Royal & Practical: Princess Toadstool Scarf With Pockets

 |  |  |  |  |  |  April 14, 2009

Gege Crochet loves scarves. I think “scarves” is a weird word. Fortunately Gege’s scarves are anything but weird, like this nice Princess Toadstool scarf.

She said that she made this scarf to complement a Mario scarf that she also made. But then she didn’t like the back of the scarf with all the ends weaved in, so she made a pocket! I don’t understand how that solves things – or what the problem was to begin with –  but yay for you Gege Crochet!

As you can see a DS fits nicely into the pocket. Gege says that “the DS provides a nice heft to the scarf, so if you are walking down the road and are mugged by one of Bowser’s minions, you can swing the scarf and whack them in the head.” And that’s what scarves are for.

Check out Gege’s blog and her Flickr page to see more of her crocheted creations. While Gege’s crafting skills are enviable, what I really envy about her is that she lives somewhere cold enough that she can wear a scarf, because I’m being boiled alive back here. I think the sun moved in next door. My sweat is sweating. People are spontaneously evaporating outside.
