Vertu Selling Ultra-Limited Edition “Golden” Cellphones, May Not be as Ridiculous as We Think

Vertu Selling Ultra-Limited Edition “Golden” Cellphones, May Not be as Ridiculous as We Think
To celebrate the first anniversary of their flagship store in Tokyo, Vertu – the luxury brand of cellphone giant Nokia – will be selling four “golden” cellphones. The price? ¥20,000,000 (appx. $215,000 USD) each. The handsets are not really made of gold – they’re “just” decorated with Japanese gold lacquerwork, and they do look amazing.

Pride and Prejudice and Zombies: the Game Based on a Novel Based on a Novel
Game developer Freeverse announced Wednesday that they are currently working on an iPhone/iPod Touch action game based on last year’s hit comedy mash-up novel Pride and Prejudice and Zombies. Freeverse, who have already made several iPhone games such as Flick Fishing and Big Bang Sudoki, promises “a rollicking action title with the perfect blend of zombie slaying action and touching romance narrative.” Pride and Prejudice and Zombies co-author Jane Austen was not available for comment.

Taurus Balance Vehicle: Segway or Sexway?

Taurus Balance Vehicle: Segway or Sexway?
Now I’m pretty sure that the whole Segway fad is over, but it looks like others have different ideas in mind. While this unusual horse-like vehicle looks interesting on paper, I’ve got trouble looking at it and thinking about transportation.

Bsod Belt and Pong Belts Are Perfect for Those Dressy Geek Occasions

Bsod Belt and Pong Belts Are Perfect for Those Dressy Geek Occasions
I will admit to an irrational fear of writing BSOD, saying BSOD, or thinking BSOD. I think Windows sits waiting like HAL for us to utter the word and then offers up the dreaded blue screen out of spite.

Command & Conquer: Draconian Shutout: Ea Blogger Booted Out of Game Because of Drm

Command & Conquer: Draconian Shutout: Ea Blogger Booted Out of Game Because of Drm
EA.com editor-in-chief Jeff Green recently tweeted about his difficulties with his own company’s DRM: “Booted twice — and progress lost — on my single-player C&C4 game because my DSL connection blinked. DRM fail. We need new solutions.” Similar to Ubisoft’s new DRM, Command & Conquer 4 requires gamers to be constantly connected to the Internet even in single player mode, a requirement as absurd as it is faulty.

Casio Vivid Baby-G Watches Bring Spring Home With a Splash of Color

Casio Vivid Baby-G Watches Bring Spring Home With a Splash of Color
When I think of Casio watches, I tend to think about the G-Shock series, which are quite bulky, manly, and filled with functions that you’ll probably never need. On the other hand, we now have Casio’s playful new Baby-G line.

Mortal Kombat Hospitality Shirt: Wine and Dine Him!

Mortal Kombat Hospitality Shirt: Wine and Dine Him!
Back in 1993, one of the animators working on Mortal Kombat 2 pitched a fourth finisher to programmer Ed Boon. The latter asked him to “Get Over Here.” The poor dude, now throatless, is cashing in on his idea in the form of a shirt design:

Wall Bar: 20 Original Photoshop Commands in Tablet Form

Wall Bar: 20 Original Photoshop Commands in Tablet Form
And Knoll said, “let there be an image editing program,” and there was Photoshop. Then the prophet Meninos came down from the mountains, and with him was a tablet – okay it’s a bar – in which are printed the 20 commandments commands of the original Photoshop.

Pcubee: 3d-Ish Cubic Display is Truly Spectactular

Pcubee: 3d-Ish Cubic Display is Truly Spectactular
With all the buzz about 3D televisions coming out this year, the biggest problem with these displays is that they require special glasses to create the 3D illusion in your eyeballs. While this new device prototype doesn’t produce truly stereoscopic images, the effect it produces is the next best thing.

Runco Windowwall Makes Giant Sci-Fi Video Screens a Reality

Runco Windowwall Makes Giant Sci-Fi Video Screens a Reality
If you’ve ever dreamed of having the kind of futuristic video screens you’ve seen on the walls in science-fiction movies and television shows, you might want to check out these impressive new screens from Runco.

Flamethrower Scooter: Keep Back at Least 16 Feet

Flamethrower Scooter: Keep Back at Least 16 Feet
I’ve certainly seen plenty of trucks and emergency vehicles on the road with signs that say “do not follow,” but I never really understood why they say that. Now here’s a vehicle that really needs one of those signs.

Steampunk Stormtrooper Helmet is Geek Overload

Steampunk Stormtrooper Helmet is Geek Overload
I like converged items. I like my phone to work like a computer and a game console for example. I can also appreciate when geeks converge two of their passions into one extra geeky item. Such is the case with the steampunk Stormtrooper helmet we have here today.

Tokyoflash Binary Flow Watch is Extremely Hard to Read

Tokyoflash Binary Flow Watch is Extremely Hard to Read
I don’t know about you guys, but when I glance at my watch, I need to know the time pretty quickly. I don’t have time to try and figure out what exactly my fancy new Japanese timepiece is trying to tell me.

Nathan Sawaya’S Brick by Brick LEGO Sculptures

Nathan Sawaya’S Brick by Brick LEGO Sculptures
You got to love Nathan Sawaya: he makes these awesome LEGO sculptures. You’ve probably seen his 6′ Crackberry sculpture already, but these ones are a bit more artistically intriguing. They are part of his first solo exhibition, and I’ve got to say that they are pretty awesome.

Fansub Failure: When Things Don’T Go According to Keikaku

Fansub Failure: When Things Don’T Go According to Keikaku
Anime fans are no doubt familiar with fansubs – short for ‘fan-subtitled’ – unauthorized translations of anime. The Japanese language isn’t the easiest language to master (is there a rank of that somewhere?), and so the quality of fansubs vary depending on the, well, fans.

Roland Lucina Ax 09: Shoulder Synthesizer or Keytar? Does It Matter What Its Called?

Roland Lucina Ax 09: Shoulder Synthesizer or Keytar? Does It Matter What Its Called?
To me, yes it does. Keytar is just too silly for me, right down there with slanket and yogilates. I can roll with shoulder synthesizer though, and that’s exactly what we have today, the Lucina AX-09 by Roland.
