth Stood Still. Now, this imposing fella can be yours if you’re ready to pony up the dough.

UTIII is one of the few console games out there that really lets gamers create their own unique maps. I don’t mean just moving a few things around like you can with Halo 3’s Forge mode.
