Case-Mate Offers Custom Cases for Your iPhone, Touch, and Blackberry

 |  |  |  |  October 8, 2010

I am not a big fan of putting cases on my iPhone. I am generally really careful with the thing and hadn’t dropped my phone in years until a few months back I dropped my 3GS and cracked the screen. Now I see that cases are necessary, but most of them are boring.

Case-mate has announced a new DIY line of cases that you can customize with an image of your choosing. You can put your dog, car, wife, kids, or whatever on the case and case-mate will make the thing and send it out to you. There are two options with a Barely There case and a case called the Hybrid Tough Case selling for $34.99 and $39.99 (USD) respectively.

You can get the cases for the iPhone 3, 3G/3GS, Blackberry 8520 and the Blackberry 9700. The only requirement is that the photo you upload needs to be at least 1650 x 1650 resolution. The Case-mate DIY site will let you size the photo and move it to get the orientation you want. The image of my car in the in the photo above was much larger than the minimum with 10MP resolution from my dSLR and I was able to shrink it down to fit the case easily. If you don’t have any good images, you can also choose artwork from Case-mate’s image gallery, but what fun would that be?
