It’s a pretty cool idea, this notion of turning a Wii remote into a music player, but modder goteking took this to all sorts of crazy new places. Here we have a Wii remote with headphones: Awesome!

Felix Domke, who’s also known on the Internets as famous console hacker tmbinc, recently announced that he has ported the SNES9x GX Super Nintendo emulator – originally made for the Wii and the Gamecube – to the Xbox 360.

The recently introduced Sharp JD-7C1CL/CW cordless phone may have a pretty vanilla handset, but it joins the touchscreen bandwagon with its companion 7″ LCD (800 x 480 resolution) touchscreen panel. According to Akihabara News, the panel has various integrated functions like a calendar, a clock, and a phone book app that allows users to store pictures with the numbers.

These amazing pop culture art works feature familiar movie and TV characters hand-sculpted from reclaimed metal. The guys over at Art From Steel create over 450 different creatures out of recycled steel, ranging from Wall-E to the Terminator to Gundam and everyone in between.

The QLOCKTWO is a gorgeous modern timepiece uses letters, not numbers to tell you the current time. Designed by Biegert & Funk, the QLOCKTWO displays text that describes the current time using statements like “IT IS NINE O’CLOCK” or “IT IS FIVE PAST TWO”.

While other replicas only look awesome or have loopy sound effects, Ameralis Grafx‘ Tricorder PMP-09 is not only a replica of the famous Star Trek tricorder, it also serves as a portable media player. It’s equipped with a 2.8″ TFT colored screen, 8 GB of memory, and a battery that can play 4 hours of video or 12 hours of music before needing to be recharged.

Heavy Rain is more an interactive visual story than a traditional game, which is why it looks like most of the development resources went into the game’s look. They did. But from the newest media, that was money well spent.

Clockman is a little cube-dude that’s designed to wake you up and get you going for the day. Sure, he might annoy the crap out of you in the process, but that’s part of the fun.

While I wouldn’t say the Aperture Laboratories radio was as iconic as – say –  the weighted companion cube, it’s still got its own cult following from die-hard Portal fans. Now – thanks to the hard work of one enterprising modder, it’s been brought to life for all to enjoy.

Sony has just officially announced the upcoming release of their new PlayStation 3 (PS3) Slim console during their press conference at GamesCom 2009. The new PS3 Slim console sports a compact new form-factor, and a lower price to go with it.

The bloody hand of Left 4 Dead is one of those images that sticks out–partially, I’m sure, because of the wonderful atmosphere of the game itself, in which those bloody handprints are so often wielded to chilling effect.

Just in case you forgot about LEGO Rock Band, there’s a brand new trailer here to remind you, and to educate you on the epic and destructive fun of replacing traditional demolition with rock. The little scene that takes place during this gameplay clip is amusing, but it’s really the details that stick out to me, like the bricks on the note highway.

Or maybe the designer just skipped Biology classes. The Alien Lamp by Buro Fur Form is supposedly “reminiscent of a strange, otherworldly creature sliding down a rope, gently and almost weightlessly radiating a warm and graceful light”, but it looks pretty familiar to me.
