Nixon Murf Watch Offers Retro-Modern Style

Nixon Murf Watch Offers Retro-Modern Style
It’s been a while since I brought you guys any cool new watches. It’s not for lack of trying, but there just hasn’t been much that’s hit my desk that really caught my eye. So I was pleased when I came across these, the latest analog timepiece from the guys over at Nixon. The Nixon Murf takes a 1970s-style dial watch, and puts a decidedly modern spin on the design.

Gameboy Plush Toys have Plenty of Personality

Gameboy Plush Toys have Plenty of Personality
Check out these fun Gameboy plush toys I came across in my recent Web travels. Featuring a whimsical, cartoony take on the classic hand-held gaming system, they’re the perfect gift for the Nintendo Fanboy or Fangirl in your life. Created by Wisconsin crafter KungFuCowgirl, each of the squishy game systems has its own unique personality, thanks to the slight variations in each handmade Gameboy. They measure in at just a wee-bit bigger than an original Gameboy and come in red, yellow, green, pink or teal.

Plush Retro Macintosh Computer

Plush Retro Macintosh Computer
Look at this fun squeezy Mac plush toy, made by talented crafter Maitreya over at craftlog. The idea was borne out of a need for a baby shower gift for a computer scientist and bioinformaticist. Being a nostalgic girl and Apple fan, the idea to make this old school design came naturally to her. Bonus: this was a patternless, freestyle creation.

Remote Controlled Flying Bug Freaks Me Out

Remote Controlled Flying Bug Freaks Me Out
I’ll start out by telling you that I used to live in the Deep South, home of cockroaches the size of small mice. Oh yeah, did I happen to mention that they could fly? Every time I saw one of those airborne six-legged nasties, it made my skin crawl.

Relaxation Station Will Find a Way to Make You Chill Out

Relaxation Station Will Find a Way to Make You Chill Out

This new gadget out of Korea takes the kitchen sink approach to chilling out, combining all of the aforementioned techniques to get you to unwind. Itsa Wii, Super Mario Casemod

Itsa Wii, Super Mario Casemod
With all of the casemods I’ve seen for the Nintendo Wii, I’m surprised that I haven’t come across any Mario-themed designs in my travels. I guess it was only a matter of time before everyone’s favorite little plumber got his due. The hand-painted Super Mario themed Wii features a scene from the classic platformer, including a 3-dimensional Mario busting out of the side of the console, courtesy of ample quantities of modeling clay and Bondo. The grass-covered base conceals an additional USB port, and an LED illuminated mushroom that changes colors to indicate system status.

Wii Crossbow Shoots Its Poison Arrow Through My Heart

Wii Crossbow Shoots Its Poison Arrow Through My Heart
If you just can’t get enough of Link’s Crossbow Training for the Wii, have I got an accessory for you. Sure the hour-long game already comes inside the package with Nintendo’s Wii Zapper, but that’s not really a crossbow, is it? What’s kind of wacky about the weapon is that they’ve actually covered up the tip of the “arrow” with a dumb looking plastic ball, taking all the fun out of shooting an arrow through your TV screen.

USB Flash Memory Offers Fuzzy, Buggy Storage

USB Flash Memory Offers Fuzzy, Buggy Storage
USB memory sticks are a dime a dozen these days, so you’ve really got to stand out from the crowd if you want to get noticed. These soft, fuzzy critters will definitely latch on to your digital memories in a way you won’t soon forget. Designed by artist Nifer Fahrion of NifNaks, these invertebrate USB drives are handmade using wool felting techniques.

Edible Apple Logo Reminds Me of the (Fruit) Salad Days

Edible Apple Logo Reminds Me of the (Fruit) Salad Days
Check out this tasty realization of the classic Apple rainbow logo, made entirely out of fresh fruit. Richard Thomas’ clever creation is made from sliced kiwis, bananas, oranges, strawberries, green and red grapes and blueberries. Ironically, not a single apple found its way into the picture.

Pac-Man Gets Stuffed

Pac-Man Gets Stuffed
Who says arcade cabinets need to be made out of wood and metal? Why can’t they be soft and squishy? That’s what this crafter thought when she created this fun plush Pac-Man machine. Created by Lady Harvatine, the stuffed arcade machine captures the spirit of some of my fondest arcade memories.

Evolution of Man T-Shirt is Stuck in the 80s

Evolution of Man T-Shirt is Stuck in the 80s
If you think that mankind continues to evolve, perhaps you’re wrong. According to this clever video game T-shirt, we all stopped evolving somewhere back in the mid-1980s, parked in front of a Missile Command cabinet. Depicting the gradual metamophosis from ape to human to arcade addict, this shirt doesn’t take into account the gradual decline from the upright position of Homo Erectus in the arcade to today’s Homo Potatus parked on the couch in front of the Xbox 360. Regardless of its lack of anthropological accuracy, the shirt makes for a nice retro-chic fashion statement, right down to the familiar bitmapped “INSERT COIN” type.

Robot Armed With Paintball Gun Chases Down Victims

Robot Armed With Paintball Gun Chases Down Victims
The only thing worse than taking a paintball pellet in your ass is when your return fire won’t end up inflicting the same pain on your opponent. That’s what you have to look forward to if you end up going toe-to-toe with this robotic foe. Created by builder Che Edoga (aka “darkback2”), his wood and metal robot “Gepetto” can fire paintballs while it tools around via remote control.

Automatic Hot/Cold Mug Takes Your Coffee’s Temperature

Automatic Hot/Cold Mug Takes Your Coffee’s Temperature
A little while back, I told you guys about a nifty coffee mug that could automatically change states from “on” to “off” when a hot beverage hit its surface. While that mug turned out to be insanely popular, many of you pointed out the fact that a simple change in the design to read “hot / cold” would make infinitely more sense.

Blinky Sneakers for the True Pac-Maniac

Blinky Sneakers for the True Pac-Maniac
I’ve got a (Pac-Man) fever, and the only prescription is more Blinky. Well the good news is that there are certainly plenty of Pac-Man’s ghostly pals to go around on these most excellent sneakers from designer Ben Sherman. Sherman’s aptly-named Blinky Shoes are covered from end-to-end with tons of little monochromatic ghosts, with just one red Blinky hidden on each shoe.
