Steampunk Star Wars: What, No Brass Lightsabers?

If you love Star Wars or steampunk, you’ll love these incredible illustrations from professional game and fantasy illustrator Bjorn Hurri.

The images in this collection perfectly combine the aesthetics of the Star Wars universe with the retro-futuristic H.G. Wells-esque steampunk style. I love the intricate detail in the illustrations, especially the brass weaponry and mechanical contraptions filled with mysterious goo.

I think Boba Fett and C-3PO are the most faithful to the originals, while Leia and Han Solo are a bit unexpected in their looks. Han Solo, I want the mustache off. I’m not sure what the deal is with Yoda either. I looks like he’s either taking a hit off of a Hookah, or he’s so old that he needs an oxygen tank. But I kid. These are pretty awesome illustrations.

Check out more of Bjorn’s illustrations over at his profile page on CGHUB, where you can also find work-in-progress versions of a Steampunk stormtrooper, Jabba the Hutt, and Luke Skywalker. Surprisingly, Darth Vader is nowhere to be found.
