Folding Laptop Concept is More Than Meets the Eye

When I am working on the road I use a netbook, because hefting even a thinnish ultraportable around all day can be a literal pain. I am all for smaller notebooks and netbooks, as long as they offer enough power to work and are comfortable to use.

A new folding notebook concept over at Yanko Design may well be the coolest design for a smartbook out there. The machine has a screen that folds down like a standard notebook or netbook. It also has larger QWERTY keyboard that folds up as well for a smaller package to carry with you on the go.

There were notebooks in the past that had keyboards that popped out and were larger, but those had issues. This simple hinged keyboard design should work fantastically and looks cool to boot. I bet Hasbro will take issue with the snaking of its Transformers logo on this concept though. (Or build their own netbooks – Ed.)
