Personally, I’d never pay extra money for a special-edition DSLR, no matter who sponsors it – especially a mid-level model like this Pentax. This is a Pentax K-r that comes with a special limited edition, the Bonnie Pink model.
So apparently Bonnie Pink is the name of a famous Japanese pop star. But even so, I don’t really get the reasoning behind the colors of this Pentax. Beige camouflage with white, red, hot pink and purple accents? J-POP star or not, the color palette is hideous.
If I were in the market for a DSLR, I’d get a Nikon D7000, which is almost the same price as this limited edition Pentax, and a much more capable camera. The K-r Bonnie Pink will sell for $1,100 and there are 100 units available.
