It not often these days that you see inexpensive portable speakers made out of anything but plastic. But these well-priced compact speakers are actually made of durable bamboo, a highly unusual material for speaker enclosures.
According to the folks over at SourcingMap, the bamboo provides a more extensive sound range than other small speakers, but I’m not so sure given the less-than-stellar 300-10,000Hz frequency response range quoted on their site. And at just 2W per channel, you’re not going to blow any eardrums with these USB-powered woody speakers. But given the low $26.99 (USD) price tag for a pair of these, it probably wouldn’t hurt to take a gamble and listen for yourself. One man’s 300Hz is another man’s deep bass boom for all we know. And maybe you’re like me and only your dog can here frequencies about 10,000 Hz these days.
If you’re looking for the right speakers for your Asian-themed decor, they’ll fit in perfectly, and at about 1/35th the price of these cool dragon speakers that you were too cheap to buy.
